Tony Snow: “It’s just a number” (500 troops dead)

  2. crimedog says:

how long before we get a congress that works?

  3. Raven says:

Actually, you may be right, Mr.P(P).
I don’t think Dubious will finish the course.

  4. DM says:

#3 ~ They’re working every day. Do you mean function in accordance with Constitutional mandate? The minute the obstruction stops. I don’t give that much chance to happen either, with the top court loaded with fascist fools.

  5. Tom says:

I wonder how much more GDumbya will phuck up in these remaining 18 months. I mean, besides starting a war with Iran. That one is pretty much a no-brainer.

  6. The Eck says:

    President Fred Thompson.

  7. SGT Higgins says:

    Not gonna happen!

    Comment by Mr. President ————-

18 months to build up defensive barriers (already in place) around the WH.

18 months is MORE than enough time to build a moat.

  8. Mr. President says:

Don’t worry folks, I’ll stick around even after I’m out of office.

  9. Raven says:

Unless, of kourse, his karma runs its kourse…..

  10. Clyde the Ripper says:

    #1

You are absolutely right. The incumbent President will be sworn in on that date and she will not be a new President.

Bush and Cheney will be in Leavenworth, Pelosi will become President, she will name Hillary as Vice-president then resign the presidency. Hillary will then become President and will run as the incumbent and will win the election, hence there will not be a “new” President sworn in on January 2009.

  11. Tom says:

Don’t worry folks, I’ll stick around even after I’m out of office.

Yup. You will need to be available to respond to subpoenas.

Other than that, I doubt that anyone will pay much attention to you…kinda like the way things are now.

“Lame duck” doesn’t even begin to describe you, Mr. P.

  12. Francois says:

    Clyde: Wow. Just wow.

  13. Crump's Brother says:

I’m seriously concerned that this guy is going to try to stay!!

  14. Crump's Brother says:

    Mr. President ©

You’re the only one ruining anything!!

  15. The Eck says:

“Pelosi will become President, she will name Hillary as Vice-president then resign the presidency. Hillary will then become President”

That’s the only way Hillary would ever be president. She can’t win a general.

  16. SGT Higgins says:

    It was a joke…— Yeah, I figured.
I hope your comment was too. — about the moat, yes…. the barriers? they really are there!

    Comment by Mr. President

  17. RUCerious says:

    Geezus Herbert Kreist.
    18 more months.
    To quote Mr. Taggart,

    You’re a one boy (multi-persona) wrecking crew.

  19. Unvarnished Truth says:

Eighteen Months until Fred is sworn in as President. More bad news for the left and their Islamists friends.

  20. Mr. President © says:

Won’t be any new president, cause I’m taking over as dictator!
    BWAAhahahahahahahaha!

  21. Ophelia Heinie says:

I pray there’ll be a new president in 18 months, but I cannot believe Bush/Cheney are assuming dictatorial power to turn over to anyone else.

  22. Mr. Presidents Mom says:

    (Knock knock)

    “Yeah? Whaddya want?

    (running footsteps….. flush)

“Yes officer, can I help you?

(OK Babs, stay cool, you can do this, check his pulse…zip…not breathing, pretty stiff for such a jelly blob….

  23. Jackilope says:

I can’t stand the thought of one more minute, let alone 18 months with Darth and the Chimp in office. Impeach, impeach, impeach — get this crooks OUTTA there ASAP. Get our troops out of Iraq. Get us out of this horrible reign of terror and evil.

  24. Francois says:

Leaving Iraq is a misguided idea.

  25. dbadass says:

Entering Iraq was a misguided idea

  26. Francois says:

Not misguided, just stupid. When I say it’s misguided, I understand how some people can see how it could be in our best interests to just leave, however we can’t do that.

  27. doro says:

    That’s two pregnancies.

  28. Buch Fush says:

    Please people IGNORE THE TROLLS

    - Especially Mr. Pr(ick)

    - yesterday was ridiculous

    - that idiot is destroying your site

    - he and CT_V1 should be banned from the site.

If it continues you will find yourself with very few people coming here.

