Earlier today, Brazilian authorities “obtained a court injunction suspending the Live Earth show in Rio de Janeiro on concerns about security.” But Brazilian judge Denise Tarin has “revoked her own injunction,” meaning that the only free concert in the Live Earth series is back on. Take the Live Earth Pledge HERE.

There’s a lot of fools on the hill. Capitol Hill that is.

As part of the Live Earth Pledge Al Gore just asked people to “join with others in preserving and protecting forests.”
Forests really do store a lot of carbon in both the plants and the soil, but logging unfortunately releases massive amounts of carbon. There are alternatives that could really help, such as thinning instead of clearcutting, and allowing tree farms to grow for longer periods before they are harvested. It should be obvious that we need to protect all of the last remaining old-growth forests which are like giant carbon reservoirs.

We really need to respect all of life on our planet because “Life” is the “carbon pump” that will ultimately bring atmospheric carbon levels down so that future generations can continue to enjoy a livable climate.
