    I am the law!

  2. RUCerious says:

This poll’s just another goddamn piece of paper!

  3. Mark @ News Corpse says:

Bush doesn’t care who disapproves of him.

Impeachment is the only thing that will spark his interest.

  4. Badmoodman says:

Scooter and Bush joined at 69. Uh huh, I can see that, alright.

  5. DM says:

Polls. The reminder of how people would decide; and the even stronger reminder that the decision has been stolen from them.

  6. hellinabucket says:

69% that’s way past mandate numbers. It looks like the American people have built up quite a bit of political equity. It’s time to go spend some.

    Let’s start by impeaching Cheney.

  7. Eskwaya says:

Yeah. If 51% in 2004 was “Mandate” for Bush, then the 73% disapproval ought to be the Democratic campaign for impeachment.

  8. Eskwaya says:

How is it that with the all of the opinion polls that I’ve never been asked? Have any of you ever been asked?

  9. Mr. President says:

    CHENEY 2008!!!

  10. dixie blood says:

    69 percent

That sounds like a very sexy impeachment number!!!

  11. Mr. President says:

Does this poll differentiate between those who thought Libby should go to jail, and those who thought he should have been given a full pardon?

    This poll says nothing!

  12. veritas says:

    Time to unseat The Shrub!

  13. veritas says:

Indeed, Dixie Blood! The Sexy Impeachment Number will be Bush’s all-important legacy!

  14. Robert says:

Any poll that doesn’t make my hero, George W. Bush looks good is a sham! /Troll Logic

  15. veritas says:

Hey Congress! Did you hear that???? Perhaps we have to speak louder then?? Impeachment number is 69%…this is well over the 50% mark which is bad enough….It’s time for Bush to go!

  16. Mr. President says:

Does this poll differentiate between those who thought Libby should go to jail, and those who thought he should have been given a full pardon?

    This poll says nothing!

  17. Jeremy says:

And looking at that…let’s break it down further.

    Republicans:
    50% approve, 47% disapprove, 3% unsure/don’t care

They don’t even get a majority of their own people agreeing this was a good idea. Ouch.

    Democrat
    13% approve, 76% disapprove, 11% unsure/don’t care

The only surprise here is that there are 11% who aren’t sure or don’t care.

    Independents
    19% approve, 80% disapprove, 1% unsure/don’t care

    Oh….my…..GAWD.

Republicans, I keep telling you. Piss off the Independents, and you lose. BIG time. More Independents disapprove of your choice than Democrats do. Bush? You’ve stirred up a hornets nest.

I just wish this translated into stronger impeachment numbers, but right now, if the House were to begin investigating Bush with a possible impeachment down the pike, maybe enough shit would come out that Bush would start changing his tune or getting the heck out of dodge.

  18. CT_V1 says:

I support a full pardon. So according to the logic of this poll, I’m opposed to the commutation.

    I must be a 69%-er.

    YaY.

  19. Robert says:

The Poll say nothing cuz I don’t like what is says! Waaaah.

  20. BruinKid says:

    @ #11

The next question asked if Libby should be given a full pardon. 84% of voters opposed that, including 97% of Independents.

BTW, I thought the more important numbers in this poll were the percent of Americans who want to IMPEACH Bush and Cheney.

  21. Jeremy says:

Mr. P? Click the link. Look at Question #3.

    ===============================================
    Question:
Do you favor or oppose a complete presidential pardon for Mr. Libby?
    7/5/07 Favor Oppose Undecided
    All Adults 11% 84% 5%
    Voters 9% 84% 7%
    Democrats (38%) 7% 82% 11%
    Republicans (29%) 23% 70% 7%
    Independents (33%) 2% 97% 1%
    ===============================================

Really, Mr. P. You’re making this too easy. Go back to Rove and get more talking points. Oh, and yes. PLEASE Pardon Libby. Monday Morning at 9:00am on National TV. That would be just dandy. ;)

  22. Mr. President says:

Does this poll differentiate between those who thought Libby should go to jail, and those who thought he should have been given a full pardon?

    This poll says nothing!

  23. Dan says:

Uh, the nest question makes it clear that the “oppose the commutation” segment is not skewed by the tiny minority who believe a full pardon is warranted.

Look at those numbers for Independents. Good luck in ‘08 GOP!

