My soon to be 13 year old blonde daughter has been in student council and on leadership committee for 3 years. She’s already been to our state capitol to talk to representative and just returned from a week at student council administration camp. She watches the news, reads newspapers and gets straight As in Social Studies. And she cries at the drop of a hat.

The difference is I don’t “teach” my daughter liberal values. I let her read and see the facts and decide what she believes. And we live in a strictly Republican district and I would not encourage her to espouse liberal ideals at school because I try to protect her from the wrath of other students and their parents. Do you have any idea how evolution works? (I doubt it.) Evolutionary changes take many generations to transform species. Given that timeframe, how do you know that apes are NOT evolving into human-like species?
They obviously won’t evolve into “humans” because humans are already here. They will evolve, if natural pressures and genetic potential demand it, into different creatures, ones that do not exist today. But then, you wouldn’t know that, because your view of evolution, like your view of most sophisticated concepts, is cartoonish and ignorant.

Do you have any idea how evolution works? (I doubt it.) Evolutionary changes take many generations to transform species. Given that timeframe, how do you know that apes are NOT evolving into human-like species?
They obviously won’t evolve into “humans†because humans are already here. They will evolve, if natural pressures and genetic potential demand it, into different creatures, ones that do not exist today. But then, you wouldn’t know that, because your view of evolution, like your view of most sophisticated concepts, is cartoonish and ignorant.

The notion that the most highly paid, most powerful public employee in the country shouldn’t be subjected to mean old questions is laughable, a confection to disguise a less tastey confection. That George Bush is dumb as a post, rigid, uncurious and as mean-spirited as a hornet. He wouldn’t pass the emotional profile quiz handed out to would be cashiers at Borders.
Bush made fun of this teenager because he was angry; he was angry because he was frightened. He was frightened because her question pointed out a weakness and a failure Bush couldn’t admit or do anything about. Her one little question demonstrated that she’s more emotionally mature than the president of the United States.

I was being sarcastic. My point is that if we ban religion outright perhaps those things I mentioned would be apporopriate. In otherwords, we place more faith in the elected and popoulous views than we place in God. If the result is “rational thinking” then we may be in more trouble. Not to say that rational thinking is denied because some belive in Christ, but because those who want to ban religion may want to control freedom of religion. Religon causes harm because of men. Non-religious cause harm because of men.

Right everybody makes A’s in social studies when they are homeschooled and mommy grades their papers.
No, referring to public schools. Your bigotry on homeschooling doesn’t make sense, however. Did you know that more minorities (black Americans, especially) are turning to home-schooling around the country, confident that they will achieve more than the public schools of every type that have let them down? Do your bigoted and uneducated views count towards them? They like the results. I’ll locate the link.

Again, I think you’re proving that your daughter isn’t so good after all. Don’t worry, because given your mother-load, she’ll be in her rebellious stage in a few - doing drugs, having unprotected sex (the pass-around), running away from home, etc. Your overrated assessments (AKA cover-ups) will sure come in handy then.
How many community colleges did you have to apply to before you got accepted?
I got in the same way that millions of others have, using it as a stronghold and carefully planning my program to get into a good school. There’s a good track record, so why would I take your word for anything? Most people disagree with you, so run along, grape nuts. Put up or shut up. Your own perceptions are insufficient.

July 11th, 2007 at 1:30 pmDaryll, I understand where you’re going. But, take time to understand that there is more to belief in God. Love others. Before you try to do persuade on-line its better to work on yourself. Its hard to hold back, but this is not the place to prostelize.
I wonder how Daryll reconiles with the Pope who just said something to the effect of the Catholic Church is the only real church that can save a soul since it has direct descending lines to the Apostles.
So according to the Pope Daryll, you’ll be close but you won’t be allowed in unless you are Catholic.

Actually, Darryl, I think I’m OK with evolution. Mike and Tony are too. Peter and Steve left the band a while ago, so I couldn’t vouch for them.

Daryll is simply trying to pound the same arguments through everyone else’s heads, and everyone else is egging him on by responding, usually with sarcasm and/or obscenity.
