I take objection to one comment, that Bush is a “punk.” I don’t see how anyone could think that he belives in the punk ideology, anti-government control and pacifism in general, and I doubt very much he likes the music.

I will state something more important here though:
Lots of comments, but why doesn’t any focus on “the law.” Political arguments are fine, but a judge has to follow the law and that includes the Constitution. There may in fact be no remedy under the US Constitution – and that the judge so found, doesn’t mean that he is biased or mean.

Treason is involved as has been commented by others, though it is not directly mentioned in this particular Valerie Plame case according to at least some legal perspectives. Valerie Plames Attorney is right in further pursuit of this case such as building on the case of Treason guilt by Vice President Cheney recorded in recent previous news at NewsWhiteHouse.com. The fact is, as at the top of this Think Progress page shows, many lower courts wrongly focus on how laws pertain to their jurisdictions rather than on the higher principles, such as checks and balances, the higher reason for the Judicial Branch in the first place: Instead of detracting from the Libby case guilt and similar, it is the duty of the Judicial Branch to pursue: High crimes rather than less significant. The Judicial Branch is to pursue even such as after the Libby pardon, to find the extent of corruption given far more than a good lead from reliable sources.

Which may explain why Judge Bates is covering for the Republican Psychos in the White House, Republican Psychos who didn’t think twice about disclosing the top-secret covert identity of a career CIA officer, who was responsible for protecting our nation, and our nation’s children, from the threat of other Psychos getting their hands on nukes or other WMD.

Yep, Psycho-loving Judge Bates has done a great, great service for the criminal Psychos in the Bush administration, but has done a grave, grave disservice to our nation.

You know, I saw this too, and I looked upt he FTCA (Federal Tort Claims Act) to see what it was all about.

comprehensive legislative scheme by which the United States has waived its sovereign immunity to allow civil suits for actions arising out of negligent acts of agents of the United States. The United States cannot be sued in a tort action unless it is clear that Congress has waived the government’s sovereign immunity and authorized suit under the FTCA.

So, essentially, Congress has to waive immunity and then they can be sued. But if that’s the case, the case should have been thrown out long ago and/or Palme’s lawyers should have already gotten the waiver? It seems that if Palme DID get the waiver, then Bates statement about lack of jurisdiction is all crap.
