@ 2. That’s funny about Obama. He was the only one getting ovations, while Dodd, Biden, and Clinton have all been booed by the crowd more than once. I would hardly say Obama looks “out of his league.”
MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann will be hosting which should make for a great forum. Candidate Mike Gravel will not be appearing at tonight’s forum and there’s conflicting information as to why. You can watch the candidate’s prerecorded opening statements here.
Why is Comcast scrambling the broadcase in Nashville? I have been trying to watch since 5pm and it is scrambled. Repeated calls to Comcast, they have taken the phone off the hook.
If there was an honesty meter on the issues discussed tonight.
I will give A to Dennis Kucinich as the most honest of them all.His words and fight looks natural.
But the media will focus only on what Clinton and Obama said.
Obama showed very well. Kucinich did great.
Actually, I would be happy with any one of those on the stage. And when compared to what we have today, well, there is no comparison.
KO did a fine job moderating. Some of the audience questions were heartfelt and moving.
You would think that HClinton ’s inablitity to answer a question would make her apoor candidate but don’t forget we are in America.
What has her leading by how many points I can’t see.Maybe Americans are in love with her fuzzy answers.
I wish, however, he had worked into an answer a comment about the attack on our Constitution. Not a single Democratic nominee said anything about restoring Habeas Corpus or the 4th amendment we just lost with the Illegal Warrantless Wiretapping law Bush just signed. Or signing statements.
I’m surprised that Keith Olbermann, who talks a great deal about the loss of Habeas Corpus on Countdown didn’t work it into a question.
I can only assume that the candidates want to acquire the new Unitary powers that Bush has carved out for the president?? Otherwise one candidate would have said something about it. Right?
I wish, however, he had worked into an answer a comment about the attack on our Constitution.
Agreed, although he might have just been wary of harping on the point…never mind that it is the single most important issue currently facing this nation, if you obsess on it, you come across as obsessive.
Speaking of obsessive, is there any hard data out there regarding Gravel’s conspicuous absence? Did he decline to attend, or was he specifically disinvited?
debate aside…what is the reality?
I do not believe this country will elect a woman or black man for president.
Nominated? Of course. That’s the easy part. Elected?? that’s a much different story. Will the people of America, alone in the voting booth, pull that lever? I say no. Unfortunately, the Republican party is hoping for this scenario.

How about you? Are you a racist or misogynist? Are you going to vote Republican if a black or female cadidate wins the nomination? If so, then you may be right. if not, then you shouldn’t assume you’re so special. Plenty of liberals are long over the racism and misogyny of the Right. Plenty of others have seen the light; rich, white men are the people to be trusted with the kind of power Bush stole.
The DLC, RNC, and msm…
…are DETERMINED to make Hillary Clinton and Rudy Julia’ni/Mitt ‘flip-flop Romney…
…the respective nominees…
you’re correct, big papa…
i’ve thought from the beginning that it was the right wing
corporate media who has nominated hillary as the candidate
they want their guy to run against…
the people better get out in absolute droves to vote for a
“people’s candidate” to keep this country as the representative
governed, democratic republic that it was intended to be.
.
i regret that i missed seeing the debate, but did watch some of the
post game show… according to matthews, biden and dodd have
chosen hillary also… it’s a tag team…
and all the others are “going for second” now…
MSNBC’s Olbermann-moderated debate Tues. night averages less than one million viewers! Only 914,000 tune-in… Lowest rated debate of the 2007 political season
Where’s MIKE GRAVEL?
THIS IS SHAMEFUL!
August 7th, 2007 at 8:09 pmClinton is trying too hard, but she’s actually doing pretty good. Biden is on his game.
Obama just looks out of his league.
August 7th, 2007 at 8:16 pmGO OBAMA!!!
August 7th, 2007 at 8:18 pmThe best one up there so far is Kucinich. He’s said a mouthful in the few tiny seconds Olberman has given him.
PS. Olberman does good on his news show but he sucks as a moderator.

August 7th, 2007 at 8:20 pmObama is amazing!
August 7th, 2007 at 8:21 pmKucinich hits it out of the park every time he opens his mouth.
It’s a damned shame he won’t be our next president. He could actually do this country some good.

Bill Richardson just needs to be nice to the other candidates and maybe one of them will make him the secretary of Agriculture or something.

August 7th, 2007 at 8:43 pmTP’s live blogging is…err….yea. We saw this the last time they “Live Blogged.”
August 7th, 2007 at 8:45 pmWOO HOO, OBAMA!!! Knocked that one out of the park!

August 7th, 2007 at 9:00 pmHillary and Edwards got their way. They squeezed out the common man already. YOU THINK THEY’RE NOT GOING TO SQUEEZE YOU OUT?
August 7th, 2007 at 9:01 pmBesides Kucinich, John Edwards did the best, in my opinion.
August 7th, 2007 at 9:03 pmTMM, understood, now, I really have to get home so I can do this crap all over again tomorrow.
August 7th, 2007 at 9:04 pmZooey,

Real live blogging. (snicker)
Maybe someone needs to tell them to stop using that term if they’re not going to actually *blog LIVE*

…in each one of those polls Obama won the people’s vote…
…yet among the “experts” and ‘pundits’ Hillary won…
…aftter tonight’s debate…
…MSNBC has no such poll…
…THEIR poll asks the question…
…”Who’s the best candidate for labor?”…
…and once again…
…Hillary “won”…
…according to Pat Buchanan, and (sell out) Willie Brown…

I watch the “presidential forum” last night…..What a lame bunch, not one of them is qualified to be POTUS.
As much as I disagree with him though, Kucinich is the only one of them who is not a complete fraud.
