Last time I checked, it was MY tax dollars that paid for that plane, probably as much if not more than Mr. Bush’s, & I’m perfectly willing to have people criticize him on it. When is he going to realize he’s not a God, but just one of us people, & take his lumps like the rest of us.

You folks are the ones being childish, and this is a childish “news” story. The President decides who flys with him, and he can tell Specter to catch the next plane if he wants to. “You dance with the one who brung you..”

Didn’t your momma’s teach you any manners? It’s called being polite.

It someone riding with me wants to debate ME while I’m driving somewhere, that’s fine, but if someone criticsizes me to third parties while riding in my car, they’re walking from there. I hope they’re wearing comfortable shoes.

Air Force One is a privilege of the office of President. It is available at the President’s sole discretion.

For those of you who have the attitude that “my tax dollars pay for Air Force One, so it’s OUR jet!”, I challenge you to attempt to barge onboard next time Air Force One is at an airport near you. Tell ‘em it’s “our” plane, and you want to ride with the President to his next destination.

Do that, and then report back how it works out for you…we’ll understand if it’s a few years before we hear from you again.

One would almost think that Specter was a “maverick” Republican, one who puts our country and our Constitution above all the neo-con Republcan machinations, and yet time and again he has proven that he toes the White House party line when push comes to shove and he actually votes.

This is why I said it sounds like Specter’s hobnobbing with the press pool on Air Force One sounds contrived. First, he wouldn’t have been talking to them unless he’d been told to talk to them, since we all know what control freaks there are in the Bush administration, which I’m certain goes doubly on Air Force One. Second, he was also told what to say to them, giving the impression that he isn’t a White House “made man” when his voting record proves he is.

Thus, my guess is that the White House political wing on Air Force One ordered Specter to go talk to the press and handed him a prepared script, or they’d throw him off Air Force One…at 35,000 feet…without a parachute…so he obeyed.

Not going to happen until GW is no longer president.

Your short-fused “troll” opposition stands in the way of understanding anything rational.
