Wolfowitz Returns Home To Neoconservative Think Tank AEI»

wolfowitz3837.gifFormer World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz — who resigned last month after being embroiled in a corruption scandal at the World Bank — announced that he has found a comfortable landing pad from which to continue to disseminate his right-wing ideology:

Paul Wolfowitz vowed to continue in political life after he steps down as president of the World Bank this weekend following an internal revolt. … He said he would be joining the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think-tank in Washington, as a visiting scholar, which would allow him to continue influencing public policy.

Prior to his recent government service, Wolfowitz served as a member of AEI’s Council of Academic Advisors.

Before the Iraq war, AEI helped spawn the administration’s regime change plans. Several Iraq war architects — such as Richard Perle, Dick Cheney, John Bolton, and Doug Feith — previously worked at AEI before their service in the administration. In February 2003, President Bush delivered a major policy speech to AEI, mapping out his war plan, “thanking them [AEI] for their service” and support for the invasion.

To this day, AEI “has the President’s ear” on national security issues. Bush’s escalation plan is largely based on a November 2006 paper by AEI analyst Frederick Kagan, who argued that the U.S. should “re-enter [Iraq] in large numbers.”

AEI offered a rigorous defense of Wolfowitz, despite his corrupt practices at the Bank. Said one AEI scholar: “The coordinated effort to harm him has revealed to polite society in Washington that something at the World Bank is seriously wrong.” Another placed the blame on Bank employees, slandering them as “militant staff.”

With his return to AEI, Wolfowitz said he continues to hold out hope of one day “rejoining the government.”

That ain’t nothin’ Mr. P — wait to you see the Wolfman slick his hair back by gobbing spittle on his comb and then running it thru his hair. This guy is just an all-around nasty freak.

And I still hold out hope that one day I will encounter Wolfowitz face to face so that I can bring to him the EXACT same fate that he has so joyously brought to millions.

Be sure and say “good bye” to him first.

I don’t think so, Pal. But if that’s what you want so badly, we hear they need soldiers in Iraq. And thanks to you, there’s new openings every single day, you lying, murderous, evil scum!

May you rot in whatever Hell you believe in.

I really don’t like this guy, in case you couldn’t tell. And I’m thumbing my nose right back atcha, Pal!

You are absolutely correct, this is not news.

What is news, though, is that the AEI continues to exist and flourish.

Can somebody please explain to me how ThinkProgress identifies Wolfowitz as being a RIGHT-WING CONSERVATIVE NEOCON, and yet his past girlfriend (Shaha Riza) is a LEFT-WING FEMINIST/SOCIALIST?

The only goal for these people is One World Government based on Fabian Socialism.

Actually, it’s more like reference material for a future “Where Are They Now?” segment.

Tonight, in our 47-part series, “The Men Who Destroyed The World”, we look at Paul Wolfowitz, the man who told us the war would “pay for itself, and relatively quickly.” Where is he now?

Also a lot of the PNAC guys and people you would expect to see (including John Yoo).
    http://www.aei.org/ scholars/ filter.all/ scholar_byname.asp

Bill Kristol’s Weekly Standard has the same address as AEI. What a surprise.. I remember hearing that the office for PNAC was also located there. I think they quietly shut down a couple of years ago because all their goals had been met, or something to that effect. I read it in a newspaper article.

    Pure comic genius.

  43. Jackie Says:

Wolfie knows the American people will believe Cheney and follow what ever he says. Look it’s worked for the pass 6 years as Americans don’t mind 3500 plus soldiers dying based on the lies of the White House. Even spying and stealing from the taxpayers is no problem. Yes the mission is almost complete and Americans will find out later that they were played for fools. Wolfie will follow the GOP script and say Bill Clinton did all this over the pass 6 years. Yes Bush did nothing but what he was hired to do. He’s the front man for President Cheney. George W. Bush is the White House Walmart Greeter and he does an excellent job. Now Wolfie will wait until Karl Rove completes the mission of having the one party system.
Wolfie knows that their will be no need for immigrates as Black/Hispanic Americans will be on the jails chain gang. As the policy of putting a person in jail without charges and no lawyer it will be easy to find workers to replace the millions of immigrates sent home. Denying education to minorities will lead to crime thereby putting them as field workers. Yes the plan is in place as Roberts and Alito do the job. Now when the new rules are in place Clarence Thomas will be removed he’s black and not needed any more. Connie will still be the pillow mate so she has no problem.

  44. War4Sale Says:

  45. Robert M. Says:

That’s because those members of Washington’s polite society are making a living and then some off of those who are making policy and decisions at our expense.

#48 Political think tanks were created by corporations and wealthy individuals to disseminate and rationalize political ideology under the guise of unbiased research. They even have their own system of journals because their research is often flawed in ways so obvious that any decent academic journal would reject it for publication. Most of the so-called scholars at think tanks are pathetic little frauds who couldn’t hack it at a real university. Think tanks aren’t much different than the political presses that once churned out inflammatory pamphlets for distribution in the town square.

Walt, you need to do your homework on AEI, Wolfie and the neocons.

Wolfie didn’t “get a gig” with AEI, he was always one of them. He is one of the top creators of the “Iraq strategy”. He returns there with honors (and a slap on the wrist for pulling a Clinton.) According to AEI, the home of the neocons, his work over the last 20 years has been seen as extremely successful. “AEI doesn’t care about flawed thinking”? What flawed thinking?? They are going to fete him as one of the most important neocon thinkers in their drive toward Pax Americana.

Is this the same “polite society” that thrives on cronyism and corruption?

The simple-thinking types get to the top and have an easy time because they sound confident and act confidently - because their thinking is simple and they have no doubt and don’t reflect on their experience. They don’t look at the results.

BTW, I don’t see a TP story on Bush crying (yesterday or the day before). There should be one. Suggested headline: “Bush Wept”.

This is big news! Bush’s whole problem has been his disconnect from reality, and now he is connecting. This is good. This should be encouraged.
