Business owner couldn’t ‘get a word in’ with Bush.

The Washington Post reports:

bushkey.gif The entrepreneur who hosted President Bush last week for a roundtable discussion on health care and small business said yesterday that he could barely get a word in as Bush opined on children’s health insurance and other health topics.

If he had, Clifton Broumand would have told the president he disagreed with him on most of it, he said.

He answered his own questions,” said Broumand, who gave Bush a tour of Man & Machine Inc., the Landover-based medical computer accessory company he founded 25 years ago. “I thought the whole concept was to ask us, so I was a little bit frustrated. I would have liked the opportunity to give him my viewpoint, rather than him knowing the answer.

Well, that’s why el chimperador didn’t let the man speak, he DID know what he would say/ask and the royal pain didn’t want to hear it. By his constant yammering, lil’ boots was essentially “La la la! I can’t HEAR you!!!”
IMPEACHMENT – if it isn’t on the table SOON, I will build a freakin’ table to put it on!!!

This line needs to be rewritten. It’s not quite accurate.

“I would have liked the opportunity to give him a PIECE OF MY MIND, SEEING than he DOESN’T HAVE A SINGLE answer.“

    There, now it makes sense.

Even if he would have listened to the business owners concerns, it wouldn’t matter. Bush & Co. will do what their special interest friends want regardless of the detriment it causes to regular folks.

Whatever made this guy think that Bush would listen to any voice?
Bush is incorrigible – he cannot, will not listen. He never has, and he never will.
Bush thinks it is a matter of character, while the rest of us think it is a matter of arrogant ignorance.

This is a mark of deceitful autocrats. Remember how Nixon answered questions?

“That’s an interesting question. And it reminds me of a story my mother told me. She was a good woman and ….”

Nixon would meander with an anecdote and then draw his own conclusions from his own off topic musings and never return to the actual question.

Obama: Don’t stay in Iraq over genocide
Democrat says Romney trying to score ‘cheap political points’ over sex ed

    Updated: 2:58 a.m. CT July 20, 2007
SUNAPEE, N.H. – Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there.

“Well, look, if that’s the criteria by which we are making decisions on the deployment of U.S. forces, then by that argument you would have 300,000 troops in the Congo right now — where millions have been slaughtered as a consequence of ethnic strife — which we haven’t done,” Obama said in an interview with The Associated Press.

“We would be deploying unilaterally and occupying the Sudan, which we haven’t done. Those of us who care about Darfur don’t think it would be a good idea,” he said.

Causes the squeal when you put the microphone too close to the speaker. No one doubts that Boy George is unstable.

Administrator, That was great! All praise King Arbusto!

  50. Leporello says:

Back on thread, you’ve got to give credit where credit’s due. Mr. Bush did attend a discussion where questions were asked and answers given. He can now state that as an unarguable fact. The fact that he did most of the questioning and then answered himself will be glossed over. He’s doing what he’s always done. He decides on a course of action and persues it no matter what anybody tells him. God talks to him and Mr. Bush knows it. Unfortunately there’s one thing Mr. Bush doesn’t know. If you talk to God, you’re praying. If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.
Impeach Bush and Cheney and Save the Constitution!

  52. DRxJ says:

Ironic, isn’t it, that our ever name changin’ troll uses the same exact method in debate.
Says what it wants to say ( Why are Libtards defeatests?), and before any responses, answers itself (Clinton did it!). Before anyone can offer a factual, opposing view, it changes it’s posting name, and agrees with itself (Right on, Ringoworm!)

    Damn scary, and sad actually.

Maybe this is why Dubya, thief in charge, only allows hand picked conservatives at his “town hall” meetings. Preach to the choir, and you’ll be praised and appreciated.
    Doofus!

  53. RUCerious says:

I’ve been watching that and trying to figure out how to derail that sort of sequence. It’s tricky.

  55. Emerald says:

Bush is preacher, choir, and hands out the collection plate, too. It is amusing that the leader of the free world has to have every public appearance pre-scripted, so that no possible exchange of ideas is forthcoming.

Wesley Clark talked about Bush’s bubble a couple of weeks ago. When you surround yourself with people who will only tell you what you want to hear, there is no debate. There is no dissent. There is no hope.

  56. nanlichi says:

    upside00,

Now there’s a Bush legacy I could support. Talk about securing a place in the history books. Maybe someone should suggest it to him……..

  57. upside00 says:

From all indications so far, Dubya has had someone read “Mein Kampf” and “The Third Reich” to him and I am sure he has had to ask “What ever happened to that smart nice man from that WWII thingy, you know with the funny little moustache. Maybe I could get me one of those too! Would be SOO Kewl!”

  58. Angry One says:

With his vocal opposition to the expansion of the S-CHIP program to provide health care coverage for more of America’s children, President Bush is returning to the same tried and true formula he first pioneered in Texas. That is, Bush initially fought the legislation on ideological grounds before caving to popular pressure and grudgingly accepting some version of the bill. Then, as with the Texas S-CHIP program, the Texas Patients Bill of Right and the 2003 Medicare prescription drug benefit, Bush claimed credit for it.

    For the details, see:
    “S-CHIP on Bush’s Shoulder.”

  59. missmolly says:

So Bush answers his own questions. He must have learned that from Rummy. Answering your own questions is SOOO much easier than answering somebody else’s.

And talking enough that nobody else can say anything is SOP for the person who is afraid that somebody might ask a question.

  60. bogtrotters says:

Hm. Sounds like the way der Fuhrer would opine in front of stultified tea guests at Berchtesgaden.

  61. Jason Baddo says:

basically the most powerful country in the world has an individual at the helm who lacks even the most fundamental tenets of leadership. HE DOESN”T LISTEN!!!!

  62. gummitch says:

I’ve been reading Glenn Greenwald’s “A Tragic Legacy: how a good vs evil mentality destroyed the Bush presidency.” Scary sh!t, but the essential premise is that GWB has an utter conviction that whatever he does is right, because his cause is just and perfect. He’s not listening to anyone who isn’t telling him what he already knows is true. Period.

  63. Thrasymachos says:

Yeah, now the guy claims he couldn’t get a word in… more than likely, the real reason is that, when he was in the same room as Bush, he was speechless.

Now, after the fact, he blames Bush for his own inability to assert himself…

    pathetic.

  64. katy says:

Yeah, I tried googling that “quote” and couldn’t find it either. I’ve learned… you’ve got to check all troll “direct quotes”.

    yep, gotta do it…
my first attempt got nothing so i eliminated
all but the first 4 words…

  65. Clifton Broumand says:

Actually, I was not speechless. President Bush asked me about my experiences in regard to health care. He was willing to listen and I believe that he was interested. But when he asked about what can we do to fix these problems, he really did not ask me nor the others. It was a rhetorical question. I very rarely am speechless even with a President sitting beside me.

  66. Karl Schneider says:

#65…I hope you had a chance to take a shower after being close to that walking sack of filth…

  67. m12 says:

Funny, he gave far more money to the program than Clinton!