  24. bob says:

    re 18,

so you’d rather scooter goes to jail rather than the commutation, right?
    Otherwise, you’re just being a disingenuous troll….

  25. Spudge_Boy says:

How is it that with the all of the opinion polls that I’ve never been asked? Have any of you ever been asked?

    Comment by Eskwaya — July 6, 2007 @ 4:32 pm

    I have.

ANd that is the scariest thing because I now firmly believe that 26% of America needs to have their head checked, because they are real. I just can’t find any anywhere. Even in red states. The 26%ers are like Wild North American Snipe.

  26. Mr. President says:

    Jihad Jeremy,

That question has nothing to do with the question at hand.

  27. Jeremy says:

Try again, Mr. P. Repeating the disproved talking point doesn’t work.

    Question:
Do you favor or oppose a complete presidential pardon for Mr. Libby?
    7/5/07 Favor Oppose Undecided
    All Adults 11% 84% 5%

    Republicans (29%) 23% 70% 7%
    Independents (33%) 2% 97% 1%

  28. chimpeach says:

Gee, and with all the Republican presidential candidates applauding Bush for commuting Libby’s sentence…do you think that might not bode well for their chances in ‘08?

This is hilarious. They’re fighting each other over a measly 26% of the vote, Bush’s base, which continues to shrink. I can’t wait for the next GOP debate where they all say again how wonderfully the surge is working and how much they want to invade Iran.

  29. Mr. President says:

    Jihad Jeremy,

That question has nothing to do with the question at hand.

Does this question in the poll differentiate between those who thought Libby should go to jail, and those who thought he should have been given a full pardon?

    This poll says nothing!

  30. Jeremy says:

Does this poll differentiate between those who thought Libby should go to jail, and those who thought he should have been given a full pardon?

Do you favor or oppose a complete presidential pardon for Mr. Libby?

    =================================================
    Mr. P’s. so-called Argument: “LALALA! I CAN’T HEAR YOU!”

So much like the name he picks.

  31. Dan says:

And they can only find 29% who will self-identify as Republican.

  32. dixie blood says:

Republicans, I keep telling you. Piss off the Independents, and you lose. BIG time. More Independents disapprove of your choice than Democrats do. Bush? You’ve stirred up a hornets nest.

How sweet is it that Repugniscums are now the dumbest, political farm animals on Earth?

What took you so long “Independents?”

  33. Mr. President says:

    Jihad Jeremy,

The next 18 months or so is nothing but icing on the criminal cake that they’re woofing down like Rush does his tapioca pudding.

  35. LandSurveyor says:

This poll should have been done prior to Libby’s release.

  36. Robert says:

The Bush supporting trolls love perjury.

  37. Jeremy says:

Mr. P. Keep deluding yourself. Tell you what. This poll does say nothing. So, go out on the Whitehouse lawn Monday morning and give Libby a full Presidential Pardon. Please. :) On National TV. And published in every national newspaper. PLEASE. :) After all, your base wants you to pardon Libby! Come on! Plllleeeeeaaase! :) :) :)

(BTW, you know, they asked the interviewed people four questions when they called. One was the question you’re harping on. The second — I goofed — was the question I’m pointing to. And the third and forth? One was asking if the House should impeach you. The other was asking if the House should impeach your puppetmaster. ;) )

And dixie blood? Well, we do have a taste for various ideologies. Since we’re independent, I can’t speak for my fellow I’s. But I personally would like a party with Goldwater style Republican fiscal sense and Democratic views on how many eyeballs to put in my bedroom, with a little support for people who need it, and encouragement to do their own thing soon. But then again, Gore wasn’t that good of a candidate back in 2000. Had he had a bit more fire, maybe he’d have been electable. Remember that in ‘08, and PLEASE, don’t make me hold my breath voting for Hillery….PLEASE.

  38. erock says:

    This poll says nothing!

    Comment by Mr. President — July 6, 2007 @ 4:50 pm

Even if we assume that the portion who approved that the commutation was wrong, 69%, and the portion that thought he deserved a full pardon, 9% entirely overlapped. 60% still favored Libby doing prison time. This, by the way, is a terrible assumption but still represents the best possible case for Bush.

Forget Miller time … it’s IMPEACHMENT time!