  29. missmolly says:

Eighteen months…one and a half years. Do they have enough aces up their sleeves to last that long? If they can keep their drones from defecting, they might make it. Unfortunately, the carnage they have wrought on the character of this country and our standing in the world may take generations to repair.

All good Americans need to rise up, a la Howard Beale, and say “I’m mad as h*ll and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” As the saying goes — “if you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention”.

  30. Powkat says:

Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR) requested access to the new security plan as a member of the Homeland Security Committee. He said that several of his constituents have contacted him with concerns about what might be in the plan (as are we all.) He thought they were being paranoid, until he was refused access on the basis of national security. He is entitled to see this plan, in fact it could be argued, he and the rest of the Homeland Security Committee should be required to view it – in case of a national emergency it would be a good thing to have Congress know what to do. Now Defazio is more determined than ever to see it, and wondering if his constituents aren’t right to be paranoid.

  31. dbadass says:

    however we can’t do that.

    Comment by Francois — July 20, 2007 @ 12:37 pm

    Why?

  32. doro says:

    Cheney to become President

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Bush will undergo a routine colonoscopy Saturday, and will transfer power to Vice President Dick Cheney during the procedure, expected to take about two and a half hours, the chief White House spokesman said.

Tony Snow said Friday that the procedure, during which a doctor looks for any signs of cancer, will be carried out at Camp David, Maryland, and the president will be placed under anesthesia.

Bush’s last colonoscopy was in June 2002, and no abnormalities
    were found, Snow said

    a) ideal moment for an attack on Iraq
    b) no abnormalities? Are you serious, all those people….

  33. doro says:

attack on Iran, of course, did the other thing already. Sorry, there’s a thunderstorm brewing over Zurich and my concnetration is lousy..

  34. doro says:

concentration… see what I mean. I’m off, have a nice evening folks!

  35. Raven says:

Is any more anesthesia really necessary?

  36. Francois says:

For one, it’s immoral. We created the situation in Iraq and we can not simply leave and let them try to survive on their own. We did this to them, and we have a responsibility to fix what we broke. Sure, Saddam was one evil mofo, but at least there was order. Today, there is no order in Iraq, and it is our fault.

  37. dbadass says:

But what if it is their wish that we leave? Although I agree with your overall premise. What must happen before you would feel okay with leaving?

  38. david says:

I predict that a new president WILL NOT take office in 2009. I predict that Bush will use the military to sieze the federal government and imprison all dissenters. He REALLY wasn’t kidding about that dictator thing.

  39. Francois says:

Personally, I think that some order must be restored, and the country be ready and able to govern its self (peacefully?). I heard an interview with the Iraqi ambassador to the US yesterday, and he seems to feel the same about the US staying. He feels that it is primarily the United States’ fault that Iraq is in such a state right now, and he feels that the US has a moral obligation to continue to offer aide. It was refreshing to hear this, as I’ve heard many people say that Iraqi’s want us out.

However, we all know that morality plays a very small role in international politics.

  40. nanlichi says:

Bush will be gone in 2009, he can’t wait to get out of Washington. The game he is playing is “Save your ego”, the same game he has been playing all his losing life.

The pitiful coward bully can’t ever admit he was wrong. He will stretch out his War until he leaves office, then when resonsible people take action to get us out of the morass he put us in, Bush will pout and whine that we would have won if we had only done what he wanted.

I wish him a long life. Long and suffering, maybe with a slow, painful colon cancer. Spend the next thirty years in a wheelchair with a colostomy bag. Give him some time to contemplate the ruin he has wrought.

  41. Buch Fush says:

He should have been taken out of office 5 years ago.

IGNORE THE TROLLS – Yesterday was ridiculous

TP please ban Mr. President and CT_V1 they are destroying your site

  42. Powkat says:

The circular reasoning of those in love with Bush’s clusterf*#k is amazing:

We have to kill more soldiers or those already dead will have died in vain.

We have to stay in the middle of a civil war, because there wouldn’t be a civil war if we hadn’t invaded – only it’s not really a civil war.

  43. Kiki says:

I should take the day off. It will be momentous when the first female president is sworn in.

