Fox Attacks: Bloggers.

As part of his Fox Attacks series, Robert Greenwald has a new video compiling Fox News’ assault on the progressive blogosphere. The network’s hosts and guests have attacked bloggers as “radical Internet assassins,” “McCarthyism,” and “conspiracy-driven.” Watch it:

Contact Fox News’s advertisers and inform them about the network’s inaccurate reporting.

OMG! I’m an “internet assasin”??? Why didn’t somebody tell me I was living a double life? And I thought I was just a bookkeep…

  2. VerbalKint says:

Geez, talk about projection. But….projection is integral to the Republican mind, along with extreme hypocrisy, intellectual dishonesty, contempt for the rule of law, and an unhealthy obsession with everything sexual.

  3. ForTruth says:

    “McCarthyism”

    Project much?

  4. Menehune says:

I think most of Fox’s advertisers are very aware of Fox’s inaccurate reporting. I would say some of them are complicit in it.

  5. missmolly says:

This only applies to the “progressive” blogoshere? I assume we are to infer that conservative bloggers are true patriots.

Your radical right-wing agenda is showing with your double-standards, Fox.

Yeah — bet you didn’t know you were that powerful! Of course, since you didn’t finish your last word, it’s obvious the agents “got” to you. Pity — I always liked your posts!

  7. Krazny says:

This is part of the campaign to make sure that the remaining loyal fox viewers firmly believe that all democrats are controlled by a small far left minority.

  8. bilbobaggins says:

I like that site they set up. I am more than happy to join the fight. I do agree with #4. I think they are very aware of what Fox represents and once the balance of power shifts to the left, those advertisers will abandon Fox in droves.

But, it can’t hurt letting the advertisers know what you think. I put my political voice to my pocketbook. There are quite a few places I won’t shop because they advertise on sites like O’ Reilly or Malkin’s sites.

We all have to remember that Imus wasn’t fired until the advertisers started to jump ship.

  9. The Republic of Stupidity says:

Of course it does, missmolly. Us Lefties ALL hate America. We’re just terrorist scum. Them right-thinkin’ Righties are all “Freedom Fighters”.

He*k, when was the last time you saw a “librul” order Freedom Fries?

    Isn’t that proof enough?

  10. missmolly says:

    To #7:

To Fox viewers, anything left of Ann Coulter is a “small far left minority” — just most of the country.

  11. ForTruth says:

    Meuller contradicts Gonzo!

Uh, isn’t this more of a story than some post about Fox news?

  12. Egreggious says:

This freedom of speech thing has to stop!

  13. bilbobaggins says:

There were two clips that made me laugh. The first was them quoting the “liberal” Joe Klein…If he’s a liberal I’m a Martian. The second was Tom Delay saying “the left is never held accountable”. Now that one was a doozy!

  14. CT Scan says:

The problem with the “blogosphere” (I assume FOX to be referring to libetrolls) is the constant personal attacks they launch and the overextending, pompous sense of entitlement they feel when submitting every posting. These blogcrats are no better than Ward Churchill, the worst professor in America (who was FIRED two days ago, and rightfully so.).

  15. missmolly says:

You’re right — it proves one must be a complete idjit to not be considered a “librul”.

  16. ForTruth says:

I almost feel like TP wants us to defend them. None needed. We know the deal with Fox news. How about the latest on Gonzo’s problems?

  17. SGT Higgins says:

OMG! I’m an “internet assasin”??? Why didn’t somebody tell me I was living a double life? And I thought I was just a bookkeep…

Comment by The Republic of Stupidity

Mmm hmmm… spoken like a TRUE internet assassin. And you thought you had us fooled with that innocent bookkeeper persona? You’re not only an assassin, but a fool!

The real question now is, since FOX News has blown your cover, and the cover of every other internet assassin (uh-oh…I think I might be an internet assassin) will Congress go after ‘em and make ‘em pay an easily payable fine? And will Dubya commute all of our sentences?

  18. bill says:

i think my favourite line has to be:

“the left are never held accountable” (tom delay)

meanwhile, delay, a criminal, prances around texas.

  19. leftcoast says:

    McCarthyism??
What a bunch of crap. What this administration is up to is as much McCarthyism as you can get. It silences anyone in government agencies. It smears them and threatens their livelyhood.

