Pardons and sentence commutations are not uncommon for most presidents. But the president should have stayed out of this case due to a direct conflict of interest.

I agree, he should never have pardoned Susan McDougal, who went to jail to protect the president.

This instance is unique because the president commuted the sentence of someone who is a former staffer.

Even more unique is pardoning terrorists, fugitives, cronies and others, all because they could provide votes, campaign contributions, or were former business associates.

Of course, THAT doesn’t bother you. But Scooter Libby, well now, that’s a REALLY bad pardon.

The utter disregard for the rule of law and our justice system is both astonishing in one respect but it is also not surprising considering the track record of this administration.

Couldn’t agree more. The guy was a liar from the word go–from “I didn’t inhale” all the way to “I didn’t have sex with that woman”– the guy couldn’t tell the truth to save his life. The funny part is how the left pretends that’s the only lie he ever told, because it’s the only one he ever got convicted on. The guy was a serial liar and rogue, and the passage of time seems to have dimmed your memories.

Never mind the abuses of power when he was in office, including pilfering FBI files on Republicans, using the IRS to attack opponents, firing all 93 attorneys (that’s more than eight, right?), firing the Travel office employees, Waco, selling missile technology to the Chinese in return for campaign donations, and on and on and on.

And the freakin guy was a serial sexual assaulter, and probably a rapist as well. You can shriek and scream about Bush all you want, but nothing he’s done could ever match the crimes perpetrated by that pervert.

I can only imagine the fits on this forum if George Bush were even accused of brushing up against a woman–never mind rape. Rather than IGNORE the story, as the despicable media ignored Clinton’s assaults (and continues to ignore them) — the media would talk about nothing else if Bush were accused of anything remotely similar.

While Congress canâ€™t undo the presidentâ€™s actions, they can now investigate Plamegate, hold hearings on what role key members of the administration played in the outing of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame.

Funny we never near the name of “Richard Armitage”–you know, the official leaker–iever mentioned by the insane left. Now why would that be?

As for investigating the Plame affair, yes, let’s. Let’s get that proven liar Joe Wilson and his equally lying, non-covert wife on the stand. The bipartisan 9/11 report noted him to be a absolute confirmed liar, and he should answer for his lies. And so should she, for sending that lying sack of shit to Niger in the first place, and then lying about it.

Yes, it’s time to get those pompous pieces of shit on the stand.
