Bush On Saddam: ‘That Motherf*cker Tried To Take Out My Dad’»

bvb.jpg President Bush attempted to convince the nation that Saddam Hussein had WMD as justification for invading Iraq in 2003. In Oct. 2002, for example, he stated, “If we know Saddam Hussein has dangerous weapons today — and we do — does it make any sense for the world to wait to confront him as he grows even stronger and develops even more dangerous weapons?”

But today on the progressive radio program The Cappy McGarr Show, host Cappy McGarr reveals through a conversation with former Sen. Majority Leader Tom Daschle that in private, Bush’s real motivation was a personal vendetta:

Of all the reasons used to justify this awful war, the one that stunned me the most…and will shock you…was the one I heard from a close friend of mine former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle. Senator Daschle was Majority Leader at the time.

The Senate and The House Leadership were meeting with President Bush for a weekly breakfast back then, and as our country was leading up to the Iraq war. … Bush got to talking about why we needed this war, and here’s what he said to Senator Daschle “We need to get Saddam Hussein…that Mother _______ tried to take out my Dad.”

Listen to the audio:

Bush’s feelings for Saddam have long been intensely personal. In 2002, he said to CNN, “Oh, yes, I hate Saddam Hussein. I don’t hate a lot of people. I don’t hate easily.” Six days later at a fundraiser in Texas, Bush said, “There’s no doubt he [Saddam] can’t stand us. After all, this is the guy that tried to kill my dad at one time.” Bush was referring to an “alleged plot by Iraqi intelligence to assassinate Bush’s father.”

It’s troubling that Bush believed he could use U.S. troops as personal hitmen to avenge a grudge.

Digg It!

This is the kind of hearsay that cheapens our position in opposition to the war. This is little more than an urban legend. Bush’s motivation for war was his more complex than that, but mostly he has been the stooge of the neocons, used by them as point-man in their conquest of the middle east. Bush may have uttered that idiocy while posturing for media, but as far as motives go, he is more a symptom than a disease.

Kucinich rips Edwards on debate remarks

NEW YORK - An angry Dennis Kucinich lashed out at John Edwards on Friday, saying his Democratic rival showed “a consistent lack of integrity” by suggesting fewer candidates should participate in presidential forums and then trying to explain his remark to reporters.

Edwards? Integrity? Kucinich got something right!

  10. david Says:

Well, Bush is myopic. His whole worldview doesn’t go beyond family & friends. That’s why he seems likeable but is totally unsuited to the job of president.

As for impeachment, I don’t see any reason to be beating up Pelosi & Reid over this. That’s “preaching to the choir”. The fact is there is no hope of actually removing Bush or Cheney by impeachment at the moment; the Republican votes simply aren’t there.

And that’s just it. The Democratic rank & file have become as polarized as the Republicans. Well, that’s not how democracy works. It requires 67 senators to convict. It’s not a question of Democratic willpower, but of Republican disgust. If progressive liberals want Cheney and Bush impeached, they need to work on the Republicans who have been most critical of the White House. And an impeachment of Cheney might be possible now and an impeachment of Bush in the fall.

But stop devouring yourselves. It’s a bipartisan thing. And don’t forget that.

  16. Jackie Says:

Yes it is good to remind Americans why we invaded Iraq and the lies Bush told to get us there. Americans don’t mind letting thousands of soldiers die because Bush hates Saddam. The visits with the dead soldiers families must be interesting when Bush tells them thanks for giving you child up to die because Saddam tried to kill my Daddy. When you go in to something with a lie it never works. If Bush was so worried about how his Daddy feels he should try acting like a man and not a baby so his Daddy can stop crying of all the mess he’s making. Prescott Bush would disown George W. and Jeb as losers and weak/cowards.

If the Shrub uttered it at all, THAT cheapened HIS position for the war. Regardless of his “more complex” motivation, he shouldn’t have said it at all. (It falls right in with Ronnie’s “outlawing the Soviet Union; we begin bombing in 5 minutes” spiel as something frightening, but widely ignored.) The point is, EVEN if he said it jokingly (as he did when he looked for MWDs in the Oval Office), it should have been a wake-up call to the SCLM that the man was dangerous.