—- WHAT? is this true? Hey, no, for real, you guys/gals don’t order freedom fries? What are you? A bunch of freedom-haters? wtf? They’re made with IDAHO potatoes, helloooooooo??

    Isn’t that proof enough?
—- Got a link? you know, showing a liberal ordering ‘French fries’? (Man, that really gets my goat. )

  23. Republicans Can't Govern. says:

Fox News’ blog is locked down to paying members only. Many other Conservative blogs are also heavily policed and dissenters are kicked out. I guess the Right hates experiencing a true “town square.”

This, of course, is directly in line with Bush’s fake “town hall” meetings consisting only of invited guests.

  24. candideinnc says:

Inroads are being made on Faux’ reputation, even with its base. They are pissed as hell that they were not trated like the big boy MSM outfits (”news” outfits would be giving them too much credit) and offered the opportunity to sucker punch the Democratic candidates at a debate. We need to find more ways to expose these propagandists. Their assault on the bloggers is terrific. Did you see the free advertising Kos got on Olberman last night? I hope they make war. It will open the eyes of their sheeple.

  25. Egreggious says:

It’s almost a good sign that this is all these guys have remaining to go after the Left with.

Now perhaps its time to have an anti-FOX solidarity march.

What bugs me most of all is the “journalists” that work and “report” there.

When did these poor people decide to sell their souls, and why?
    Why?

  43. bobh says:

The Fnox Nuts Channel controllers JUST realized that the MSM is using blogs to get a lead on stories they SHOULD be covering.

Mr. Churchills dismissal, for one, was in no way related to the issue of ‘freedom of speech.’ It was a serious breach of academic integrity in his research (plagiarism, etc.). The University of Colorado has its integrity to uphold. The ‘freedom of speech’ claim in that case was a lefty talking-point.

What Fox calls the far left is middle America. Fox is so far right that the middle looks extreme left. On the issues most Americans(according to the polls) are progressive liberals. So this condescending snobbery of Fox TV personalities is based on their ignorance of the American voters. They live in denial of the ‘06 elections that say they are in the minority and basically irrelevant to political discussion.

What gripes my ass though is that FOX ATTACKS just shows Fox attacking without any response or refuting of their propaganda. They put it all into convenient form to hit us with their hate filled message all at once, and then say …do something. Okay I will. I’ll stop watching Fox Attacks who just reiterates their message. I get nothing but stupid form letters back from their sponsors about they don’t really support the shows…they’re just advertising etc.. And it outrages me to have to sit through their vomiting rhetoric. I didn’t watch it to begin with so I really don’t want to watch a summary of it. Intelligent corporations know that most people don’t say anything, they just stop using their products. I don’t even watch their advertising.

Why does Oreilly call bloggers who are American democratic citizens, Stalinists, Mcarthyists, fascists, and Nazis? Obviously hes just throwing out crap and hoping something sticks. The reason he has to throw out so much bias and names is because he is utterly clueless when it comes to internet protocols and the people behind the monitors/screens. This is not a hate site, just one thats tired of dittoheads projecting groupthink opinions onto people they don’t know. If you were to meet me, personall, outside of the internet you would find that I believe in God, will help you fix your car or plane, and can hold conversations on many levels from computers to planes to cars to politics to physics to philosophy. Just because a talking head, left or right utters his opinion about a secular group of educated Americans does not make it so. Please don’t repeat the media rubbish here.

    Comment by missmolly — July 26, 2007 @ 4:41 pm

Clearly, you lefties have gone too far.

    Comment by CT Scan — July 26, 2007 @ 5:02 pm

Sorry so late to respond, but I actually have a life and was busy yesterday evening.

It looks like you got me. Here I assumed you condemned Ward Churchill (the “worst professor in America”) because of his somewhat controversial theories and the fact that he made his students think instead of merely absorb. And that you were comparing “blogcrats” to him for that reason.

Now I find out that the reason you consider Churchill the worst professor in America because of plagiarism and other infractions — NOT because of his opinions and his tendency to express them. Who knew?

So I guess your point is that we “blogcrats” are free to post whatever is on our minds, and as long as we don’t steal anyone else’s words, that’s OK with you? (cut-and-pasters, beware!)