  42. Jeremy says:

So, Mr. P. Gonna pardon Libby Monday morning? Please, we want you too. Get on the phone with old Rover and tell him to cut Libby a check for $200,400 with a letter crafted to Scooter telling him that he doesn’t have to worry about the bad coppers anymore. PLLLEEEEAAASEE. Go for it! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Let’s watch that impeachment number fall after you do it. *covers mouth, but the smile is evident in his eyes*

  43. veritas says:

When the trolls can’t even provide meager rebuttal, you know these numbers mean that Bush is officially down the $hithole!

26%???? Wow! How can you fail to impeach a president so out of touch with the people who pay his salary???

26%??? He’s right up there in the “worst three” now…alongside Nixon who was impeached and Truman…..

Next week he’ll trump even their abysmal numbers if he keeps on like this.

Guess he won’t be satisfied until his numbers are in the single digits!

  44. veritas says:

Hi Jeremy…nice to see another “I” on these threads!

  45. veritas says:

I’s have become the “fastest growing non-party” in the country….and we do have great power to wield in 08. Do not underestimate the “power of the I” in 08….new bumper sticker??

  46. veritas says:

Or perhaps it could be “the I of the storm”?? As I (and some other I’s) see it, it’s the dem’s to lose at this point.

  47. erock says:

    Comment by Jeremy — July 6, 2007 @ 5:06 pm

  48. veritas says:

The I’s will keep both sides of the I-sle (aisle) in check – there’s no doubt about it. We’re growing so fast that we’ve now eclipsed those who still call themselves Republicans!! Remember that dying breed from the dark ages??

  49. veritas says:

Don’t mind the idiot trolls on board, Jeremy. They’re the best Independent (& Democratic) recruiting tool in the country! Just freeze them out and they slink away into their slimy holes.

    LMFAO!!!

Gore was elected by the popular vote. The Repugniscums (with aid of F*uks nOoze) tossed it to Daddy Botch’s SCOTUS!! They ph*cked us into the ground using baseless legalistic crap language and GAVE the POTUS to GW Botch Jr.!!! The Moron King!!!

In my opinion, this crystallizes the issue:

“To allow this administration to complacently sit in office while we wait for the clock to run out is an act of moral cowardice. It tells the world (and future generations of Americans) that we as a nation don’t care about the laws, human rights, or anything else that interferes with our immediate comfort.

I for one would like to know how you proved Jeremy wrong. When all I seen was a bunch of deniles. If anyone is so igonarant it is you and I think this is why the right don’t seem so igonarant of the facts and of reality.

  62. spit take says:

dogtrotters, no one’s buying your act. You gave up the game on the other thread when you claimed to be a “liberal” who watched Faux News because CNN was “too anti-American”.

I doubt if anyone ever thought dogtrooters was anything but a troll, Verbal. The post I mentioned was the first time I had seen dt post anything, and of course, it was a dead giveaway. Nothing it has posted since that I have seen has suggested any different.

  68. Marie says:

I am so weary of polls – they tell me that we have been on the right track all along and the populace is finally getting on board.
But what good does it do. It vallidates me – if I needed validation.
But it doesn’t change anything. Everything remains the same.
Bush does as he pleases, how and when he pleases; his enormous ego coupled with his deep dispassion, more like antipathy, toward his fellow man, and his prickly and obstinate personality, his arrogance and belligerence do not allow for him to care, much less alter his behavior.

  69. cc says:

25% Number of voters who will think Libby is relevant by November ‘08. ;)

    False question…he wasn’t given a full pardon.

  72. Mr. President says:

Gah. when will you libs realize that you can’t reason with us, it’s blunt force politics all the way, rewrite the rules when needed, or ignore them if thats not possible and every so often blame Clinton, we’ve been running on this baseless platform of politics forever, we’ve quietly subverted the media over time, we did learn something during Vietnam….no it wasn’t regarding the will of the majority, please you plebes must be kept in the dark, destroying Net Neutrality is our next major initiative, we didn’t see that one coming, but we’re working hard to eliminate democracy there like we’ve done with radio and TV…our method of twisting your own strongest arguments against you in conjunction with obfuscation of the facts, lying, smearing and our synergy with corporate America’s like minded objectives have neutered this democracy, let the free market reign! Enjoy the Prisoners Dilemma that we’ve installed as your life, it’s the way we do things, well in a paranoid schizophrenic way that is.

  73. none says:

“69 percent: Number of voting Americans…”

Actually, that’s a percentage of Americans. A number of Americans would be 50 million or, you know, two.
