You just wrote a long defense of Mormons making money off of porn or working in the gambling industry, even though your religion is against such things. Now read this very carefully: there is a difference between saying “My religion doesn’t support that, but I won’t interfere with other people’s rights to engage in that,” and “My religion doesn’t support that, but I’ll make money off of it even though I don’t like it.” The former is tolerant behavior; the second is hypocritical behavior.
I will not denounce the ACLU here, because I can agree with much of its work, though not all. There are good reasons why even known conservatives like former Congressman Bob Barr (very active in trying to impeach Clinton) work for it.

Regarding the Romney so-called “scandal”:

As a member of the LDS Church, same as Romney, I happen to know for a fact that many “Mormons” also work in the casino/gaming industry in Nevada. It doesn’t mean we agree with gambling, it just means that we believe human beings have the fundamental right to choose for themselves the path they follow, and we actually FOLLOW those beliefs, rather than merely pay those beliefs lip-service and attempt to dictate how others should live.

Mitt Romney followed the dictates of his religious beliefs, regardless of his personal opinion concerning porn. I would think you would respect him for his actions. Regardless, the whole thing is non-issue. What scandal? It’s not even being covered in the “normal” news outlets. Oh, but I did hear the story about how Mitt strapped the dogs car carrier to the roof of his car with the dog in it….they wen’t of vacation…and nothing happened! But the truth is that Romney was on the board of directors of Marriot and didn’t try to intervene to stop the hotel chain’s sale of in-room pay-per-view pornographic movies, because, he says: “I am not pursuing an effort to try and stop adults from being able to acquire or see things that I find objectionable; that’s their right. But I do vehemently oppose practices or business procedures that will allow kids to be exposed to obscenity.”
