Recognizing that Anon is a troll, I've got to say . . . here in blog-land, we are demanding action, and we are getting none. If dems are complicit in the various debacles, our good dems have no ultimate incentive to tackle these problems.

These facts and this knowledge could come back and bite dems.

Perhaps Pelosi has weighed the odds and decided to obfuscate.

Me? Dem, Repug . . . . don't care. Just want the truth.

Empeach the whole lot of them.

Anon,

You raise good points. Why did Pelosi come right out of the box asserting that no empeachment proceedings were in the works? I'm a bit rushed, but that's a question that deserves an answer.

We must know who knew what and when they knew it.

Big Zero, you are a piece of work. To say:

In spite of Hitler’s evil, he was a fascinating character in what he was able to accomplish during his lifetime. Who knows how far Hitler could have gone in destroying European nations and rebuilding them in his image had it not been for the United States’ “interventionism”.

Yikes!!! You admire Hitler!!! ....................Not good.

Hitler embarked on a war of aggression, not unlike Bush. Driven by his delusion that he was on God's mission.

Fortunately, genocide isn't (or doesn't at this point appear to be) on dub'ya's mind.

GWB started this disaster based on his desire to rectify what he perceived to be his father's failure. He appealed to greed, his own and that of his buds, as well as his utter faith in the ignorance of the American people, to get the thumbs up. This was not a war to stop a genocide, it was a war to settle a beef. Not yours. Not mine. Not the thousands of soldiers who sacrificed their lives. For his.

If Halliburton and the Bush "Rangers" can make a buck in the process . . . . Yee Haw!

Napolean complex run amok. Perhaps that's why you want to super-size yourself . . . size zero "big" foot.

Putting aside AG lying for the moment: The DNC and GOP have both been briefed since 2001; had the chance to review the surveillance; and despite "concern" either didn't block funding; or they failed to ask questions. They had the duty to document their concerns and forward "concerns" with illegalities to the US Atty.

What's happened since 2001? Look at page 2 of 4: Pelosi's name is all over the briefing list: She didn't need "subpoena power" to get anything: She's known all along; or knew that her questions were not getting answered, but she continued to rubber stamp. Despite all that, she's taken impeachment off the table: To ensure her knowledge of the illegal activity doesn't get raised. This is a 5 USC 3331 issue: She the DNC and GOP appear to have jointly not asserted their oaths since 2001. No other reasonable conclusion.

Time to get the State AGs to issue indictments against her, Conyers, DNC-GOP Members of Congress, President, VP, and others complicit with this illegal activity. Likely attaches to war crimes, legal counsel, and civilians involved with illegal activity.

“Not the TSP?” responded Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y. “Come on. If you say it’s about other, that implies not. Now say it or not.”
“It was not,” Gonzales answered. “It was about other intelligence activities.”
I heard the exchange on NPR this morning and do not remember him saying "It was not". Is there a link to an audio or video of the exchange? I can't see youtube here.

All this talk about Gonzalez lying, but the House has taken impeachment off the table. How do they propose to enforce this? This is a waste of time. A better approach would be to work with the State AGs, encouraging them to enforce arrest warrants against the President, VP, and Members of Congress.

These are offenses not against the United States, but We the People and the States: Thus, the President has no power to issue a pardon for the the final sentence.

"O. Bigfoot

Supported Pat Robertson

AKA: A religious nutter. Most popularly known outside of America for blaming Ms Degeneres for Katrina. Good judgement call there.

James “Bo” Gritz

Who is known for having tried tp unite rightwing and leftwing conspiracy theorists.

Patrick Buchanan

Ahem, so you support the guy who wrote: …he was also an individual of great courage, a soldier’s soldier in the Great War, a political organizer of the first rank, a leader steeped in the history of Europe, who possessed oratorical powers that could awe even those who despised him…Hitler’s success was not based on his extraordinary gifts alone. His genius was an intuitive sense of the mushiness, the character flaws, the weakness masquerading as morality that was in the hearts of the statesmen who stood in his path.

Comment by Bruce Gorton — July 26, 2007 @ 10:59 am"

Despite your apparent disdain for my voting preferences, yup, those are the guys!

Pat Robertson has also called for the assasination of Hugo Chavez in order to save lives. Since someone else brought up the greatness of Harry Truman, I will follow with this: Robertson is kind of like Harry Truman calling for the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order to save lives. Speak your mind, follow through, no grey areas. The difference is that Harry Truman actually had the power to follow through.

James "Bo" Gritz also called for an end to the control of the two-party political system here in the United States, which some think of as "two heads of the same snake". I wonder if ace was old enough to vote for Gritz back in '92?