The 24 percent approval rating for Congress matched its previous low, which came in June 2006, five months before Democrats won control of the House and Senate due to public discontent with the job Republicans were doing.

Bush’s marks on his handling of the economy and domestic issues like health care, education and the environment, held steady, at 37 percent on the economy

On handling of foreign policy, including terrorism, 38 percent approved, compared with 35 percent last month.

On handling the Iraq war, 31 percent approved, compared with 28 percent last month.

  39. Badger Says:

I think two thoughts influenced George W. to Invade Iraq.

    1. His father was WRONG not to march on Baghdad in 1991, and FINISH the Job.
    2. Saddam would be easy to topple, and the Iraqis would turn their LIBERATION into a pro-American middle eastern democracy.

Many foreign policy experts, even Cheney himself, argued persuasively AGAINST marching on Baghdad in 1991.George H.W. Bush double crossed the Shiite’s and Kurds for fear of a pro-Iranian Shiite takeover after Desert Storm.
George W. was influenced by the Iraqi Exiles, including Ahmed Chalibi. He was probably an Iranian double agent. Iran’s power and influence over Iraq has blossomed .
Hindsight is 20/20 but Bush’s naivite’ and incompetence are staggering.

    1. His father was WRONG not to march on Baghdad in 1991, and FINISH the Job.

His father was WRONG to start the First Gulf War on the lie that divisions of tanks were positioned to invade Saudi Arabia, a claim disproven by commercial sattelite photography and exposed by the St. Petersburg times (to no fanfare).

Bush GAVE Saddam the go-ahead to invade Kuwait through his ambassador, by saying we had no position on how the two settled their dispute over Kuwait’s slant-drilling into Iraqi fields. Then Bush stabbed his old client Saddam in the back by lying the world into war with Saddam. No wonder Saddam wanted revenge; he had been personally betrayed by daddy Bush. Junior has no cause for complaint.

Doesn’t look like it’s going to happen during this election cycle, does it?

Harry Reid on the “Cappy McGarr Show”? Reid’s lost all credibility, the big radio boys won’t let him play anymore. Impeachment is off the table? Yup. Just as I have said all along. The Democrats in congress know that they will have their butts handed to them if they ever tried anything like that. Sorry folks. Must be another bad day for you Bush haters. Oy Vey!

I was watching old clips of the Dave Chapelle show last night and saw his “Black Bush” skit from 2004 in which he explained the reason for war. Chappell’s Bush first offered regime change as a reason but then asked “you want me to be real about it? He tried to kill my father … That *** tried to kill my father!!” (http://www.ifilm.com/video/2795970). Chapell’s point was to show how outrageous it would have been for Bush to publicly state his real motives, and implied that we would never have gone to war if he had done so.

Again, Bush proves that you parody bad form. He actually did say this stuff. Where was Dachle in publicizing this idiocy at the time?

George H.W. Bush did three things differently than his errant son.
!. He got a Big coalition of allies to fight and PAY FOR Desert Storm. (even Syria). World opinion was mostly with us.
    2. He used OVERWHELMING FORCE, as per the Powell Doctrine.

So, when you shout with glee about the horrendously low numbers the congress is receiving right now, have you ever stopped to ask yourself “why”?? It’s because the people want this corrupt, foul government of ours to be impeached, that’s why and it hasn’t happened. Until they begin making movement in the impeachment direction, the numbers will continue to drop. So, how, in your twisted, handicapped little pea brain can you revel in these numbers when you realize the reason behind them? I’d say it’s rather stupid of you to do so but I guess when one is ignorant they are clueless when they are outing themselves. What a shame for you that you can’t see what a total jackass you’re making out of yourself in gleefully discussing the numbers which, reflexively, reflect right back on your demented GOP and President. If Mr Daschle did indeed hear Herr Brusch speak these words, he shudda come forward a LOOOONG time ago and spoken up, much like Colin Powell recently did. 82. The Oracle Says:

So, Bush Jr.’s desire for revenge against Saddam Hussein led to him unilaterally trying to assassinate Saddam Hussein in a March 2003 missile strike and the subsequent invasion of Iraq by us, which has led to countless revenge killings of Iraqis by Iraqis between Iraqis and even the revenge killing of many of our soldiers supposedly in Iraq to establish democracy and the “rule of law”?

