It’s obvious that no health care is better than a state run health care system. Also, no health care for children is better than Bush’s ideological opposition to children’s health care. This according to Bush promising to veto legislation for children’s health care. But they can’t vote anyway, so screw ‘em and besides such children would just grow up to be Democrats anyway so who needs or wants them.

I am a 31 year old guy living in california. Up untill a year ago i had NO insurance whatsoever. I lived in constant fear of getting sick, breaking a bone etc.

I do not agree with everything Mr Moor has said in his movies in the past . But on this movie ‘Sicko’ he moved me to tears.

I am having a very hard time at this moment controlling myself. My mind is SCREAMING out obscenities towards my fellow Americans asking them WHY THE HELL DO YOU LET THIS HAPPEN !!

I am not rich i make less then 10k a year, there are MANY people making 3-4 times as much as me who still can not afford health care for themselves let alone their children.

For god sakes.. If a little country like Cuba can provide free health care for its people why the bloody hell cant we !!!!!!

Corporations are killing this country with their greed.

Wow, where do I begin?

I never said universal health care breeds terrorism. For the record, I’m for universal health care and have been for some time.
I did say that National Health Services and other similar systems have lower pay scales than private systems which has created a doctor shortage, which indeed it has. This has caused an influx of med workers from the developing world. Looks like some of them were terrorists.

I don’t work for Dick Scaife nor the pharmaceutical companies, but if anyone has a good contact in big Pharma, let me know. I could use the money.

I didn’t attack Sicko. I haven’t seen it, and didn’t even know it was out at the time of the interview.

My hair is not a toupee, and it’s grey, not blonde.

I’m neither evil, nor stupid.

I am not a neo-con.

The video-clip omits most of the interview I had with Neal on this topic. I wonder why.

Ummmm…. this was said in a few posts already but I like to reiterate that our whole system almost is made up bureaucracies. Let’s see here to name a few our military, gov’t, education, postal, federal agencies…. my god to think that the neocons are admitting that all of these are suscetible to terrorist infiltration. So, if the neocons are so afraid of bureaucracies then why is the rest of our system full of them?

I am a Canadin commenting on the “free” medicare argument.

Last year I had no income and paid no taxes. Despite this I had cataract surgery, treatment for diabetes, renal clinic management monthly– all with no out-of pocket cost to me except for bus fare.
Further I will likely have home dialysis later this year with equipment in home, training, support, renovations if required — all at no cost to me beyond the taxes paid over my lifetime.
There is no question it is free with NO cost at the point of providing services.
Believe me folks, it works and is always getting better.

Susie – thanks for that – but it still doesn’t make sense to me.
The armed forces are a state on their own within a country, so I understand your point, but I don’t see the link with universal, national healthcare for a whole, largely civilian country.

We all know that Jesus would not want everyone to have health care.
My elderly mother has had over 20 different caregivers in the last 3 months as they rotate from week to week. None have health care except those that are on medicare. Only 2 were on medicare. All are caucasians!
