It is going to be breaking news... front page... top story on cable news... Won't this be a good time for Cheney to start dropping his nukes on Iran... this will make page 25 sec C...
I am so sick of Paris Hilton (and I never cared much for her to begin with) that when Keith devotes the last segment of his show to something about her, I change over to the Mets game.
He may be forced by his producers to do the segment, but they can't force me to watch it.
AP knows that the world has not been the same since the light of the world has been incarcerated. I, like the rest of the world, have not been able to eat, sleep or do anything. I wait in my darkened room with tears in my eyes for the my beloved Paris Hilton to be free so she can drink and have a good time. Yeah, that's the ticket.
This is the "Let's see who can come up with the most irrelevant story in the media today" contest thread.
I already proposed Prince Williams and his girlfriend. Although I think Jason M. Hendler beat me -and by a long shot. But then again, his posts usually are quite irrelevant, so he has had a lot of practice.
F*CK Paris Hilton and double f*ck any journalist that writes/broadcasts a story about her... and triple f*ck Larry King for putting her on the air!!!
I just said f*ck 3, no, 4 times in one post... and I am still displaying more class than the last, and the next pseudo-journalist to go on air and vomit out another story about this spoiled little bitch.
So that was 45 days already? It seems like only a few weeks. Regardless, more BS fluff to subvert...

You know, I don't get it. All those times I went to jail in my wilder days and not one peep out of the press. How could that be? It's a strange world in even stranger times -- this world, these times in which we live.
Yeah, people would rather watch this garbage news then actually know what is going on in the world. Sickening to think about it but that's the world we live in...
I will have to agree with you guys on this issue. Paris' release should not be considered as relevant news. But I do believe that her post interview is important for other young people who are currently living a troubled life.
The hotel heiress presumably will discuss more long-range plans Wednesday when she appears on CNN's "Larry King Live."
==================
You'd think they just released her from a Soviet Gulag.
Hey Larry! I hope this is the one that finally gets you into that 9th bolgia.
When so-called celebrities can dominate the news it is no wonder that we have such voter apathy. And people don't hear the issues nor understand issues. And what little news that is heard is given in 9 second blurts because "we" have the attention span of a knat according to marketing gurus. Bad enough that those 9 seconds of news are filtererd as well.
Our myopic and pathetic thirst for the next titilating tidbit of trash...well, garbage in, garbage out. Karl Rove understood this about Americans and used it well to get Bush into office.
TP is aware, I'm sure, that Ms. Hilton is not news. What TP is noting is that a major "news" source is treating her release as "news" instead of something actually "newsworthy." Second, TP gets to post what TP wants to post. So let's everyone stop, take a deep breath, and not read/comment if you don't like the story.
Larry King was scheduled to interview Michael Moore and discuss the national healthcare crisis, but was bumped by the PH interview. Sad, pathetic, tragic. CNN's feedback form
Anyone else notice TP is getting overzealous in their censorship/comment policy lately? I had a fair comment pulled and despite a request to explain why it was pulled, I received no answer.

What TP is saying is that the Associated Press is pandering to the lowest common denominator by breathlessly reporting that "The World Awaits" news of Paris.
Nope I will pass on watching Paris Hilton on the TV.

June 26th, 2007 at 8:58 am#41 HEY TP, PARIS IS NOT NEWS!
But the corruption, superficiality, and infantilism of the mainstream press (ie, AP) IS a legitimate issue.
Which is kinda the point.

June 26th, 2007 at 9:41 amAnd I see that my toenails need clipping. That story and Paris Hilton should be of equal interest to TP's readers.