Sounds kind of insane to me.

But in keeping with the revenge theme of the entire Bush administration, then it is time for patriotic American citizens to exact political and moral revenge on two of the stupidest and most downright mean individuals ever to stink up the executive branch of our government and IMPEACH George W. Bush and Dick Cheney NOW.

That was my comment. I used the President Bush moniker for a joke yesterday AM, and when I posted this comment, I used the same computer and the moniker remained…unintentionally.

I have, however, left the link so that anyone (such as Mr. P yesterday) caring to know, would see that I wasn’t attempting to be deceptive, so much as clever.

The comment on THIS thread as ‘President Bush’ was unintentional.

  85. curmudgeon Says:

Let’s see…What has been the fate of those whose actions have not pleased the Fascist Reich?

    1 — John F. Kennedy — Murdered on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, TX

2 — Martin Luther King, Jr. — Prominent Baptist minister and civil rights leader. The youngest person ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. On April 4, 1968, King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.

3 — Robert F. Kennedy — Murdered on June 6, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA — moments after claiming victory in the California Democratic primary in his efforts to obtain the nomination to run for President.

4 — Former Democratic representative and House Majority Leader Hale Boggs. He was best known as one of the seven members of the Warren Commission, which investigated the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The commission found that Lee Harvey Oswald was acting alone when he killed the president. Boggs, it turns out, had “strong doubts” that Oswald acted alone, but went along with the commission findings. Later, in 1971 and 1972, he went public with his doubts. He was presumed dead after the small plane carrying him and Democratic Representative Nicholas Begich disappeared on October 16, 1972.

5 — Democratic Representative Jerry Litton (MO), whose plane crashed the night he won the Democratic nomination for U. S. Senate in 1976, killing him and his entire family. His Republican opponent ultimately captured the seat from his successor in November of 1976. Died — August 3, 1976

6 — Texas Democratic Representative Mickey Leland also died in a plane crash. The six-term member of Congress and outspoken advocate of sanctions against the apartheid government of South Africa, was also a spokesman for the hungry and poor. He represented the Texas 18th District, was a Democrat and was chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. He died along with 15 others in a plane crash in Gambela, Ethiopia on August 7, 1989.

7 — John Heinz (Teresa Heinz Kerry’s first husband) — A liberal Republican senator from Pennsylvania who entered office as an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War, and later emerged as a strong proponent of health care, social services, public transportation and the environment. He also urged reconciliation with Cuba. He died when the landing gear on his small plane failed to function, and a helicopter dispatched to survey the problem crashed into his plane. Died — April 4, 1991

8 — One former senator, John Tower, also died in a small plane crash. Tower was best known as the chair of the Tower Commission, which investigated the Reagan/Bush era Iran/Contra scandal. Died — April 5, 1991

9 — Another American politician to die overseas in a plane crash was the Clinton administration’s Commerce Secretary, Ronald Brown, whose plane went down in the Balkans. The African American was considered a rising star in the Democratic Party, and had been the chairman of the Democratic National Committee in 1989. There was considerable controversy regarding the cause of this crash. Died — April 3, 1996

10 — John F. Kennedy, Jr. — On July 16, 1999, at the age of 38, John F. Kennedy Jr. was killed along with his wife and his sister-in-law, Lauren Bessette, when the aircraft he was piloting, N9253N, a Piper Saratoga II HP, crashed on a hazy night into the Atlantic Ocean en route from Essex County Airport in Fairfield Township, Essex County, New Jersey, to Martha’s Vineyard, where the Kennedy family has a vacation house. Kennedy and his wife were traveling to the wedding of cousin Rory Kennedy, which was then postponed. Lauren was to have been dropped off at Martha’s Vineyard. He spoke at the 1988 Democratic National Convention in Atlanta. He was a New York City assistant district attorney from 1989 to 1993. In 1995, he founded George, a glossy politics-as-lifestyle monthly which sometimes took editorial aim even at members of his own family. The magazine ceased publication shortly after Kennedy’s death. The circumstances around this crash are also the subject of considerable controversy. He did exert considerable influence on the national politial scene, and had he decided to run for political office, would arguably have been an attractive candidate.

