There are more than 100,000 Blackwater mercenaries in Iraq (and that’s just Blackwater, which has 9 subsidiary companies, and there are several other PMCs not associated w/Blackwater). Bush seems to be amassing a sizeable for-profit private military force at taxpayer expense.

But there is something I find even more disturbing, and that is the fact that Blackwater is also expanding its operations in the U.S and building additional private military installations within the U.S in addition to their headquarters in North Carolina (East coast)–a new facility in Illinois (Midwest), and negotiating to build another in California(West coast)–Why????

Personally, I suspect it may have something to do with Bush’s new directive giving him dictatorial power. They have already utilized Blackwater in New Orleans after Katrina for the purposes of, among other things, law enforcement. These guys were patroling the streets with AKs in hand. Think about it, a bunch of highly paid killers, loyal only to the one who pays them, roaming our streets to enforce the law in the event of “civil unrest.”
