Cheney was angered over Rumsfeld’s ouster.

The Plank’s Isaac Chotiner finds this interesting revelation from Stephen Hayes’ Cheney biography. Hayes describes the events as Cheney’s staffers were preparing him for an appearance on Fox News Sunday:

An aide fired one tough question after another at the vice president. Then: Did you agree with President Bush’s decision to replace Donald Rumsfeld as secretary of defense?

“Absolutely not,” Cheney replied without elaborating. His answer surprised the small group with him, but it was the answer he was determined to give if Wallace asked, even at the risk of angering his boss. But the story was a month old, and Wallace never asked the question.

Did Cheney and Rumsfeld Cover Up a CIA Assassination?

“These documents show the lengths to which the government was trying to cover up the truth,” Eric Olson said, regarding memos that uncovered Cheney and Rumsfeld’s role in perpetuating the deceit. “For 22 years there was a cover-up. And then, under the guise of revealing everything, there was a new cover-up.” [Mercury News]

The London Sunday Express blared the headline: “Scientist Was Killed to Stop Him Revealing Death Secrets; So Did Cheney and Rumsfeld Cover Up a CIA Assassination?” [FrankOlsonProject.org] while the Guardian picked up where other U.S. publications did not. “This story is clearly less fun, and a lot more scary, than a CIA-LSD suicide, and it hasn’t received nearly as much coverage,” Jon Ronson wrote. “Few of the journalists who attended yesterday’s press conference are following up the evidence Olson presented. Instead they’ve written about Olson’s “healing process” and his “closure”.

Frank Olson’s legacy, for anyone willing to study it, goes beyond the Manchurian Candidate and implicates the U.S. government in crimes that surpass mind manipulation and run of the mill assassination. In fact, Olson’s case is reportedly included in the assassination curriculum of the Israeli Mossad as “a successful instance of disguising a murder as a suicide.”

Certainly, after studying Olson’s case it’s clear: What was once the province of kooky conspiracy buffs has been proven to be grounded in fact. And, in addition to questions regarding the Oct. 2001 anthrax attacks, others surface: Why did George W. Bush and members of the White House staff begin taking the antibiotic Cipro on Sept. 11, weeks before the anthrax attacks? [Washington Post]; How significant were Dr. David Kelly’s concerns that he’d be “found dead in the woods”? [BBC]; Did Dr. Don Wiley’s death have anything to do with other scientists who have died under mysterious circumstances? [Globe and Mail]; And why, as the Christian Science Monitor reports, is there a “deliberate effort to kill scientists,” intellectuals and human rights activists in occupied Iraq? [Christian Science Monitor]

But wait, unless we live in Orwellian times, wasn’t the official word that Rummy resigned, not that he was fired. I just Google’d it, and that’s what first came up. So, shouldn’t Dick have been upset because his good friend and stock options buddy left the sinking ship before the skipper or were we just all told a little something, something so as not to embarrass. Wait, that’s why W waited until after the election to accept the resignation or fire him, depending on who you ask.

[[the following Cheney stand down order is confused for a shoot down order]]

MR. HAMILTON: We thank you for that. I wanted to focus just a moment on the Presidential Emergency Operating Center. You were there for a good part of the day. I think you were there with the vice president. And when you had that order given, I think it was by the president, that authorized the shooting down of commercial aircraft that were suspected to be controlled by terrorists, were you there when that order was given?

MR. MINETA: No, I was not. I was made aware of it during the time that the airplane coming into the Pentagon. There was a young man who had come in and said to the vice president, “The plane is 50 miles out. The plane is 30 miles out.” And when it got down to, “The plane is 10 miles out,” the young man also said to the vice president, “Do the orders still stand?” And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, “Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?” Well, at the time I didn’t know what all that meant. And –

MR. HAMILTON: The flight you’re referring to is the –

MR. MINETA: The flight that came into the Pentagon.

    MR. HAMILTON: The Pentagon, yeah.

MR. MINETA: And so I was not aware that that discussion had already taken place. But in listening to the conversation between the young man and the vice president, then at the time I didn’t really recognize the significance of that.

And then later I heard of the fact that the airplanes had been scrambled from Langley to come up to DC, but those planes were still about 10 minutes away. And so then, at the time we heard about the airplane that went into Pennsylvania, then I thought, “Oh, my God, did we shoot it down?” And then we had to, with the vice president, go through the Pentagon to check that out.

MR. HAMILTON: Let me see if I understand. The plane that was headed toward the Pentagon and was some miles away, there was an order to shoot that plane down. [[notice the panel member is trying to coerce the witness to affirm this]]

MR. MINETA: Well, I don’t know that specifically, but I do know that the airplanes were scrambled from Langley or from Norfolk, the Norfolk area. But I did not know about the orders specifically other than listening to that other conversation.

MR. HAMILTON: But there very clearly was an order to shoot commercial aircraft down. [[notice the panel is forcing a perspective that doesn't exist]]

MR. MINETA: Subsequently I found that out.

MR. HAMILTON: With respect to Flight 93, what type of information were you and the vice president receiving about that flight?

MR. MINETA: The only information we had at that point was when it crashed.

MR. HAMILTON: I see. You didn’t know beforehand about that airplane.

    MR. MINETA: I did not.

MR. HAMILTON: And so there was no specific order there to shoot that plane down.

    MR. MINETA: No, sir.

MR. HAMILTON: But there were military planes in the air in position to shoot down commercial aircraft.

