The whole question of what it means to “support the troops” is being hijacked by idiots who want a perpetual war–good for rich peoples’ portfolios but not for the troops–and by punks who enjoy the pain of others(blown up any frogs lately Mr. P? No you’ve moved up to blowing up people). Putting an inadequate number of troops into a battle, causing them to fight without proper armor, demolishing the infrastructure of a nation while failing to anticipate the fallout from removing a nations’ government has served no cause other than the so called Iraq aq, and the self same lovers of endless war.

The troops also have loved ones and children, who are victims of fear and worry and loss.

The whole “support the troops” thing is a hijacking of the true issues of accountability for poor planning and poor execution if a poor plan. Reminds me of the blame game going around about who will be “responsible” for the next attack. Everybody wants to evade that label, so they punt the issue–along with the constitution–

Sophistry is the root of a lot of this corruption. Repeating the same erroneous “facts” does not make them true, even for poorly potty trained trolls. Nor for political pundits.

Obviously you don’t speak to many troops — I just returned from Iraq after serving my THIRD tour, and every man in my command is glad to be doing their job. Yes, they would rather be at home with their families, but they understand (unlike you) that what they are doing needs to be done, and they understand they are fighting for the betterment of others — exactly what they signed on the dotted line to do. This bickering and wanting us to lose in Iraq talk really ashames me, and pisses off my fellow Marines.

I was in Vietnam and didn’t incude it in this list as it also was an illegal war and was a no-win situation, given the way it was fought and the lack of leadership it had, just like this Clusterf@ck in Iraq.

As for WWII, you would have fought tooth and nail against the tactics used to win that war. Japanese were tortured – they were sent off to camps by FDR. Would you let Bush do that to Muslims? AND FDR kept the press off the battlefield – imagine if Bushitler did that? AND lastly, the liberals today would scream if Truman bombed the Japanese to win a war.

Hey Doc! Good to know you!

I was in Air Sea Rescue (ARRS) attached to first the 12th TAC and then the 483rd, with duty at Cam Ranh and in Pleiku. Spent some time on the ground but nothing like you Gyrenes. Got my PH from a stray piece of shrapnel while waiting out my own extraction after the penetrator was unclipped due to some bad stuff from the ground.

You corpsmen were the best with the biggest brass ones.

And it is funny how the trolls here never served but can’t stand that others did and are against this illegal war. Probably from playing too many x-box war games. They don’t have a clue about reality. Is very safe to fight from the safety of the keyboard and joystick, I guess.
