President Bush on Tony Blair:

By Nico Pitney on Jun 26th, 2007 at 9:35 pm

President Bush on Tony Blair:

I’ve heard he’s been called Bush’s poodle. He’s bigger than that. This is just background noise, a distraction from big things.” Bush added, “Tony’s great skill, and I wish I had it, is that he’s very articulate. I wish I was a better speaker. … He’s much more kind of lofty and eloquent than I am.”

No sh*t! Maybe it’s because he’s smarter and took his education seriously?

    Thanks, Captain Obvious…..er, Oblivious.

  7. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) says:

Bush is doing his self-deprecating act which has appeared to me to be a foreshadowing of a wave of criticism of him by others. He must be worried.

  8. Gregor Samsa says:

“I’ve heard he’s been called Bush’s poodle. He’s bigger than that.”

Yeah, he’s not just any poodle. Blair is a standard poodle.

See? He is bigger than that.

  9. JG says:

Yes, he’s the GENTLEMAN’S WAR CRIMINAL.

And according to Bush, “he SMELLS good, too! SWOON!

  13. Tom says:

    “I wish I was a better speaker”

Of course, the correct sentence would be — “I wish I were a better speaker.”

How appropriate of GDumbya to blow that one, too. Blair may be a poodle but GDumbya is just a mutt.

  14. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) says:

    Tom

This is so eloquent as well: “much more kind of”.

  15. Not Canadian says:

  19. Zep Tepi says:

George is no dummy. He was raised in a political atmosphere and is a political animal.

Tony does speak eloquently, this is true, yet he has still been pretty much the lapdog to a man that isn’t so eloquent.

    Double Orwellian.

We are born with intelligence, speaking articulately doesn’t make one more or less intelligent.

    Bush is a Saudi puppet.
His goal is to establish an Islamic state in America.

I agree, PLC. It would be a charming quirk if GWB weren’t so corrupt.

  28. Wayne A. Schneider says:

I could take Bush’s inarticulate nature, if he didn’t use it to lie, cheat, and steal.
    Comment by PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC)

He gets both from his father, the guy who claimed during Iran-Contra that he was “out of the loop”, then admitted in his memoirs that he was probably one of the few people who knew everything that was going on.

  29. The Joker says:

Bush should be deported to Saudi Arabia.
He’s one of the leaders of Al-Qaeda!

  40. Damian says:

The notion of chimpy as a benelovent simpleton is comforting in one aspect, but saddening if one considers just how low the presidential bar has been lowered.

Jerry Ford would be considered a Godsend by these standards. He was of modest intellect or a little more by most accounts, generally regarded as well-intentioned, and probably honest considerably more than not. Looking back, he probably mustered a grade of C to C+.

  42. Zep Tepi says:

    Comment by Damian — June 27, 2007 @ 1:46 am

I would proffer, Damian, that it’s not so much intellect as it is reliable information. Bush, as many before him, due to security concerns, live in a bubble. As well, living in a security bubble leaves one prone to misinformation from advisors.

Perhaps. But I have already found the way and have seen the being of light, and see nothing new in the texts of old. Been there, done that.

Here, Primus, is a modern thought: http://www.blazelabs.com/f-p-element.asp
    that might help.

But you can always find something new in the texts of old, just as you can always find something old in the texts of new.

    Same Substance, Different Form

  50. Zep Tepi says:

But you can always find something new in the texts of old, just as you can always find something old in the texts of new -PIP

That, at one time, applied to me, was true.

Primus, my bloodline includes all races, a mutt of all mutts. Yet this compels me to protect all of humanity. I simply cannot accept any one school of thought. It just cannot be.

Bloodlines, as the Ourboros, run full circle. A mutt is not a mutt. It is the result of progress. Hate that if you will, but remember your hate is not mine. ALL of your bloodlines become my concern.

Just as a word is a complex of letters/syllables which are elementary, but at the same time the word is elementary.

    For example: atom

    Frequency and wavelength. Okay.

What you fail to understand, PIP, is the reverse wavelength that creates a non-scalar wave (time/reverse time)

  70. Zep Tepi says:

Lemme expound on RGB misters Red Green Blue.

If you think I don’t comprehend light you are very wrong. What you don’t comprehend it time and space.

  71. JPV says:

This is the first thing that I’ve heard. coming out of Bush’s mouth, that actually makes him sound human.

I wonder if Rove wrote it for him.

  72. theswan says:

One baffon articulating a another bafoon. How convienent. Tony has got to be in order for a freedom metal. And to reciprocate tony will ask the queen to reserve a seat at the round table for boy george. These idiots just love to pass around their love for each other. It is media worthy.

  73. RUCerious says:

Blair is history as of today. Let’s hope they don’t try to whitewash his complicity in the tragedy that is and will be Iraq.

  74. nofltwlt says:

Bush is an idiot. Only an idiot would turn every topic into a discussion about himself when he is a dufus in every way.

  75. Pete Bogs says:

    of course he is – he’s English… while you’re a Texas dolt…

  76. Hedley Lamarr says:

  77. MsJoanne says:

I guess I fall from the pack on this one. As the leader of supposedly the greatest country on earth, I would like that leader to be able to actually articulate what he is thinking (I suppose therein lies the rub).

I don’t find it quirky that he speaks as he does – whether he was honest Abe or the dolt he is.

I think our country deserves better from whomever is elected. I certainly wouldn’t want my kids to aspire to a C average so they could become president.

  78. faith says:

What an embarrassment. Mr. Bush, does not communicate well, because he lacks clarity and logic in his thinking.

Secondly, how humiliating Mr. Bush’s comments must have been to Mr. Blair. Mr. Blair has ruined his integrity and his leadership standing because he joined Mr. Bush’s warmongering. It is astonishing that even an obtuse president would stoop so low as to mention the poodle remark, followed by expressing to the listeners that Mr. Blair is a good speaker. Especially when the comments are to be representative of someone’s tenure as leader of a country (Blair).

Notice Mr. Bush made no comment about Mr. Blair’s support of America’s war. What a shame. If Mr. Bush has any remaining international friends once he departs office, I doubt it will be based on mutual respect and understanding.

  79. Marie says:

If he had not created world wide chaos and destroyed our reputation; if he had not set out to marginalize the the Constitution, Bush could be our comedian-in-chief.
He’s stupid and rude, inarticulate and uneducated, oafish and ill-mannered — and he represents us in the world.

  80. Truth Seeker says:

Camp Twisted Moronic Muppet. Britian is our Nation you Scum licker Blair you are an utter bastard. What gives you the right to give our Armed forces to our enemies who are unelected & unaccountable. What is a an unelected President of Europe? Remind me ? A DICTATOR .