11 — Governor Mel Carnahan (D) — Ran against John Ashcroft for the Missouri Senate seat in 2000, when it was anybody’s guess as to which party would enjoy majority status in the U. S. Senate. Late on October 16, 2000, just three weeks before the election and the night before a presidential debate to be held in St. Louis at Washington University, a twin-engine Cessna airplane piloted by the Governor’s son Randy Carnahan, crashed on a heavily forested hillside near Goldman, Missouri, about 35 miles south of St. Louis. All three occupants of the plane — Governor Carnahan, his son Randy, and Chris Sifford, campaign advisor and former chief of staff to the governor — died in the crash. His widow, Jean Carnahan, ran in his stead and defeated Ashcroft, who was named Attorney General by the Bush Administration. Died — October 16, 2000

12 — Paul Wellstone - Again, the U.S. Senate was evenly balanced and Wellstone was running a strong race in Minnesota for re-election, despite his pronounced progressive tendencies. Wellstone was a liberal and a leading spokesman for the progressive wing of the national Democratic Party. He served in the Senate from 1991 until his death in a plane crash on 25 October 2002, in the 102nd, 103rd, 104th, 105th, 106th, and 107th congresses. His wife, Sheila, and daughter, Marcia, also died in the crash. On October 25, 2002, Wellstone died, along with seven others, in a plane crash in northern Minnesota, at approximately 10:22 a.m. He was 58. The other victims were his wife, Sheila, one of his three children, Marcia, the two pilots, and campaign staffers Will McLaughlin, Tom Lapic and Mary McEvoy. The plane was en route to Eveleth, where Wellstone was to attend the funeral of Martin Rukavina, a steelworker whose son Tom Rukavina served in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Wellstone decided to go to the funeral instead of a rally and fundraiser in Minneapolis attended by Mondale and fellow Senator Ted Kennedy. He was to debate Norm Coleman in Duluth, Minnesota that same night. Minnesota law required that his name be struck from the ballot, to be replaced by a candidate chosen by the party. The replacement candidate was former Vice President Walter Mondale, who accepted the nomination and later lost the election to Republican Norm Coleman. Norm Coleman currently represents Minnesota in the U. S. Senate.

During the aftermath of 9/11, when the Bush Administration went to great lengths to advocate swift passage of the Patriot Act, then Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D) of South Dakota expressed misgivings about the quick passage of this act. When Senator Jim Jeffords of Vermont announced in May 2001 that he was leaving the Republican caucus to become an independent and would caucus with the Democrats, this returned control of the body to the Democrats and Daschle again became Majority Leader. In October 2001, Daschle’s office received a letter containing anthrax, becoming a target of the 2001 anthrax attacks. Many of his staffers were confirmed to have been exposed, as well as several of Sen. Russell Feingold’s staffers.

Then Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and was ostensibly in a position to ask questions about the Patriot Act before supporting its passage. Leahy was the only other member of the United States Congress to be targeted by the 2001 anthrax attacks. The anthrax letter meant for him was intercepted before it reached his office.

With regard to Daschle and Leahy, their opposition to the Patriot Act apparently vanished after the anthrax attacks. The investigation to find the perpetrator(s) has apparently gone cold.

