He won't acknowledge the civil war. The surge was supposed to give Maliki enough room to make political progress which he has failed to do. In the beginning of the war Bush went in with too few troops. Sending troops at this late stage is pointless. We can no longer win this war militarily. Maliki is unable to do what is being asked of him. There is still no oil law. The Shiia militias have not been disbanded. Al Sadr is stronger than ever. The Sunnis members have left the cabinet. Parliament has gone on vacation. No effort has been made to bring more Sunnis into the government via debaathification. Yesterday we lost 4 more Americans in Iraq.