MR. MINETA: That’s right. The planes had been scrambled, I believe, from Otis at that point.

MR. HAMILTON: Could you help me understand a little the division of responsibility between the FAA and NORAD on that morning?

MR. MINETA: Well, FAA is in touch with NORAD. And when the first flight from Boston had gone out of communications with the air traffic controllers, the air traffic controller then notified, I believe, Otis Air Force Base about the air traffic controller not being able to raise that American Airlines flight.

    Cheney on Meet The Press:

    Videotape, March 16, 2003):

MR. RUSSERT: And even though the International Atomic Energy Agency said he does not have a nuclear program, we disagree.

VICE PRES. CHENEY: I disagree, yes. And you’ll find the CIA, for example, and other key parts of our intelligence community, disagree.

And we believe he has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons. I think Mr. ElBaradei, frankly, is wrong. And I think if you look at the track record of the International Atomic Energy Agency and this kind of issue, especially where Iraq is concerned, they have consistently underestimated or missed what it was Saddam Hussein was doing. I don’t have any reason to believe they’re any more valid this time than they’ve been in the past.

Regarding Cheney’s frequent trips to the CIA, Russert asks if he applied pressure to achieve a desired intelligence work product:

    MR. RUSSERT: No pressure?

VICE PRES. CHENEY: Shouldn’t be any pressure. I can’t think of a single instance. Maybe somebody can produce one. I’m unaware of any where the community changed a judgment that they made because I asked questions.

MR. RUSSERT: If they were wrong, Mr. Vice President, shouldn’t we have a wholesale investigation into the intelligence failure that they predicted…

    VICE PRES. CHENEY: What failure?

MR. RUSSERT: That Saddam had biological, chemical and is developing a nuclear program.

VICE PRES. CHENEY: My guess is in the end, they’ll be proven right, Tim.

So I say I’m not willing at all at this point to buy the proposition that somehow Saddam Hussein was innocent and he had no WMD and some guy out at the CIA, because I called him, cooked up a report saying he did.

That’s crazy. That makes no sense. It bears no resemblance to reality whatsoever.

Was it Cheney who ordered Chertoff to kill the Ptech Investigation??? And Remember “Operation Greenquest?” That investigation was killed too!

    http://rigorousintuition.blogspot.com/2005/01/michael-chertoff-and-sabotage-of-ptech.html

A tipster was Indira Singh, who has said she recognizes the separate command and control communications system Mike Ruppert describes Dick Cheney to have been running on September 11th as having “the exact same functionality I was looking for (Ptech).”

The Ptech case turned into an ugly dispute last year when company whistleblowers told Greenquest agents about their own suspicions about the firm’s owners. Sources close to the case say those same whistleblowers had first approached FBI agents, but the bureau apparently did little or nothing in response. With backing from the National Security Council, Greenquest agents then mounted a full-scale investigation that culminated in a raid on the company’s office last December. After getting wind of the Greenquest probe, the FBI stepped in and unsuccessfully tried to take control of the case.

Whatever the truth, there is no dispute that the case has so far produced no charges and indictments against Al-Qadi or anyone else connected with Ptech.

What role did Dick Cheney play in killing the investigation into Al-Qadi?

Now, how does Chertoff figure in the Ptech story? It goes back to the turf war of two years ago over Operation Greenquest, “the high-profile federal task force set up to target the financiers of Al Qaeda and other international terrorist groups.”

    *
Clearly ptech represent some nexus between the government and terrorism that must not be revealed, and Chertoff is just the man to cover it up.

And now they’ve ensured Lieberman’s re-election and installed him in position to protect Chertoff.

    Got RICO?

Arrest Dick Cheney right now to prevent the slaughter of the US Military.

Cheney is busily preparing the next False Flag Attack against the United States (using Jumbo Jets as missiles, flown into nuclear reactor containment vessels at power plants in 3 different US cities) and has ALREADY TOLD US that when the next attack come on US soil, he will bomb IRAN, with or without proof of their involvement.

On July 20th, the US Government propaganda for this pending attack on Iran began in earnest, when Pentagon spokespersons planted stories in the US media that claimed Hezbollah Sleeper Cells were active in the United States, and may be planning attacks against the US Homeland in retaliation for the US backing of Israel.

The Bin Laden Bogeyman has served his purpose and a new one is being invented before your eyes. The term “Hizbollah Sleeper Cells” has just replaced all prior fear mongering labels used by your own government, to instill fear in you, and condition you to respond reflexively to support the bombing of Iran when Cheney launches the next Terror Attack by the Government of America, AGAINST AMERICA.

  18. ace says:

“U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson said the Bush administration last year told him and 75 other senators that Iraq not only had weapons of mass destruction, but they had the means to deliver them to East Coast cities.” The White House directed questions about the matter to the Department of Defense (who had no comment), despite the fact that the President himself had made a similar claim in a speech on 10/7/02. Nelson said the senators were told Iraq had both biological and chemical weapons, notably anthrax, and it could deliver them to cities along the Eastern seaboard via unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones.

Cheney himself told Meet the Press, “We know that [Saddam] has a long-standing relationship with the al-Qaeda organization.”

Cheney, who in the rush to war six days before invasion, told Meet the Press without proof that “Iraq has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons.”

When confronted with a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency that directly contradicted him, he said simply “[IAEA Director] Elbaradei is, frankly, wrong.” (Cheney was since forced to correct his statements).
