Vitter is a disgrace, and those republicans who preach morality and up hold the sanctity of marriage should call on him to resign. If he was taking these calls while he was in the House and it was in session, then the Ethics committee needs to take steps to remove Vitter from office like Foley. He broke the law.

Someone should put a hold on Holsinger's nomination so it doesn't move forward or out of the committee. He doesn't deserve this position. His bias is both bigoted and factually inaccurate. People with his views often discriminate against Gay Americans in the workplace. It should not be tolerated. Discrimination is against the law. Homosexuality is as normal as heterosexuality.

Bush stepped outside his powers of clemency when he commuted Libby's sentence. The judge's sentence should have been allowed to stand and Libby should have served his full sentence. He broke the law and should pay for his crimes. Libby is not above the law neither is Bush who commuted Libby's sentence to save himself and Cheney from potential prosecution. Bush didn't respect the rule of law.

These payments are the military's responsibility. This is unconscionable and is a disservice to our troops and their sacrifices to this nation. Our troops lay their lives on the line for us. We owe it to them to get this policy right. Like the Walter Reed scandal we need to take better care of our troops.

Al Qaeda is by no means an Iraqi phenomenon. Bush couldn't even provide any proof at this press conference how al Qaeda in Iraq was specifically related to bin Laden or the organization in Afghanistan. These people may identify with bin Laden and his ideology but there is no proof they are receiving resources from him. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 or bin Laden. We invaded the wrong country, in the wrong place and at the wrong time. There were no WMDs, we were lied into this war.

For the record, if one disagrees with me, IN A CIVIL MANNER, I would be more than happy to discuss these issues with said person. I will even discuss the concept of “Just Wars” with said person.

For the record, jackass, NO ONE on or off of your precious ignore list wants to hear your ideas on anything. What part of this do you not understand?

dead thread, but... after having to break away earlier,
i remembered something, and must take the time to post this:

most of what i learned about INHERENT CONTEMPT came from
listening to RANDI RHODES during the drive home...
she repeated, and went into greater detail, the process which
was brought up by a caller AND john dean the day before...

ed's been outspoken about IMPEACHMENT this week...
as has randi - good that both have come around to this and
are putting it out there...
hartman has always called for it...

it's working!

"... separated under the personality disorder discharge.” ABC News explains, “This diagnosis means the personality disorder existed before military service, and therefore medical care and disability payments are not the military’s responsibility.”
--------------------------------------------
Nice! The military has learned from the insurance companies how to exclude people from their medical expense pool.

Preexisting conditions, particularly in the case of PTSS can now be easily attributed to prior "personal disorder" to avoid payments. What a great country we live in, when a president can send thousands to serve as IED fodder, and then have his underlings refusing to treat seriously distrurbed soldiers. A pox on the Army!

Now we are to believe that Vitter confused and asked forgiveness to something he didn't do. Then there's the other prostitute who identified Vitters as a customer yet he didn't to that either. I guess Americans are dumb enough to believe this Religious Senator never did anything and just move on. Maybe we should just allow Republicans who preach one thing and do another alone. We can always attack others who use prostitutes services. I now understand what Karl Rove was saying about how Republicans are the example of Christian, family, moral Values of American and all should vote for them and use them as examples of what to do.

#131 Katy…As you know I was posting about Inherent Contempt vigorously yesterday. I don’t have the time to do so today. But I did stop by here to see if anybody else was talking about it. Good to see at least one person is…YOU.
[...]
Comment by Larry from C — July 13, 2007 @ 1:22 pm

i was absent from TP yesterday...
driving to st.louis and back... away from the puter, so was unable to stream AirAmericaRadio (thom hartmann), which means listening to XM, which means ed schultz... a confessison: have had to listen to ed more than i had wanted to and find that it is better than i thought, at times...

but this is where i learned about barbara boxer's comment - to ed -
about this country being too close to a dictatorship...

seems that story is being picked up by blitzer tonight - that and the
outcry for IMPEACHMENT and going to hit the mainstream airwaves...

that's what it's gonna take - let the peoples know it's what needs to
be talked about to put pressure on the congress...

