It’s really too bad our “liberal” media has had a virtual media blackout about Peak Oil. I have known about it for years now and that is one reason why I am joining a co-housing community. I feel my ability to survive what is coming as a result of peak oil will be much better living in a loving and supportive community.

Most scientists think that we are at the peak right now or we have past that point. Peak oil is the reason why Bush started this conflagration in the middle east. Somehow his pea brain was convinced that if we destabilize the middle east, all their oil is going to start flowing our way. He is dumber than dirt. Those countries are not going to reward our bad behavior by giving us first shot at their oil.

If we don’t start NOW finding alternative energy sources, we are in major trouble as a country. Many European countries can survive without oil, we can’t.

And the thing I don’t understand is why the Republicans are not behind alternative energy sources. It will be a major money making industry once it gets started. So, intelligence would say that we should get these alternative sources of energy going BEFORE we run out of oil. But, Corporate America is not known for seeing the big picture. All they can see is the next dollar in front of them.

And, at this point, still too sore.

Oh yeah….the skunks. We’ve got them too. Blech.

We have deer, racoons, and skunks (yuck). The skunks come out on hot nights in the summer and let loose outside our bedroom window. It is usually because they get startled by our cats. I HATE it when they do that. There is nothing worse than waking up to that smell…

Ah, the memories.

I raised two sons. I learned to never flinch — spiders, garter snakes, slugs, leeches — no hint of the freakout until they were outside again. Otherwise, I’m sure I would have found the critters in my bed.

Maybe gummitch will learn with grandchildren…..? :D

Oh, ick! I think I’d have to move. :P

When I lived in Louisiana, after they harvested the soy bean fields the rats would move into our houses. Disgusting. I was almost as terrified of the rat traps as I was the rats.

I don’t have a strainer on my shower drain. The other day, I walked in the bathroom and a rat went down the drain! I couldn’t get to it and I didn’t want it to get into the kitchen and break into all the food, so I sealed the drain shut. I hope that rat found it’s way to the sewer, or my bathroom will soon smell even worse than it already does.

We have bunnies too. Not enough cover for deer, and I’m happy without the tree rats. :)
