Limbaugh warns 13 yr old caller about dangerous liberals.

On Rush Limbaugh’s radio show Tuesday, a 13 year old caller named Patrick complained that he was forced to read “liberal magazines like Time and Newsweek” in school which explained the globe was getting warmer. The caller said he was skeptical of the science because “my parents have always been skeptical of it.” Limbaugh then offered the following encouragement to the caller:

RUSH: Patrick, this will be a good lesson. There are liberals everywhere. You may think that just because your town is conservative — there are liberals. They’re hiding in the shadows, and they are lurking there, and they’re around and the odds are that many of them are in the school system. You’ll probably at some point probably have to watch [Al Gore's movie], unless your parents and other parents find out about it and demand, “If you’re going to show this movie, you better show the Great Global Warming Swindle and put the other side to our kids out there.” Well, congratulations. I’m glad you called and told us this. This is the kind of thing that gives us all encouragement for the future. Here you are at 13, already aware of when you’re watching propaganda. That’s great.

  15. Fred says:

Too funny. One only wishes there was an alternate universe we could send Rush to where his fantasy was really true: liberals outing and persecuting conservatives like the Fat Man himself. You know, kids snitching on their parents who then get hauled off the gulag. Oh, sadly that has happened too many times in history. I wonder if Rush knows?

It would be one thing if Rush believed his own blather. But I suspect it’s an act, you know, a day job to pay for his pills and sex trips to the Carribean.

  16. Yikes says:

Yeah that’s right Rush, equate liberals with slimy low life’s that lurk around in the shadows like pedophiles.

He is right about one thing, there are liberals everywhere.

    Do we have claws too?

These sound like the same things they said about witches. And then the commies, and then the japanese, and then the commies again, the blacks, the mexicans, the arabs…

I wonder if they’re just going to eventually come out and say ‘If you’re not this hair color, this skin color, and this religion, with these particular beliefs (at least practiced unto others…), we hate you.

I’m 17, I encouraged the use of An Inconvenient Truth in my high school. I encouraged my science teacher to talk about that issue. I talked with my fellow students, and I ensured they all knew a simple fact: If someone’s telling you something, and they don’t cite a source, you need to check up on it. I occasionally get checked-up on too, and they laugh in my face on it, because I encouraged them to do that.

I think Rage Against the Machine put it rightly: “We gotta kick ‘em out.” And we should start with this generation, and it should be preached thereafter.

We can dismiss the tactic as inappropriate. We can swear that we will not adopt such personal, nonsubstantive arguments. However, our country elect Bush and re-elected him to a second term; lived under an all Republican controlled government until the 2006 election and we have watched our Supreme Court turned into a throw back of the late 1800’s. Take it seriously and develop a way to counter the propaganda. We may very well carry the presidency but we will live with the courts and nonpartisan career civil servants chosen by Bush for many years. We were lucky that a majority seems to be waking up. From 1994 – 2000, Clinton had a CONSERVATIVE Congress, who wouldn’t let him do anything about Osama…

“GOP Congress blocked Clinton push for anti-terror legislation
by John Aravosis (DC) · 9/04/2006 11:10:00 AM ET

    CNN, July 30, 1996
Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, emerged from the meeting and said, “These are very controversial provisions that the [Clinton] White House wants. Some they’re not going to get.” ….[Hatch] also said he had some problems with the president’s proposals to expand wiretapping.
So Bill Clinton, rather than just breaking the law as Bush did (then again, perhaps this is why Bush broke the law – he knew from history that the Republicans controlling the congress would oppose his efforts to expand wiretapping), decided to go to the Republican congress in 1996 and ask them for increased authority to do more eavesdropping in order to stop the terrorists – stop September 11. Senior Republican Senator Orrin Hatch, one of the GOP’s top picks for the Supreme Court and a GOP committee chair, objected.

The Republicans stopped President Clinton from getting all the tools he needed to stop the next September 11 – well, no, actually they opposed giving President Clinton all the tools he needed to stop the actual September 11. Could September 11 have been stopped if the GOP had given President Clinton the tools he requested to stop Osama and Mohammad Atta from killing 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington?”

