Murdoch complains he’s being treated as ‘genocidal tyrant.’
In his first detailed comments since his acquisition of the Wall Street Journal, media tycoon Rupert Murdoch “complained that his victorious three-month battle to buy the Wall Street Journal involved fending off criticism bearing a degree of vitriol usually reserved for “genocidal tyrants.’”
“The Wall Street Journal is the greatest newspaper in America and one of the greatest in the world,” said Mr Murdoch, insisting that he would be hiring – rather than firing – staff. The paper had “tremendous” journalists and a valuable brand. “That’s why we put such a premium on it and why I spent the better part of the last three months enduring criticism normally levelled at a genocidal tyrant.”

I dunno. Maybe because Faux Noise has become the WH’s own personal news network and all Faux does is act like a cheerleader for the ongoing bloodshed in Iraq?
Or maybe it’s for the same reasons the righty-hate blogs won’t lay off of Al Gore?
Either of those seem like a good fit for ya?
Or it could be because Faux actually went to court to get the right to put out false news. Any ideas on your part why Faux wants to be taken seriously as a “news outlet” when they make up theri own facts?

The new york times wall street journal not to mention all the major news medias are all scrambling trying to figure out how to stop us, But it’s an impossiblity. August 9th, 2007 at 3:06 pmThe Wall Street Journal had a lousy right-wing propoganda opinion page anyway. If he right-wing-spins the financial news anymore than it already is and it hurts people’s livelihood in the investment arena (lies leading to bad investment practices), the paper will fail.
Even though I dislike Murdoch for trying to pass Fox News off as unbiased news, I am trying to see how the Wall Street Journal could get any more right-wing than it was. Don’t get me wrong, I think him owning it and all the other news properties he owns SHOULD be against some form of owner regulations similar to before the 90s deregulation occurred, but I’m just trying to figure out how it’s going to get much more right-wing than it already is. He might be able to expand readership via Fox News, but what poor misguided middle roader is really going to drink any more kool-aid than he/she already is due to this?

With the lies the NY Post and Faux News routinely generate to support their failed ideology, one would think he would be able to take legitimate criticism based in reality.