  44. kefa461 says:

No new Pres…..martial law…..New World Order…..no more USA as we know it.

  45. RioRico says:

Bush-Cheney will not leave office except at gunpoint. Sometime next year, a ‘terror attack’ will prompt the declaration of a state of emergency, martial law, suspension of congress and legislatures, rounding-up of dissidents, controls on all communications, etc. Only a military coup end the Bush-Cheney years. Bend over and smile.

  46. O. Bigfoot says:

Hmmm….18 more months….A lot can happen in 18 months, folks….

Look to see the pace pick up on cleaning up the middle east….

And here’s how I got there:

If it looks like a Democrat is going to gain the White House, the current Congress isn’t going to want the Democratic Party to take the blame for giving up, or being defeated, in Iraq during a Democratic President’s term. That will spell disaster for them for several election cycles. The Democratic congress is going to get easier and easier to work with the closer it comes to election time…The last thing they want is the blame for defeat or chaos in Iraq after a U.S. military pullout to fall in their lap. However, they WILL accept blaming the Republicans for defeat if they can make it look like all they were trying to do was support the President’s plan.

If there is a favorable report from Iraq come September, the Democrats aren’t going to be able to scuttle Bush’s Iraq policy. For then they will wear the “obstructionist” mantle they keep attempting (in vain, I might ad), to bestow upon Republicans in congress. This means the Democrats are going to have to allow SOME action to be taken in Iraq.

If President Bush wants to hand over the keys to the White House to another Republican, he’s going to have to pull some “rabbit out of his hat” prior to election day. This means either he’d better start parading Bin Laden’s head on a platter around Iraq or Afghanistan, or come up with some other easily tangible evidence that the current strategy is working. And it’s gotta be big, to be heard over the din of negative, defeatist Iraq news currently being spewed by the traditional media.

    Keep watchin’…..

  47. Powkat says:

RioRico – I agree completely. I’ve been saying for the last 2 years that these clowns will not leave quietly – they can’t afford to, as soon as they go all of their crimes will be revealed. Your prediction is dead on. I’ve made sure my passport is in order; I pray I won’t need it. This is one ‘I told you so’ I’d rather not have to say.

  48. grumpyhippy says:

“White House Deputy Chief of Staff Joel Kaplan insists that this milestone is “just another day.””

Maybe he knows something we don’t? Sounds like they’re not planning on going anywhere, and it will indeed be just another day for them, killing and torturing and ruining.

  49. csail says:

There is no count down, except the on the Cheney Regime has to their next false flag operation like 911, only this time we probably need something bigger to wow the sheeple. Like, Operation America Hiroshima, no doubt named not by any terrorist but by Pnac-Cheney.

There is no more 5th amendment–as they can take your property away for just protesting (which they think of as treason anyway) the Iraq invasion and occupation.

Cheney’s puppet Bush is ready to dance with the special powers in the event of an emergency (which Bush-I mean Cheney gets to decide) and we’ll have a full blown dictatorship without the cool fashions the Nazi’s used to wear.

Think of Christian Evangelist Religious Reich with bad toupees, suits and lots of cheap glitter doing the goose step while “praying” and you’ll get the idea. Women follow behind in flowery Stepford dresses while we nuke Iran.

Oh yeah–don’t forget the 385 million dollar detention camps built via our tax dollars through who else–Haliburton! If Mom gets too upity–just say she’s not praying, or thinks Bush’s english isn’t too good, or…

I wonder what city will get to be the American Hiroshima. There used to be a dead pool on the web, but I think it needs updating. Place your bets?

  50. had enough says:

    18 more months….

would be a good idea to deplete the funds to Cheney’s merc military …. 180,000 of them in Iraq getting paid each +100,000 of our tax dollar money… then take a look at the internment US camps – rumors have it gas chambers are present that can gas 50 at a time…. and then take out all those unconstitutional DO’s Bush has written…

  51. had enough says:

Bush-Cheney will not leave office except at gunpoint.

Would that even be possible with the merc military Chaney has… They are over 180,000 strong, from all parts of the world, therefore could care less about US or our constitution. And we are paying for them…. $100,000+ a month each.
