Clearly Vitter doesn’t practice what he preaches. This shows a double standard on his part. He preached abstinence yet he was himself going to prostitutes. We see this in the religious right all the time. Jimmy Swaggert too didn’t practice what he preached. As did Ted Haggard. This shows that Vitter didn’t practice the morality he preached. Even though the statute of limitations has run out Vitter clearly broke the law by soliciting. He’s a hypocrite and an embarrassment.

I say that since conservatives campaign on the platform “I don’t have the wrong type of sex and my opponent does”, then it is hypocrisy when Vitter gets caught and not if Barney Frank gets caught.

Religious people say “forgive and forget” and we have been hearing about the Monica thing for nine solid years.

Why is it taboo to talk about Eisenhower’s sex with his chauffer? Or GHW Bush’s sex with the DC secretary, Jennifer? Or Nancy being two months pregnant when she married Ronnie?

Daryll is a whack-a-troll. He amuses us with his Puritanical/medieval mutterings, so we all pretty much see him as free entertainment (he only represents about 5% of the population, so heâ€™s irrelevant, which is why we engage him. Itâ€™s become a ritual. Oh, and Daryll usually only shows up on gay threads to act like a hypocrite, even though he knows that we know heâ€™s really homosexual.)