The lone exception that I could find to the examples described above was the following incident:

1 — Richard Dudley (Dick) Obenshain (1936 – August 2, 1978) was an attorney in southwest Virginia and rising conservative political leader in the Republican Party of Virginia until his death in the crash of a small airplane in 1978. In the summer of 1978, Obenshain won his party’s nomination to run for the U.S. Senate to replace retiring U.S. Senator William L. Scott. On the night of August 2, the small twin-engine Piper PA34 airplane carrying him home from a campaign appearance crashed in trees while attempting a night-time landing at the Chesterfield County Airport, a general aviation facility near Richmond. Killed along with the 42-year-old candidate were a pilot and a flight instructor. He was replaced by former Secretary of the Navy, and then husband of actress Elizabeth Taylor, John Warner, who prevailed in the election that fall and continues to represent the State of Virginia in the U. S. Senate.

Unless there are other examples that I’ve overlooked, it appears that 13 individuals (two in the Boggs crash) representing a progressive agenda died, and one representing the conservative agenda died. The figure of 13 does not take into consideration the targeting of Daschle and Leahy with the anthrax letters. If you were to flip a coin, hoping for heads, and during 13 of 14 tries, succeeded, one might wonder if it was a trick coin. Assuming a 1 in 2 chance of obtaining heads during each toss, the odds of obtaining heads even ten times in succession is 1 in 1024.

Please feel free to draw your own conclusions.

I have not found the video but this might be a transcript of the part you are talking about:

JIM LEHRER: OK. Well, then my question was a more general question — that we had both Iraq with Saddam Hussein and Yugoslavia with Milosevic; they’re the ones who committed the sins that caused us to move militarily, and they’re not only alive and well — many innocent people died — they’re not only alive and well, they’re still in charge. What — is there a realistic way to deal with that kind of thing when you have an evil person in charge and causing these things to happen?

GOV. GEORGE W. BUSH: Well, I think the most realistic ways to keep them isolated in the world of public opinion and to work with our alliance is to keep them isolated. I’m just as frustrated as many Americans are that Saddam Hussein still lives. I think we ought to keep the pressure on him. I will tell you this: If we catch him developing weapons of mass destruction in any way, shape or form, I’ll deal with that in a way that he won’t like.

JIM LEHRER: Like what, bomb him?

GOV. GEORGE W. BUSH: Well, it could be one option. He just needs to know that he’ll be dealt with in a firm way.

JIM LEHRER: But you don’t think that there’s any way in our democratic society that we can move against individual leaders?

GOV. GEORGE W. BUSH: Do you mean to go assassinate him?

    JIM LEHRER: Well, any way.

GOV. GEORGE W. BUSH: Actually, it’s against the law, as I understand, for an American president to order the assassination of any world leader. I am — I think that’s right — if I’m not mistaken, Jim, and yeah, I mean, obviously we need to keep the pressure on these men. At some point in time the forces of good will take — will handle Saddam Hussein; I’m confident of that. But we’ve just got to keep the pressure on him

That’s interesting too, but not the one. I found the transcript at an Alan Keyes site: http://www.renewamerica.us/ archives/ transcript.php?id=105

It was from the December 2, 1999 debate in Manchester NH. Brit Hume asked him the question. The dialogue was as follows:

MR. HUME: Governor Bush, Saddam Hussein is still there.

What would you do about that, if anything, that is different from what President Clinton has done?

GOV. BUSH: I wouldn’t ease the sanctions, and I wouldn’t try to negotiate with him.

I’d make darn sure that he lived up to the agreements that he signed back in the early ’90s. I’d be helping the opposition groups. And if I found in any way, shape or form that he was developing weapons of mass destruction, I’d take ‘em out. I’m surprised he’s still there. I think a lot of other people are as well.

    MR. HUME: Take him out?

GOV. BUSH: To out the weapons of mass destruction.

    Good catch!
Anyone remember that biographer that Bush was giving interviews to, just before he ran for president? I remember the gist of what Bush said.
That to have a successful presidency, you need to have a war. Something small like Granada (Reagan) or Panama. If I ever get the chance I’m not going to blow it like my father did. If I get that political capitol, I will use it to push through everything I can.
This was his definition of a successful presidency, and he was gonna have a successful presidency.
Couple that with the story leading this post, and the neocon agenda pre-BushII, which was take Iraq. That’s there for all you non-believers on the PNAC website.
The letter they all wrote to Clinton, begging him to take Iraq for them. And the document Rebuilding America’s Defenses
That’s where they say they need a catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor for their plans to succeed.