Patrick Buchanan has also shown himself to be against the war in Iraq, and against U.S. interventionism around the world. Yet you only state a quote of his about Adolph Hitler. A quote which is absolutely true, by the way. In spite of Hitler's evil, he was a fascinating character in what he was able to accomplish during his lifetime. Who knows how far Hitler could have gone in destroying European nations and rebuilding them in his image had it not been for the United States' "interventionism".

Unlike many of you, I can disagree with points in someone's philosophy without hating the person, or disregarding their entire philosophy as a whole.

It confirms NOTHING OF THE SORT. If anyone bothers to read what the freakin thing says it ONLY says who attended meetings where the topic covered was the TSP. It does NOT state other topics were not discussed, and it does NOT state what was discussed. Your attempt (and the AP's I might add) to use that document to attempt to discredit testimony is not only ridiculous it shows the way you read it to be just plain ignorant and stupid. Now. All you sheep keep baying and repeating what you think you heard about the memo and all you are doing is fooling yourselves, but that would be normal, now wouldn't it?

What's the matter, ben? Scroll wheel broken?

If you don't care to read what ace has to say, then scroll past his posts. It's easy. No one's making you read them.

As for "Posts cover arguments attempting to discredit TP commenters", isn't that what you're doing right now? Does that make you a "troll"?

(Of course not...it's OK when you do it, right?)

Many of us here value ace's contributions. If you don't, you might want to get that scroll wheel fixed.

ace is a troll. Let's look at the facts.

1. Constantly tries to change the subject.
2. posts large quantities of irrelevant content to try to break up the conversations in the comments
3. Posts cover arguments attempting to discredit TP commenters.

Good luck buddy. Go sell some crazy to Angelina Jolie.

Oh My God, who forgot to lock the gates at the GOPer zoo? The mods really should delete the accounts and posts of people who have no conection to reality. I read above something about Clinton not doing enough to prevent 9/11.

For the love of reality, please, please visit your local library or perhaps try WhiteHouse.gov and carefully examine the date when Baby-Georgie first took the oath of office. Now, I know this will be a mind bending experience, but if you look at the date very closely you'll discover that it was before 9/11/2001. Okay, in case you're still clueless, let me remind you that we only have ONE President in office at a time. So Mr. Clinton was not in office for about 8 months before 9/11 and Mr. Bush was in office for about 8 months before 9/11.

It's just more of the Rovian Sandbox Guide to Politics. I think chapter 3 is "But teacher, Johnny did it first..." We've heard GOPers do this for 6 years and it's still child's play. To see men acting like 5 year olds is embarrassing, but that's the modern GOP.

PS: Impeach Buch, Cheney, and Gonzo for no other reason than absolute love of country and the Constitution which is above any party or politician.

Ahem, so you support the guy who wrote: ...he was also an individual of great courage, a soldier's soldier in the Great War, a political organizer of the first rank, a leader steeped in the history of Europe, who possessed oratorical powers that could awe even those who despised him...Hitler's success was not based on his extraordinary gifts alone. His genius was an intuitive sense of the mushiness, the character flaws, the weakness masquerading as morality that was in the hearts of the statesmen who stood in his path.

Boy, I sure do hope that this isn't a case of bait and switch. Imagine the shock, the shock, I will endure if there were other meetings on March 10, 2004, which did not focus on the TSP.

Good to see that AP, Think Progress, and the Democratic media are keeping an open mind about all possibilities before jumping to conclusions.......

With David Shuster jumping onboard saying it's "very important", that signals to me that it is exactly the opposite. Shuster has a tendency to get things completely wrong because he's a moron who can't even comprehend English.

"Basically, I’m an American before I am a Liberal , but there’s no way I am ever going to allow a Republican to live who gains the Presidency."

Just like you, ALL Republicans, yes even the little old lady down the block should be killed. They are traitors on the face. They believe in Capitalism over Democracy.

See the republotrolls are complaining that the Negroponte document mention the program, but is not dated the correct date. What they fail to do is read the whole of the letter, which included a listing of all the attendees of the meetings about The Terrorist Surveillance Program.

Simple...see. Just read what is in front of you. But like the Republitrolls they are they OBSFISCATE, OBSFISCATE, OBSFISCATE. While we are busy trying to get to the first layer of crap of the administration, they tell us it does not need to be cleaned, "we cleaned it last year", Clinton made it dirty by lying about a personal matter with a consenting adult, It is a power of the Executive to have a PRIVILEGE THAT TRUMPS OUR LAWS.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?
