REED: That’s one report I think that bears on this debate.
The second, as you point out, is the benchmark reports coming out of Iraq, which shows, on the surface, mixed progress. But when you probe beneath, the real critical issues — very little or no progress at all on the political issues. The legal actions by the Iraqi government to redistribute oil profits, to incorporate more of the Sunni community into the government, no progress at all.

I got the impression from Gen. Petraeus that he wasn’t waiting. Now he might be overruled by people in the White House and, you know, wait until September. But he seemed very eager to come forward as quickly as possible with a new direction and policy.

Once again, this administration seems to be overruling the wisdom of the Generals on the ground, as others have chronicled above. And once again the American people have their desire to end this occupation (the war ended in may 2003; remember mission accomplished?) stalled, a tactic the Repugs are using to deny Democrats any legislative victories. Meanwhile, those soldiers they ‘care’ so much about are being killed maimed, overextended and lied to.
And you Bushites are okay with this?

Nowhere in my post did I call you a Democrat. Personally, I don’t care if you are Democrat or Independent. However, it’s obvious that you are NOT a conservative who believes in his/her country. You are merely another irrational Bush-Hater throwing temper-tantrums because he/she doesn’t get his/her way. And that makes you part of the problem, rather than part of any solution.

Read this and comprehend, I will make it as plain as I can so even you can hopefully understand:

You may personally disagree with the President’s policies, and you have every right to do so, however, your disagreement with the President does not equal a crime.

This may surprise you: I have disagreed with the President’s policies at times, and made my disagreement known through the usual methods available through our form of government. Guess what? Sometimes my opinions succeed, sometimes they don’t. Do I get frustrated when my opinion doesn’t succeed? Sure. But I don’t hate my President, Elected Representatives, Government, or Country because of it. Grow up, veritas.

No crimes=No impeachment.

Why don’t you just urge folks to break the speed limit, not wear seatbelts, rob banks, beat their spouses, etc. If we’re going to have anarchy, why not just go all the way? Did I say you all needed to go get some sunshine? I don’t know if that will do it. I further suggest Prozac, Zoloft, or heck, good ole’ Lithium.