    NEO CON FACT:

The idea for the surge came from a neocon.
You can find it on think progress, a progressive, liberal, news bloggy website, on July9.
    Here’s a quote”
Today, the American Enterprise Institute, a neoconservative think tank, held a discussion entitled “Assessing the Surge in Iraq,” featuring prominent Iraq war proponents like Fred Kagan, Gen. Jack Keane, and James Miller of the Center for a New American Security.

Bush’s escalation was largely inspired by a October 2006 paper written by Kagan, who stated that the U.S. needed to “re-enter Iraq in large numbers.” In today’s conference, Kagan claimed there was a “general agreement” that “violence overall is down” but refused to provide any factual evidence for those arguments:
Some guy named Mr. President posted a bunch of stuff that day, but I noted none that had any reference to the subject under discussion.

  138. MrX Says:

On post 131 “Stop bringing down our troops by telling them you hate them. —— Some of us ARE the troops. “ Maybe I can’t find the post, but did anyone here say they hated our troops?

How is not wanting American’s to die to support the grudge of a mad man being against out troops? Have you been brain washed? Sean Hannity once said, “Do you mean to tell parents their children are over there dying for nothing?” That argument doesn’t make any sense because as horrible as that idea is, it doesn’t mean it’s not true. We need to save our troops by bringing them home, and stop pissing people off by this outrageous active of invading another country. I just cringe at the mess we’ve made for the Iraqi people to have to live with.

Ah, and Daschle just now remembers this. ThinkProgress - where hearsay and speculation is fact, as long as its coming from the “right” people.

Once again proving that ThinkProgress is nothing other than a propaganda outlet.

ThinkProgess should have higher standards of proof than this, but no.

Followed your link thanks. Also, i found this:

KARL ROVE: The United States has concerns about taking unilateral action in a sovereign nation without their approval. And so this has always been the difficulty we have with — [Laughter.] Unless, of course, they‘re Saddam Hussein

Rove gave that answer to a question about the revelation that the administration had fixed locations for senior al Qaeda leaders in Pakistan in 2005, but while the Navy SEALs were en route, Sec. Donald Rumsfeld and, probably, Vice Pres. Cheney, called off the attack.

    Couldn’t resist a breakfast post.
In neo con philosophy, the goal is not victory but endless war. This shows that the plan is still in play. There is no endgame, or definition of success that they hope to achieve. Chaos, and endless war allows the defense industries to flourish, and the looting of the treasury to continue.

In broad terms, we saw the project as
building upon the defense strategy outlined
by the Cheney Defense Department in the
waning days of the Bush Administration.
The Defense Policy Guidance (DPG) drafted
    in the early months
    of 1992 provided a
    blueprint for
    maintaining U.S.
    preeminence,
    precluding the rise
    of a great power
    rival, and shaping
    the international
    security order in
    line with American
    principles and
    interests. Leaked
    before it had been
    formally approved,
    the document was
    criticized as an
    effort by “cold
warriors” to keep defense spending high and
cuts in forces small despite the collapse of
the Soviet Union; not surprisingly, it was
    subsequently buried by the new
    administration.

The neocon theory after the cold war collapsed, was America should do whatever is necessary to assure no rivals emerge from their sub-super power status.
What a coincidence. Cheney’s defense department, under BushI, already was planning out the strategy they have been implementing under BushII.
It would never have happened without 9/11.
    Or a Demorcratic president.
Those guys sure are lucky. They needed an event like Pearl Harbor to push their Dr. Strangelove pland, and they got it.

    NEO CON fact:
The axis of evil concept came about in the year 2000, in the document Rebuilding Americas Defenses. Before Bush. Before 9/11.
    here’s the money quote:
RAD” takes the posture that only the U.S. should manipulate international relations and points out “trouble spots” that may cause future problems, like Iraq, Iran, Korea and all of East Asia. There is concern that several nations might come together to challenge U.S. interests. Consequently any nation that produces nuclear weapons or engages in significant arms build-up will be viewed as a potential threat.
Wow! Preemptive war is hinted at here too. These guys sure are patient to wait 20 years for their wet dream war!

