The AP reports, “Bush reclaimed his presidential powers and duties at 9:21 a.m. EDT. The transfer of power took place with letters Bush sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., president pro tempore of the Senate. Bush reclaimed the powers with follow-up letters once the colonoscopy had ended.”

I don’t know if I am relieved or not…

July 21st, 2007 at 11:26 amhoney, he’s still going to…
July 21st, 2007 at 11:28 amThis story makes me happy when I substitute ‘brain transplant’ for ‘colonoscopy’… wouldn’t THAT be nice?

July 21st, 2007 at 11:38 amI’m just wondering how they were able to perform the procedure with Bush’s head in the way.

WASHINGTON — President Bush had five polyps discovered and removed during a routine colon cancer test Saturday, the White House said.
They were small and “none appeared worrisome,” White House spokesman Scott Stanzel told reporters after the colonoscopy [...]
Mr. Bush’s colonoscopy in 2002 revealed no medical problems…
aaaw, how sweet… that’s one for each year of his evil doings…

July 21st, 2007 at 11:55 amI’m happy as long as we don’t see that same Fox News headline on January 21, 2009.
July 21st, 2007 at 11:55 amno, he’ll probably cancel the 2008 election — so, there’ll be no need to transfer powers, he’ll already have them.
July 21st, 2007 at 11:58 amDid Gannon or Haggert perform the “inspection”?
July 21st, 2007 at 11:59 amStrange thing to say, but I’m glad bush is President again..
July 21st, 2007 at 12:03 pmIt appears the media is hell bent on convincing us that 5 Polyps is nothing to worry about for the prez. I myself hope he goes the way of Tony Snow, we deserve to watch him wither.

Stick to the thread? All I see here are comments like “How is the ol’ a*whole?” and “so, that’s where the WMD’s were located…”.
Here’s a serious thought for you… We’ve been in the worst Constitutional crisis imaginable for several years now, not just the last few weeks or months. The fact that this hasn’t been called for what it is before doesn’t mean it hasn’t been happening. The Bush Admin is the most secretive WH in US history. At this point, we have no REAL idea what else they’re up to, and they scare the HELL out of me.
There, not one personal attack or cuss word, and personally, I could care less about the man’s polyps.

If that were the case, you’d think there’d be a whole lot more.
(Sigh) I suppose I’m glad that Cheney is no longer the President, but only in a “lesser of two evils” way.
July 21st, 2007 at 12:58 pmHow could they tell which end they were working on?
July 21st, 2007 at 12:59 pmTurns out Bush is full of shit

July 21st, 2007 at 1:14 pmI want to know what Cheney managed to do with those hours that he had the power. I sincerely hope that he slepy in this morning since it’s Saturday.

Heh, I used to have that problem, too, but I keep my nails shorter now for just that reason. Plus, ever since I broke my wrist, I now use those ‘ergonomic’ keyboards, both at home and at work, so the ‘t’ and the ‘y’ are much farther apart.

And why not? It’s a great show. But that’s OT. (Bad, Wayne! Bad!)
Back OT, I wonder how he feels knowing that everyone watching him at that moment knows that he just had something rammed up his butt? Chagrined?
Personally, I would have simply announced that he was undergoing a “medical procedure” for which anesthesia was necessary. (Dental work?) They didn’t need to give so much fodder to comedians.
July 21st, 2007 at 1:50 pmDID Cheney sign anything?
July 21st, 2007 at 1:57 pm#45: When Chimpy and Darth dies there will be the biggest party this world has ever seen
This is a stupid comment. Nothing more than fuel for the Bill O’Reilly types who wish to paint “The Left” with the same brush. I dislike Bush and Cheney and all that they stand for, but I’m not interested in partying over their deaths.

I stand by my statement 100%. There will be Universal Party like noone has ever seen. After all the deaths these 2 have caused, it sure would be a time to party!
July 21st, 2007 at 2:12 pmWell we made it out of that situation without Darth Cheney blowing up Iran. It’s like they say… Thank God for extraordinarily small favors.

He’s certainly trying his best this morning, isn’t he? It’s kind of interesting to see the different rhetorical gambits he tries to break into conversations.
Silly insults, baiting people w/ loaded questions, ridiculous statements guaranteed to provoke a reaction, singly out one person for ridicule.
I gotta say, duking it out w/ these trolls is making me sharper. You have to reply properly to stop them. Kind of a paper-scissors-rock thing goin’ on, huh?

According to their website, the Mets are on Fox TV, too. But I don’t know if that’s just regional coverage or national. It ought to be national since they are in first place.

My television blew up 2 yrs ago and I never replaced it. I watch movies on my computer now, so I really don’t miss the tube anymore. I was listening to the Mets on Internet radio (MLB.com) last yr but it was just stopping me in my tracks – I spent too much time just sitting and listening to games… hmmm… not unlike the amount of time I now spend posting here, but that’s another story.
I live on the West Coast, the East Bay, across from SF.

(Yeah, I know we’ve been completely off topic for a bit, but, really, how much can anyone say about Bush being out of surgery, thereby saving us from the greater evil of Darth Cheney?)

Well, I watched the playoffs last fall at a friend’s house (another diehard Mets fan) and i go to several A’s games every year. Most wednesday games in town are only $2 for upper deck seats. Where can you see an MLB game for $2 buskc these days? A’s ain’t too good this year, but most of the last 7-8 years, they’re in contention.
July 21st, 2007 at 6:20 pmDid they find Bush’s brain when they sent the scope up his Cheney?? Or was it vacant just like his skull?