    Response to #116:

Here’s what a real President did against terrorism:

    # PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON developed the nation’s first anti-terrorism policy, and appointed first national coordinator of anti-terrorist efforts.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold the Al Qaeda millennium hijacking and bombing plots.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to kill the Pope.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up 12 U.S. jetliners simultaneously.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up UN Headquarters.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up FBI Headquarters.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up Boston airport.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up Lincoln and Holland Tunnels in NY.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up the George Washington Bridge.
    # Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up the US Embassy in Albania.
    # Bill Clinton tried to kill Osama bin Laden and disrupt Al Qaeda through preemptive strikes (efforts denounced by the G.O.P.).
    # Bill Clinton brought perpetrators of first World Trade Center bombing and CIA killings to justice.
    # Bill Clinton did not blame the Bush I administration for first World Trade Center bombing even though it occurred 38 days after Bush left office. Instead, worked hard, even obsessively — and successfully — to stop future terrorist attacks.
    # Bill Clinton named the Hart-Rudman commission to report on nature of terrorist threats and major steps to be taken to combat terrorism.
    # Bill Clinton sent legislation to Congress to tighten airport security. (Remember, this is before 911) The legislation was defeated by the Republicans because of opposition from the airlines.
    # Bill Clinton sent legislation to Congress to allow for better tracking of terrorist funding. It was defeated by Republicans in the Senate because of opposition from banking interests.
    # Bill Clinton sent legislation to Congress to add tagents to explosives, to allow for better tracking of explosives used by terrorists. It was defeated by the Republicans because of opposition from the NRA.
    # Bill Clinton increased the military budget by an average of 14 per cent, reversing the trend under Bush I.
    # Bill Clinton tripled the budget of the FBI for counterterrorism and doubled overall funding for counterterrorism.
    # Bill Clinton detected and destroyed cells of Al Qaeda in over 20 countries.
    # Bill Clinton created national stockpile of drugs and vaccines including 40 million doses of smallpox vaccine.
    # Of Clinton’s efforts says Robert Oakley, Reagan Ambassador for Counterterrorism: “Overall, I give them very high marks” and “The only major criticism I have is the obsession with Osama”.
    # Paul Bremer, current Civilian Administrator of Iraq disagrees slightly with Robert Oakley as he believed the Bill Clinton Administration had “correctly focused on bin Laden.
    # Barton Gellman in the Washington Post put it best, “By any measure available, Bill Clinton left office having given greater priority to terrorism than any president before him” and was the “first administration to undertake a systematic anti-terrorist effort”.

  123. unbelievable says:

President Clinton urged Congress Tuesday to act swiftly in developing anti-terrorism legislation before its August recess.

“We need to keep this country together right now. We need to focus on this terrorism issue,” Clinton said during a White House news conference.

But while the president pushed for quick legislation, Republican lawmakers hardened their stance against some of the proposed anti-terrorism measures.
There’s even an audio clip of President Clinton practically begging the Republicans to give him the tools he needed to stop Osama and the terrorists. Trent Lott said no. Orrin Hatch said no. Do these men really deserve to run the Congress during a time of war?

yep, all clinton’s fault. he had been in office all of 35 days. blame clinton for this and yet howl in disapproval when bush is accused of doing nothing for eight months before 9/11.

that is the definition of hypocrisy.

you always claim clinton did nothing. far from it:

1996 Attack on American base in Sauid Arabia by Al Qaeda

According to the United States, classfied evidence suggests that the government of Iran was the key sponsor of the incident, and several high ranking members of their military may have been involved.[3] The U.S. government may have been hesitant to more aggressively pursue the offenders within the Iranian military due to the recent rise of a more reformist government and a desire to enhance relations with Iran at the time. [a trend that has ended since bush has been in office...wonder why? could it be his incredible diplomacy skills?]