  144. Ash Says:

SO much for one person’s ego !! Destroyed one whole country - Iraq; took so many lives of army personnel, innocent men, women and children. here I would like to bring attention to the thousands of iraqi civilians who have been killed since Mr. President here started the war against his dad’s enemy. everyone talks about the 3500 dead american soldiers, ut no one talks about the thousands of iraqi civilians killed. Taking lives is so easy for Mr. Bush as having breakfast every morning in White House. And, this guy talks about courage and bravery - coming from someone who went AWOL from his own posting in army. the worst part is everyone thinks he is insane, in human and should be stopped ASAP, but no one does anything, Absolutely Nothing !! Those who have the power to stop him - the political leaders, the Democrats - they are more interested in presidential election 2008 rather than saving lives. I salute these human beings without a heart and certainly without a brain.

There’s nothing funny about a war started for revenge, global hegemony and oil. What’s funny is the sheeple buying into the scare tactics that brought us where we are today. If Osama bin Laden didn’t exist, we would have to invent him, he’s been great for the neo con agenda.
What would they ever do without him?
What would they do if in fact Osama were already dead.
Would they shout it from the mountaintops; Osama is dead, we have won, let’s go home.
    Or, would we conceal it?

Osama bin Laden is dead. The news first came from sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan almost six months ago: the fugitive died in December [2001] and was buried in the mountains of southeast Afghanistan. Pakistan’s president, Pervez Musharraf, echoed the information. The remnants of Osama’s gang, however, have mostly stayed silent, either to keep Osama’s ghost alive or because they have no means of communication. Click for full sized image
With an ego the size of Mount Everest, Osama bin Laden would not have, could not have, remained silent for so long if he were still alive. He always liked to take credit even for things he had nothing to do with. Would he remain silent for nine months and not trumpet his own survival? [New York Times. July 11, 2002]

Oh, but that’s the liberal NY Times, they can’t be trusted(but our government can?)

Israeli sources said Israel and the United States assess that Bin Laden probably died in the U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan in December. They said the emergence of new messages by Bin Laden are probably fabrications, Middle East Newsline reported. [World Tribune]
    Middle East Newsline?
    World Tribune?
    Probably more Liberals.

A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa’da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. [Welfare State]

    http://www.cnn.com/ 2002/ WORLD/ asiapcf/ south/ 01/ 19/ gen.musharraf.binladen.1.19/ index.html
    Musharraf: bin Laden likely dead

    EXCERPTS:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) –Pakistan’s president says he thinks
Osama bin Laden is most likely dead because the
suspected terrorist has been unable to get treatment for
    his kidney disease.

“I think now, frankly, he is dead for the reason he is a …
kidney patient,” Gen. Pervez Musharraf said on Friday in an
    interview with CNN.

Musharraf said Pakistan knew bin Laden took two dialysis
machines into Afghanistan. “One was specifically for his own
    personal use,” he said.

“I don’t know if he has been getting all that treatment in
Afghanistan now. And the photographs that have been shown
of him on television show him extremely weak. … I would
give the first priority that he is dead and the second priority
that he is alive somewhere in Afghanistan.”

With bin Laden dead, they have less to scare us with. Al Qaeda is the joke, and the joke is on you Bush believers for buying into the whole Iraq war mess. Unfortunately, the joke is sad, even tragic. And 25% of the population remains fooled!
Go ahead, laugh it up; nothing funnier than getting 3600 soldiers killed while bankrupting the treasury. Funny stuff.

  146. Frank Walter Says:

So the bush is another Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin–incarnate evil–rolled into one perverted form resembling, somewhat, a human being but with no sentient qualities and applying one mantra: the end justifies the means.

Hitler hated Jews: murdered six million along with forty-nine million Europeans.

Stalin hated anyone disagreeing with him: murdered twenty million.

The bush hates Arabs: murdered a couple million between him and his half-wit father.
