The AP reports, “Since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the number of [embassy] posts deemed too dangerous for U.S. diplomats to bring families has doubled, from 10 to 21.” Americans posted to embassies face lockdowns and severe travel restrictions. “The policy we have for diplomatic security actually makes us less secure as a nation because it limits our ability to carry out our mission in critical environments,” said former senior Foreign Service officer Patrick Fine.
Yet another failure for the Chimpy Regime.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:16 amp.s. Has anyone seen our anthrax investigation lately…
…Anybody???
July 7th, 2007 at 10:19 amOf course we’re safer due to our flawless anti-terror strategies. That’s why 2001 targets Washington DC and New York went so strongly Republican in 2004.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:24 am#2 – Wasn’t it determined that bin Sadam did it?
July 7th, 2007 at 10:25 amWell, this was only to be expected. 9/11 was the first shot in this existential struggle between western civilization and islamofascism, and the world is becoming more and more dangerous for Americans.
It is, therefore, imperative that America remains safe.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:28 amWe are safer here in the U.S.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:31 am4,
Oh, that’s right! Now I remember…it was Saddam bin Islamicguy.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:31 amMay muslimshiteaters ™ forever lose all battles against the west.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:32 amFrankie knows all about fascism, since he’s a self-admitted fascist.
At least he’s honest about being a dirty rotten scumbag.
The rest 0f the Repukes are closet fascists.
July 7th, 2007 at 10:34 amStupid Repuke trolls.
They think we’re safer in the US today, after Chimpy left our borders wide open.
You’re an idiot Jake. All you Repuke trolls are idiots.

Thanks Frank. Now that you have declared 9/11 the FIRST shot, your buddies can spot blaming Clinton and get on with an honest critcal evaluation of the Administrations handling of these matters. So let’s begin…
July 7th, 2007 at 10:59 amI’ve never blamed Clinton for anything. He was the commander-in-chief back then and actually had the balls to resort to the use of military force in Kosovo.
9/11 happened on current president’s watch and he’s been waging the war against the enemy ever since. Too bad he’s been forced to fight the war with one hand tied behind his back. The enemy is something like we’ve never fought before, but some people in the legislative and judicial branches are still fighting the last war.
July 7th, 2007 at 11:07 am“9/11 was the first shot in this existential struggle between western civilization and islamofascism”
Western Civilization. Ha.
I prefer to think of J. S. Bach as an example of western civilization. I place “rendition for purposes of torture” under the label of the barbaric stuff that most groups of humans everywhere, east or west, seem to almost want to reduce themselves to.
What’s “existential” about it, Frank? Please define that term. It doesn’t mean “uh, having a right to … uh, exist and stuff.” Just so you know.

And it makes it difficult to win ANY war when you are invading the WRONG country! If he had the balls to stay in Afghanistan with half the manpower that is in Iraq AND went after Saudi Arbia, where almost all the 9/11 attackers and most of the funding came from, I would agree.
But Dubya and his Daddy are in bed with the Bin Laden family in the Carlyle Group and can’t hurt their friends.
But you could never understand that, could you?
It is like shooting at an elephant and expecting to kill a tiger…. just won’t be too successful!
July 7th, 2007 at 12:01 pmWe’ve been attacked 9 times in the six and a half years since Bush stole office, but for some reason the “Librul” media hasn’t reported on this fact.
We were attacked a total of 6 times during Clinton’s eight years in office.

July 7th, 2007 at 12:14 pmOh you guys and your “fuzzy” math
Safer ay?
Thanks to Bush, we are now the most hated country on the planet.
:|
US Diplomats are under unprecedented threats abroad, and Americans travelling abroad are under state dept advisories in more countries than ever before.
Gee, I feel so much safer.
THANKS DUMBYA!
July 7th, 2007 at 12:43 pmAlso, world terrorism has tripled under the Republics’ watch.
This is what comes of letting degenerates run a country.

