But when you say things like “you left wing F@ucks”, then it seems some what disingenuous to say in the next sentence: “Im not right or left i’m an independent”. Your first comment pretty much belies that you are not centrist, and certainly not likely to accept ideas from the left.

Just so you know, people in the rest of the Anglosphere don’t even see the Democrats as a party from the left, but then, politics isn’t so ‘party line’ driven as in the US.

On another point, talkback radio is much listened to by people who often are not in a position to access other services at the time. This could be for a number of reasons: listening whilst driving, listening whilst doing manual labour in workshops, cleaning at home. For example, in China where car ownership is low, the influence of radio is negligible compared to TV and newspapers, whilst the penetration of inexpensive internet cafes actually makes the web more accessible there.

But the left doesn’t think for themselves and more or less than the right.

Pelosi complains the problem is that people aren’t willing to forgive; yet she denies this is about amnesty.

This joker doesn’t even realize that she’s contradicting herself. Or maybe she does but she thinks her constituency is too stupid to grasp this fact. Either Pelosi is an idiot or she thinks everybody else is.

Nice try TP by slipping that the American people support the “key components of the legislation”. Yes I support many of the key components also but there are components that I would never entertain. For one the bill forbids the federal government to use any information included in an application for amnesty in national-security or criminal investigations.
Just because you might support parts of the bill doesn’t mean that the American people what the bill to pass…because other parts of the bill are crap.

Of the decided, 50 / 72 comes to 70% opposed. That 30% of those decided for the bill must be ladies for you to be claiming “broad support”? And I think they prefer being called chickies to broads… but I could be wrong there.

Oddly, polls of actual people finding out how they felt about this specific bill in particular (not it’s general ideas, or “key provisions” but the bill itself) doesn’t give you “broad support” it gives you more than 2/1 opposition. You really have to dance aroudn teh facts to make the claims you did with any semblence of credibility.

But I’m sure the fact that a majority of those polled (again, who weren’t undecided) believe that doing nothing is better than the bill that failed (45% to 32%) doesn’t deter you at all.

Go ahead and fictionalize the bill, deal with small portions that people like, not the nightmare it was; and tell yourself that it was popular, and the right wing fringe killed it. But don’t claim to be a reality-based community while dealing solely with a pleasant fiction.

Though conservatives may take up 91 percent of the talk radio airwaves, talk radio is not representative of the American people.

That’s much like saying that conservatives ride 91 percent of unicorns. There are no unicorns, but plenty of horses, cars, airplanes, and bicycles; no one has a monopoly on them. There are no “talk radio airwaves,” but plenty of radio, TV, cable, satellite, Internet, and print means of conveying a point to others; no one has a monopoly on them.

As for talk radio’s not being “representative of the American people,” neither am I, and neither are you, Ryan Powers. ThinkProgress.org isn’t “representative of the American people”; neither is HotAir.org, nor CBS News, nor Fox News. Neither you nor I am here to be representative of anyone–unless you’re keeping something from me, sweetheart. We’re all out here to say what seems to be good or just or beautiful to us, and the last thing we want to do is worry about whether we’re being “representative” of the same, lame opinions other people have. Isn’t that right, Ryan? I mean, you’re Ryan F’n Powers, not just some shill for “majority opinion.” And just like me, you have better things to do than defend yourself and others from equal-time bean-counters.

AND.. if you support the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE that means that ALL the left wing TV media will have to make way for some conservative TV media. Of course, they will try to say “we’re not left wing” just like they tried to say this bill “is not amnesty”. Not sure what “people” you were talking to because EVERYONE I talked to did NOT support this travesty of a bill. Perhaps you were talking to people who had no idea what was IN the bill – those are the only people who would support it besides the people who were actually asking us to bend over and take it up the ass.
