“It’s official. Tony Blair tendered his resignation as prime minister of Great Britain in a private meeting with Queen Elizabeth II this afternoon at Buckingham Palace. Blair’s former chancellor, Gordon Brown, took the helm shortly thereafter, declaring outside 10 Downing Street, ‘Let the work of change begin.‘”

There goes a man, who could have been a great prime minister, but for the lying and cheating that paved the way for the Iraq war. I will never understand why he chose to ally with the current US administration, he seemed far to intelligent for that. But as it is: Good riddance.
BTW expect some surprises from the hard headed Scot, Brown.
June 27th, 2007 at 12:08 pmOh I dream of this happening here. TODAY!!!

I usually don’t disagree with Spudge, but this time I must.
June 27th, 2007 at 12:57 pmIraq has been a lost cause from day one.
Sure, Saddam has been hung, but what good has that done?
How many would be better off had we just left him alone?
America lost; the Iraqis lost way more; Bush is a complete and utter failure as both a person and President.
These guys are like gophers. They’ll just pop up somewhere else to annoy the crap out of us.
June 27th, 2007 at 1:13 pmEnd of the Blair era.
Also called de-poodle-ification.
June 27th, 2007 at 1:19 pm…..and Blair is a poodle who should not have cast his lot with the Bush/Cheney cabal.

I never said hanging Saddam changed anything or made anything better or that Iraq was better off.
What I said was that we won, but left off the “military conflict” part. Sorry.
The things you are pointing to happened after and are still occurring after we won the military conflict. George W Bush wasn’t lying on that aircraft carrier. All major combat operations were done on May 1, 2003.
The things you are describing are taking place during the occupation of Iraq.

June 27th, 2007 at 1:59 pmSo does this mean that when The British troops leave Iraq, Bush will demand another surge?
We’re beyond Impeachment. Time for Commitment to a mental facility…
June 27th, 2007 at 1:59 pmThere goes a liar. And would you believe that this Blair fellow who has no credibility wants to be mid east envoy.
June 27th, 2007 at 2:21 pmSo lets see a guy who said Sadaam was capable of launching an attack(WMD) in 45 minutes wants to work as an envoy where believeability and character are significant. What balls this Joker Blair has.
Bye bye poodle Blair. Get lost and never show your face again.
