Unfortunately, that means we can’t do our regular monitoring of Sunday shows. Let us know what we missed. We’re looking forward to getting back to our regular posting tomorrow.

Howie the doofus almost gave YK and progs due credit for what we’re (if I may be so bold) doing. But, someone better check me on that, I’ve only had half a cup of coffee yet…..
[I]n terms of the most critical fundamental principles, there is no difference whatsoever between the Republicans and the Democrats as institutions of power in the U.S. political system as it has developed over the last hundred years.
[...]
[T]hey both agree that the government must be empowered to do whatever it wants, with no constraints at all, even if those constraints are imposed by the Constitution itself.
i have seriously wanted to believe that democrats could make a difference, but i was sadly mistaken… from the beginning of the congressional session in january, it’s become horrifically clear that, when it comes to truly upholding our united states constitution, there is no daylight whatsover between the two parties… for both of them, it’s all about money and power…
Just a thought: if everyone registered Republican, the 70% could take control of that party away from the Evangelicals.
Imagine that: One Party Rule, where we, the people, rule that party.

I respectfully disagree with that last part. If control of the Republican Party were taken back from the Evangelicals, it would revert back to Corporate America, only they would make it even worse.
Nor do I believe that all of our hopes rest with the Democratic Party, either. Their relationship with Corporate America has gotten a little too cozy for our safety, too.
What we as a nation need to do is open our eyes and stop looking to either of the two major political parties as the answer to our problems because, by and large, they ARE our problem.
Don’t paint all Democrats with the same brush. Some like Russ Feingold gave eloquent criticism of the Spy bill that passed congress. This bill sunsets in 6 months. We just have to make the case that it is being abused by the Bush Administration….to overcome the fears of the Democrats who are afraid of being blamed for another terrorist attack.
I posted my views about their web site and had my address blocked. There was nothing profane in my posting. It was somewhat scathing but wow they really don’t like dissenting views.
You didn’t miss much. Just another Republican Sunday on the two major talk shows, “Meet the Republicans” and “This Republican, with George Stephanopolis”.
After 6 years of bungling catastrophic clusterf$$#ks you’d think these shows might want to show us more alternative guests. Democrats, liberals, 3rd party candidates. You know, normal folks.
But it seems after 6 years of disaster, all the Sunday morning shows want to show us is more of the republican masters of disaster.
The Danger is not who you vote for but who you dont
everyone will vote democrat this election cause they dont want repulsive
what to do is when the democrats are in power start the third Liberal party then take the election…………
everyone is so dissatified with the repulsives that they will not get in for 50 years ……..meanwhile create a third party that will steal votes from the democrats which everyone will be upset with by then cause they have republican idiologies in a different colour
I’m still dreaming up a ticket of Gore/Clark running as Independents and working with Congress and Senate by solving the issues at hand with whoever is willing to go the way of reason. Party affiliation wouldn’t matter.
Don’t ever underestimate the ignorance of the American people or the drive, power and might of the right.
I’m not a fan, but they control more and more of every aspect of our lives from the benches to the pulpits the masses are spoon fed conservative lies day in and day out to the point that most sheeple believe that for example the media is biased toward liberals, which we know is not the case, but even in that lie they brainwash and distort to move people further to the right, and it’s working very effectively.
Watching the republican debate on ABC now, and it’s apparent that they’re playing to a very small base. Every time a candidate espouses a truly hard-core right position, the applause is quite small.
Ron Paul gets the biggest applause calling for withdrawl from Iraq. Probably from all of the newly-minted independents and libertarians.
Tom Tancredo sounds crazier than ever, defending his calls for bombing mecca and Medina.
Tommy Thompson just called the war on terror a “holy war.” What a boneheaded political statement.
Brownback is incoherent, saying we must do better at diplomacy, before Pakistan gets nuclear weapons.
Rudy is claiming that reducing taxes will pay for funding capitol improvements like he did in New York City – and then admits the lower-wage new york City workers were the ones who bore the shifted tax burden.
Two candidates (McCain and Romney) slammed Sen. Steven’s bridge to nowhere…
Sorry I stopped watching Timmy Russert because he only has guest to use the show to promote their books.
Little Timmy caved in to the Bush Administration because he thought he would lose his job. So rather then represent the people in an honest/non bias reporting Little Timmy just does a suck up one of covering up for the White House. Now the Bob dude on CBS is out spoken an honest. ABC is brought and paid for by the White House. Look to PBS as the only media reporting honest fair news that’s because their independent. Oh notice I said nothing about Fox News aka Republican comedy hour well only the people will like to hear fairy tales listen to the Fox news. Even the foreign media laughs at Fox news.
TP > post a thread on Democratic base being pissed off at party leadership for allowing the FISA override bill to get passed, by Senate and House turncoats.
Sorry, due to the obvious take over of the media by the right, I canceled my cable altogether. The media has become a fourth fascist arm to our government… for the corporations by the corporations and of the corporations.
Walt lol > I think the oxcart wheels fell off, so they are trying to hitch-hike back to their TP office. How does going to Kos gathering prohibit putting up a new thread or two? It’s not like they went to Las Vegas and all have hangovers from drinking.
Walt > I get tired of having to kick Democrats in DC almost daily. They always act surprised like they never do anything bad. They are like petulent children who need to be spanked.
Any one receiving an email with this in the path:
“Received: from noehlo.host ([127.0.0.1])”
Should be very wary. To check the path, click message, then properties. Scroll up and if that pattern shows near the top, toss the message or report it to your ISP and then toss it.
what did you miss. Absolutely the same thing that you would have missed on any sunday morning– absolutely nothing. Pure unadulterated nothing!

I missed the stream of controversies over the TV press offerings. Also reviews of the OpEd columns. Frank Rich’s OpEd on the Michael E. O’Hanlon, Senior Fellow, Foreign Policy Studies and Kenneth M. Pollack, Director of Research, Saban Center for Middle East Policy OpEd was very informative.

August 5th, 2007 at 11:44 amTobey Tall,
Republicans wont get back in for 50 years?

This country is in peril.

August 5th, 2007 at 11:56 amNow, Little George is trying to get them on record about the VP’s responsibility.
Brownback is criticizing Bush, saying he’s too weak in relation to Cheney.
Paul is saying Cheney is out of control.
Hunter is saying “we’re all in this together” – meaning bupkis.
Now the Fair Tax is in debate.
Huckberry Hound supports it, saying pimps, drug dealers, and others will have to pay it. *snerk*
Romney’s against it.
Rudy “eliminate the death tax,” “lets not have any taxes.”
McCain is saying Alan Greenspan will save us.
Tancredo thinks tax policy represents favoritism.
E- mail question:
What is the defining mistake of your life – Romney says his pro choice support was wrong.
McCain said his mistake was getting caught taking Keating money.
Tancredo gave some platitude about being born again.
A true chorus of jingoes – except for Ron Paul.
August 5th, 2007 at 12:19 pmgeorge, your father’s a priest…
i’d rather explain it to your father.
-rudy, at the repug debate…
