Last week, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) appeared on Fox News and disclosed a secret court ruling about the Bush administration’s warrantless wiretapping program. Today, “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Department of Justice asking that the Counterespionage Section of the National Security Division initiate an investigation” into whether Boehner “violated the law by leaking classified information.”

Sure. They’ll get right on it…(NOT!)
August 6th, 2007 at 4:04 pmBe careful. Boner will just break down and start crying.
August 6th, 2007 at 4:04 pmLessee,

So they will get right on it then?
Also, FISA’s decisions aren’t on the public record?
August 6th, 2007 at 4:07 pmNewsweek is reporting an interesting development in the FISA leak investigation:

TP should be discussing this.
August 6th, 2007 at 4:14 pmWhile Boehner was leaking away, Alberto Gonzales’ DOJ was raiding the home of a former Justice official to identify the person who first brought the illicit NSA domestic surveillance program to light.
For the disturbing details of selective retribution by the White House, see:

Pyrrho (or whatever he’s calling himself these days — I can’t keep up, and I’m in his frickin’ bedroom) suffers from “boehner leaks” too. But whenever anyone tries to investigate, he stonewalls.
He usually claims he spilled a milkshake on his sheets. When his mom asks him what he was doing with a milkshake in his bedroom, he accuses her of launching a partisan fishing expedition.

I agree; TP should be discussing the story you linked.
August 6th, 2007 at 4:20 pmROFLMAO! GO GET HIM GONZALES! LOL!!!!!!!!!
August 6th, 2007 at 4:20 pmBut see, the rule is, Republicans can leak whatever they want. CIA agent names, secret court rulings, etc. If a Democrat does the same thing, it’s called “aiding the terrorists”. Got it?
August 6th, 2007 at 4:21 pmI tried to do some research on this issue, but the blocking software my mom put on my computer won’t let me search for “boehner leaksâ€.
August 6th, 2007 at 4:21 pmWill Bush sic Fredo on Bo(h)ner and have Fredo invade Bo(h)ner’s home and confiscate Bo(h)er’s computers and Bo(h)ner’s children’s computers?
August 6th, 2007 at 4:34 pmOr is the (in)Justice Department merely political stormtroopers for Bush’s ideological junta?
That is why I call him a BONER > lol.
August 6th, 2007 at 4:35 pmJeepers, nothing worse that walking around Washington with a leaking Boner.

Funny… that’s what Mr P used to say all the time…
August 6th, 2007 at 4:41 pmI believe it is impossible for Republicans to violate the law.
August 6th, 2007 at 4:48 pmAnother leftwing attack.Go for it
August 6th, 2007 at 4:49 pmFrom link: “Notably, Minority Leader Boehner has previously expressed strong concerns over illegal leaks for political gain. In discussing a long-running court case regarding an illegally intercepted phone call that Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) released to the media, Rep. Boehner stated: ‘When you break the law in pursuit of a political opponent, you’ve gone too far. Members of Congress have a responsibility not only to obey the laws of the country and the rules of our institution, but also to defend the integrity of those laws and rules when they are violated.’ ”
Ah — another Vitter moment, I see. How will Boehner spin out of this one?
August 6th, 2007 at 4:56 pmYou all just can’t see the “Greatness” in Boehner-just ask Tweety..
August 6th, 2007 at 5:00 pmBoner was doing his job as the White House will leak when necessary. Now if an American tells the truth about crimes committed by the Bush Administration that’s a crime and he/she must be punished. Yes even taking childrens computers is now Bush law. The cat is out of the bag and the World knows Bush/Cheney are crooks and liars to anything goes. The media will do it’s best to spin/blame/lie about the crimes committed by the White House and GOP.
August 6th, 2007 at 5:31 pmNo problem! Bush will simply declassify the information. Isn’t that what he normally does when a GOP cohort has a little slip of the tongue?
August 6th, 2007 at 5:43 pmDoes any one know if what he leaked is true?
August 6th, 2007 at 10:14 pmI just know CREW will start to show concern for other CIA/DOD/State leaks as well.
August 6th, 2007 at 10:40 pmBoehner disclosed classified information which is a crime. He should resign as Minority Leader and his seat. If a democrat would have done this republicans would be calling out for his or her blood. Yet because it is Boehner both the White House and the GOP are silent on this. What Boehner did was irresponsible and criminal. The Justice Department should open an investigation into this. A special prosecutor should be appointed as soon as possible. The House Ethics Committee should open an investigation. At the very least he should be censured. A grand jury should be convened as soon as possible. He clearly broke the law.
August 6th, 2007 at 11:56 pm“Last week, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) appeared on Fox News and disclosed a secret court ruling about the Bush administration’s warrantless wiretapping program.”
“As the Bush administration’s “point man in Congress,†House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), has a “meeting every week with the president to plot strategy.â€
Well, at least we now know who leaked this classified information to Bush boot-licker Boehner…Bush himself.
Why both of these traitors to our democracy haven’t been arrested yet is beyond me.
August 7th, 2007 at 2:02 amCould this qualify as a Plame moment?
August 7th, 2007 at 9:40 amToday, “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Department of Justice asking that the Counterespionage Section of the National Security Division initiate an investigation†into whether Boehner “violated the law by leaking classified information.â€
Er….. did they happen to mention why they did this ?
Real big fans of Alberto Gonzales and Bush are they ?
Sick of him not having a concrete reason to avoid answering questions on this exact same subject ?
Perhaps they are just sports fans who want less coverage of spying program revelations in the papers and more baseball.
