Well, I can’t blame ya. It’s tough when ya have to explain your comments in order for your own kind to get it, eh? By the way, bud, I hate to tell you that your post wasn’t quite as lofty as ya seem to think. I really don’t think ya even had to clarify it for sludge. But we all understand how ya are, buddy. ;)

Spudge, I know what you mean. I typed the comment as a snarky one but, irony flew way over the head of upright left aka twisted rightie. Even exists an apocrypha, revealed not long ago, that describes exactly what you mean.

But well, some cultural level is needed to understand this, and evidently uppity wrong can’t reach it.

C’mon, bud, even pinko liberal cowards know that the military is overwhelmingly conservative. You don’t believe the majority of our soldiers are folks like yourself do ya? ;)

What kind of message does that send?

There’s a gun range there that rents machine guns to visitors (of any political leaning) who want to fire off some rounds at a target. I expect you’re under supervision and watched pretty closely.

I’ve thought about driving up from here in Boston, but haven’t gotten around to it.

It’s not like it implies that you think anyone should be able to own such weapons, or that you’re an NRA freak. From a liberal perspective, limiting use of such weapons to the firearms equivalent of a Chucky Cheese seems like a good thing.

(someone should get a camera into that event cause you can be damn sure they’ll be shooting at targets covered with pics of hillary, barack and donkeys – would make a great sequel to the macaca video)

(btw – i’m all for second amendment rights, so don’t even go there)

Nothing, except that you’re on a “progressive blog”, the fund raiser is hosted by “conservatives”, and the head hancho stated that this form of fundraising was a fun way to express yourself due to a little testosterone.

Judas has been turned into a bad guy by Christians who can’t seem to figure out that he was doing God’s work. Jesus HAD to be tortured and killed so he could die for the worlds sins. How does Judas turning in Jesus (as was prophesied) make him somebody Jesus would kill?

Actually, it does. IIRC, the thyroid produces both testosterone and estrogen in small quantities, so everyone has a little of the other sex’s hormone.

We liberals need to get over our irrational gun fears. Whether you see the 2nd Amendment as an individual right justified by the need for a militia, or a collective one held by a citizen militia, a standard infantry battle rifle like the M-16 (or its civilian equivalent, the AR-15) is PRECISELY what the amendment was intended to protect.
