Breaking: Abramoff-linked Bush official sent to prison.»

CNN reports that J. Steven Griles, the former No. 2 official in the Interior Department, was sentenced to 10 months in prison today for “lying to the Senate about his relationship with convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff,” who got Griles to intervene at the agency for his Indian tribal clients. Griles had proposed “community service” (with a lobbyist group) in lieu of a prison sentence.

This is the same joker that Gale Norton was plumping for recently. We’ve got to get rid of this whole “community service” dodge; I’m pleased to see that the judge didn’t buy into it.

I’m concerned that Mary Matalin’s children may be devastated by this conviction.

I’m so happy to know that those caught lying to the Senate (the Attorney General, the Secreatary of State, perhaps Karl Rove) can be sent to prison.

I was beginning to wonder if there was any penalty at all for lying to Congress - or just continuously retestifying (do-overs).

so…. he is just a lackie… GO FOR THE BIG DOGS!

One by one, the convictions are piling up!

If the Lord answers my prayers, this corrupt, criminal administration will end up with more of their sycophants in jail than the Nixon and Reagan regimes COMBINED!

  6. Eskwaya Says:

I can’t wait for all of the editorials and interviews about how he should be pardoned!

Oh, what’s this, there have been none and probably will be none?

    But how can that be?

The Bush-GOP Scandal Document Library has been expanded to include the latest news, key reports, document releases and other essential materials surrounding Bush administration and GOP wrong-doing. From the U.S. attorneys purge, Plamegate, and illegal NSA domestic surveillance to Iraq intelligence manipulation, torture scandals and the ongoing Jack Abramoff fall-out, it’s all there.

    Only ten months. Shame.

  9. dxwoods Says:

Too bad he did have some weed on him. If they’s have pinched him with a Joint in his pocket he might have gotten 3-5 years.

Say that’s a thought. Can’t we get him on possession of undue political influence with intent to sell? That should be a manditory 3-5.

  10. Buck Fush Says:

Sure, community service as a male prostitute…might as well use him for what he is trained in.

    *tiny violin playing for Griles*

    GREAT NEWS!

Burn em all. We have too many corrupted pols running around DC as it is. I find the idea of this guy taking showers with large groups of fellow cons soothing.