A war tends to do that to ya
July 7th, 2007 at 12:53 pmWhere is Osama bin Laden?
July 7th, 2007 at 1:11 pm“existential struggle between western civilization and islamofascism,”
Please explain to us what this existential struggle is. I’m very curious to see what you come up with.
Black and white, good and evil, up and down, never anything in between. That’s the neoCON mentality.
July 7th, 2007 at 1:53 pmYou neoCONS keep saying we are ever so much safer here because there has not been another attack on US soil since 9-11. What you are missing is that Al-Qaeda has no need to attack us here to ruin our country. Bush is doing it for them from within. One of Osama’s goals was to bankrupt us. Well, Bush has done that for him. One of Osama’s goals was to get our military base out of Saudia Arabia. Well, Bush did it for him. One of his goals was to make Americans fearful. Well, Bush did that for him too.
I would feel safer if our government would do something about our ports and other transportation points into this country, as was the 911 Committee recommendation. But, the Republics are blocking the bills that the Democrats are trying to pass to do this.
July 7th, 2007 at 1:59 pmGood god, Katie! Stop, drop and roll, cuz you are on fire today! Wow.
July 7th, 2007 at 2:11 pmI must have missed where the U.S. filed for Chapter 7. It must have been because of all that money we HAVE spent on the border and port security. I am not fearful, though, that’s for sure. I have a place in Heaven.
July 7th, 2007 at 2:59 pmWe’re winning the war on terror. No islamic terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11. This is what victory is all about. Protecting America.

WTF is this idiot talking about? Herr Brusch had a complete rubberstamp of anything he wanted for 6 yrs. All the Dems have tried to do is put ome checks and balances in place.
July 7th, 2007 at 3:16 pmJake, surely you must realize that the Federal Government can NEVER declare “bankruptcy” (one, after all, has to go to a Federal Court in order to do so). When the Feds run out of money, they simply raise taxes or “borrow” money. Now, with the Bushies in charge, the former is a bit hard since the only REAL money that they can tax in order to raise enough cash to stave off “bankruptcy” is on the multi-millionaires (individuals AND corporations) who have so benefitted from Dubya’s misguided tax cuts. Those of us who earn less than $100,000/year can’t afford to have our taxes raised enough to keep Dubya’s buddies’ tax cuts intact and still be able to be good consumers. As for the borrowing option, the US already ranks as one of the (if not THE) top debtor nations in the world (based more on actual dollars, if not GNP percentage).
July 7th, 2007 at 3:16 pmOh, and if you do “have a place in Heaven”, why not go on now and see just how real that place is? (It always amazes me how those who are so certain they’ll go to Heaven always want to hang around on Earth for as long as possible. If Heaven’s all it’s cracked up to be, then by all means, go now.)
We’re winning the war on terror.

How do you defeat an emotion?
July 7th, 2007 at 3:17 pmDuh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 7th, 2007 at 5:23 pmBut George W Bush made the whole world a happier, safer place.
The Iraq war and our rush to war has made us less safe than we were before 9-11. Bush deserves blame for this fact. He took us to war with a country that posed no national security threat to us. Iraq had no WMDS and had no connection to bin Laden or 9-11. There are more terrorists today in the world than there were before we went to Iraq. Bush is responsible for this. Our diplomatic core is on the front lines facing the danger created by the ridiculous policy of nation building.
July 7th, 2007 at 5:47 pmTUZ KHORMATO, Iraq – A suicide truck bomber blasted a Shiite town north of Baghdad on Saturday, killing more than 100 people, police said, in a sign Sunni insurgents are pulling away from a U.S. offensive around the capital to attack where security is thinner.
The marketplace devastation underlined a hard reality in Iraq: There are not enough forces to protect everywhere. U.S. troops, already increased by 28,000 this year, are focused on bringing calm to Baghdad, while the Iraqi military and police remain overstretched and undertrained.

So what about the 4,000 Americans killed in Iraq? They don’t count? You have to die here for it to matter?
You’re an extremely selfish pr!ck. I’m sure the troops really appreciate your conceit.
July 7th, 2007 at 5:53 pm2100+ days since last terrorist attach on domestic soil.
Thanks again President Bush!!!
July 8th, 2007 at 12:10 amI sleep very well at night knowing US troops and the Commander in Chief Bush are not sleeping at the wheel and keeping the US safe.
God bless President Bush!!!
July 8th, 2007 at 12:14 am> We’re winning the war on terror.
Can we declare victory yet? Please give a definition of “victory” in the “war” on “terror”.. is there a list of terrorists somewhere that we can mark off as we kill?
Yes, we’re in a horrible struggle with islamofascists, who so far have proved almost as deadly to americans as lightning, syphillus, and slipping in the tub.
Any of you chest humping flaghumpers care to tell me how much more likely is that a fellow american will end your life, compared to the likelyhood a foreigner would do so?