This is part of the problem we have as independents/progressives/liberals. We like to jump from problem to problem. If we just focused on a few big issues we might be more effective.

Inherent Contempt is not a one day issue. It may be our last remaining "weapon" to bring the neo-cons to accountability. I hope everybody is still jamming the phones of their reps. demanding Inherent Contempt being brought up against Harriet Miers yesterday. I turned on the radio today and she hasn't been charged yet!! WHY?? It is beyond belief that she didn't even show up to testify. Either we have a system of justice or we don't. And if we don't we have ANARCHY.

Tell your rep. you want Harriet Miers brought up on charges on Inherent Contempt. The Capitol Police will CUFF HER and drag her into the House of Representatives where she will IMMEDIATELY go on trial! We must make this happen!

Nancy Pelosi: 1-202-225-0100
Harry Reid: 1-202-224-3542
John Conyers: 1-202-225-5126

As for me, I have never dealt with this much vitriol and confused thinking in my life.

But he wasn’t used to that gadget, and he quickly found himself in the vicious cycle of trimming each end of the ’stache in an effort to even it out. Before he knew it, there was not enough left to salvage. ‘It was TSA,’ Price repeated. ‘That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.’”

i understand tht's the exact thing that happened to Hitler and Charlie Chaplain.

PatriotActor ~
It wouldn't matter, since probation can only be imposed once a jail sentence is completed, so no jail, no probation, that's part of the confusing shit. He's welcome to visit Darth Veeper's office/torture chamber any time he needs an SM fix.

(I hate to interrupt all the troll-baiting, but I do have a comment not particularly related to it...)

The article about the judge being perplexed about the president's statements accompanying Libby's commutation said that part of the conditions of Libby's probation are to be "not associate with any persons engaged in criminal activity"... I can only assume this means Libby won't be returning to work in the vice president's office.

TP: "Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is standing idle while Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) keeps an unanimously approved ethics bill in limbo. “Mitch McConnell is making a big mistake sitting on his hands,” said Craig Holman, legislative representative for Public Citizen. “Now he’s letting his own rank-and-file undermine his image of authority.”

Let's see if I've got this right...apparently McConnell is content to "stand idle" while he is made out to be the good guy in this standoff. Who's to say this impasse isn't scripted as a win-win for the obstructionist minority?...the bill is stalled, McConnell slips the blame, and a junior is credited with being a rock in the gears.

Oops, that was me in post 124. The Trolls are probably licking Chertoff's boots and saying, "Yesssth, maahthter....", not questioning his foolish 'hunches' designed to start national panics.

Sorry to hear that. As for me, I have never dealt with this much vitriol and confused thinking in my life.

And in other news: http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN1241057620070712?pageNumber=2

Just a few days ago, Chertoff was saying: PHEAR! PHEEEAAR! THE TERRISTS ARE COMING! PHEEEEAAAAAARRRRR!!!1!!11!!1!1one!one!!1!1

That triggered speculation from pundits that Al Queda in the USA was about ready to strike with another September 11th Style attack. Talk about increased chatter, movement of resources, and patterns that looked like the summer before September 11th, 2001 emerged and were harped on by the so-called liberal media. They let it stay out like that for a few days, letting lines like 'terrorists will attack your neighborhood shopping mall if we pull out of Iraq' out from their little caves. Then suddenly...

Chertoff now: "Oh, I was just playing a hunch. There's nothing in particular out there that suggests that the Terrorists are about to make an attack. It was revealed that his hunch that we're going to encounter terrorists was not only a hunch but a so-called gut feeling. The media never once questioned why he's playing a hunch. They reported the other fools in the administration's claims with not so much as a single comment about inconsistencies in his and their stories.

PHEEEAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRBLARGH! is getting as old as CLINTON DID IT!!!!1!11!11!!!one!1, and yet the media still reports it as if it's gospel. When do we finally call bull on this once and for all?
