Look, we can’t constantly rag on the Dear Leader’s past as inattentive and then project his Conscious disregard for something that happened within that same time frame of obliviousness. As far as professional sports and steroids use, don’t punish Barry, punish the profiteering enablers. I don’t buy the Reagan intelligence duality skit from SNL for Dear Leader. His past has been proven to be a situation where not all the porch lights were on and I don’t see him as caring enough to have an opinion. I bet he couldn’t have named more than 3 players while he was with the Rangers. You know Pal, Buddy and Guy.

While the pervasive use of steroids and human growth hormone certainly calls into question how several home run records were attained during the previous decade, I would again remind people that such use was not formally deemed by Major League Baseball to be illegal until just a couple of years ago.

Should Barry Bonds be penalized for any previous use of steroids or HGH by him prior to 2003-04, when MLB finally succumbed to public pressure and clamped down on an obvious problem?

If that be the case, then should I also be penalized at this late date for having drunk alcohol as a teenaged freshman in college, even though I was 27 when the legal age to purchase alcoholic beverages was finally raised from 18 to 21?

Because from standpoints both legal and ethical, what’s the difference?

Think Progress’ standard of Truth: Jose Canseco, self-admitted user of steroids.

Wow. A claim made by Canseco, without supporting evidence or any independent collaboration, and all of a sudden Bush has a “steroids record”.

I’m amazed anyone actually uses Think Progress as a source for anything other than conspicuous and overt propaganda.

But hey, at least their single source isn’t anonymous this time. Go TP.