A U.S. federal court has found that the Khobar Towers bombing was authorized by Ali Khamenei, then leader of Iran.

    so what are you smoking?

1998 American Embassies in Africa are blow up and destroyed by Al Qaeda

In response to the bombings, U.S. President Bill Clinton ordered Operation Infinite Reach, a series of cruise missile strikes on terrorist targets in Sudan and Afghanistan on August 20, 1998

2000 USS Cole attacked 17 naval personell die, thanks to who? Al Qaeda

Evidence of al-Qaeda’s involvement was inconclusive for months after the attack. The staff of the 9-11 Commission found that al-Qaeda’s direction of the bombing was under investigation but “increasingly clear” on November 11, 2000. It was an “unproven assumption” in late November. By December 21 the CIA had made a “preliminary judgment” that “al Qaeda appeared to have supported the attack,” with no “definitive conclusion.”[11]

Accounts thereafter are varied and somewhat contradictory.

Then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice told the Commission that when the administration took office on January 20, 2001, “We knew that there was speculation that the 2000 Cole attack was al Qaeda… We received, I think, on January 25th the same assessment [of al-Qaeda responsibility]. It was preliminary. It was not clear.”

so the cole bombing fell on the bush administration…and they did nothing.

on the contrary, clinton actually had a pretty good record of responding to terrorist attacks, once they knew who was responsible.

one more thing, conservatron, where is osama? dead or alive? how come it took 411 days to begin investigating 9/11?

Let us see, under Clinton Bin Laden said, “The United States is a paper tiger.” and in 1996 declared war on the USA.

Bush inherited a war that started under President Clinton. Study some history before you talk out of your smelly ass.

Clinton sent out lawyers to go after Al Qaeda and Bin Laden. When the military had the chance to kill Bin Laden, the Clinton administration said no. Wonder why, eh?

Bin Laden kep on denegrading the USA while Clinton was at the helm.

After 9/11, which was part of a war that had started under Clinton, Bin Laden lives in a cave and doesn’t say squat about the USA. Instead pissing in his tunic and crying like a baby the coward sends out his terrorist followers to give messages to the world.

furthermore, why are you so willing to claim that it is because of Bush that these people died, (obviously the number you give is completly erroneous) yet you aren’t willing to put the blame on Al Qaeda, the terrorists.

And if this number were accuarete, why don’t you speak about the millions of Iraqis that died under Hussein. If you are so worried about deaths, why don’t you speak about the millions that died under Hussein, you pathetic worm, hypocrite.

Their list of Clinton’s failures, for one thing is nothing worse then Bush achieved, indeed Bush actually sucks harder then Clinton simply off of the fact that unlike Clinton, Bush actually had something to work off of when he started and he ignored it.

Further, I am quite happy to learn that the troll claim that Clinton slashed military funding is false. I would be surprised but the truth is, you simply cannot trust what a conservative tells you, because they are liars.

I don’t know why you conservatives seem to hate science so much, no matter what the field you guys seem to feel the need to stifle research and ignore findings which go against you. You seem to have this distinct belief, deep in your souls, that there is a global conspiracy out to get you.

Well there isn’t. You just aren’t that interesting. The rest of us, we’ve noticed things like snow in Jo’burg (Bloody rare) hurricanes of record breaking strength, heatwaves sweeping across whole continents, and a whole lot of ice melting.

We have enquired into why this happening, and our best scientific minds have worked on the problem and told us that in all likelyhood, the climate is changing due to human actions. We have chosen to try and do something about it, because we do not like the new weather patterns that are emerging, you have chosen to do nothing, because you do not like people who are brighter then you.

What I don’t agree with is when people like Al Gore say that man is causing the planet to warm or theat the ice caps are going to melt in our life time or that we can reverse global warming. Yes we can help postpone what is already in motion but to say we can stop it is just plain stupid. The planet has warmed and cooled before well before man came along and I have yet to hear on this blog how that happened and what caused it. I probably has been explained in another thread but I would like to hear it again if anyone care to take shot at it.
