Bush set to beat Reagan’s vacation record.

Yesterday, President Bush took off for his vacation home in Crawford, TX, where he has already “spent all or part of 418 days of his presidency.” With 17 months left in office, Bush is on course to beat “the presidential vacation-time record holder,” the late Ronald Reagan, “who tallied 436 days in his two terms.” Bush’s vacation will mark the 65th time he has visited Crawford as President.

You complain about every decision he makes, but when he is on vacation (presumably not making decisions) you also complain about that. Would you prefer him to be in the oval office formulating more conservative policy?

Got a point Paul, but if he were held to the two-weeks a year credo of working America, he would have never run the second time, and this would already be over.

paul, you may be happy with a leader who can’t lead and then takes more vacation then 99% of the american public. I’m going to question the work ethic of the president.

I would rather he wasn’t in the oval office ever again. It’s going to take quite awhile to get the stench out.

Conservative policy? What part of the bigger, intrusive govt and the fiscally irresponsible actions is a conservative policy?

That’s the problem with Republicans, They’ll ride the horse they rode in on even after they find out it’s not a horse at all but weasel. All the while pointing out at others. But not looking down at the weasel.

Bush isn’t conservative, he isn’t honorable, he hasn’t brought back integrity to the White House. He hasn’t hunted down OBL, he hasn’t laid out a plan to pay for the conflict in Iraq. But he takes more vacations than 99% of the american public.

You stand by an idiot and quite frankly, we can’t decide which is worse. The fool, or the one that follows him.

  18. The Smiths Go To Washington says:

Make no mistake. They are the most dangerous when Bush is on VACATION.

Patriots keep an eye on Cheney.

They have been in full coverup mode since 2001,
July 2001… CHENEY Energy Task force, Enron..

    And speaking of NEW JERSEY…
Democratic Representative Rush Holt (NJ-12) has been stonewalled in his efforts to get answers from the DOJ and the FBI about the status of investigations into the 2001 anthrax attacks on the federal government. The anthrax letters originated from his district.
    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/4/26/17724/7643

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to “connect the dots”.

The Anthrax letters came from inside the United States.
The letters contained a specific type of weaponized Anthrax made by a United States military lab

Right after 911 the Bush Administration tried to ram the USA PATRIOT Act through Congress.

    And who got the letters…
Senators Tom Daschle (D-South Dakota) and Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont)
The two people who were in a position to hold up the disingenuously named “Patriot Act”.

Find out who is blocking the Anthrax Investigation
and you find out the truth to save our Country..

Certainly if our Founding Fathers were here today..
The Patriots would have had them and all the traitors in jail or hanged BY NOW.

Get this story in the MAIN STREAM when Congress comes back in session
And STOP letting criminals and their treasonous media set ALL the talking points.

We are not the United States of Criminals and Coverup
We are the United States of America.

When you compare it to a citizen , who let’s say maybe gets at the VERY most 28 days a year vacation (4 weeks?) (myself, I don’t think I’ll EVER get an entire month off at 1 time) that amount equals 224 days off in 8 years. This means they’re both close at working for 10 months and taking 2 months off.

Tell me please what kind of citizen could get a deal like that in their wildest dreams. I’m all for taking time off to see your family and shit, but they shouldn’t get THAT much more than the average citizen. When stuff like that happens, it’s called being a king.

Bush always works diligently to defend the nation against terrorists while on vacation. He never stops working, reading, studying foreign policy, and is constantly briefed all day long on everything that is happening in this country.

He doesn’t even cut down that much brush, because he’s just too busy being the best president this nation has ever had.

  50. Angry One says:

This week, two of the least trusted men in America extended their dubious records of accomplishment. Wednesday night in San Francisco, the steroids-scandal tainted Barry Bonds added to his record home run total by swatting his 757th round-tripper. And Thursday morning in Washington, George W. Bush held a rare press conference before commencing his annual August vacation, a recess which will pad his dismal presidential record for most days off.

You forgot weekends. That raises the total to 255 Days/Year. That lowers the total to 3 months 3 weeks. The recesses are not all holidays: they still meet with their electorate, opinion must be fed back to the Representatives and Senators for them to do their jobs. I doubt that W lets ordinary citizens onto his Crawford “ranch” while he clears the brush pre-planted by Halliburton and Blackwater. He gave Cindy the cold shoulder, the rest of the public as well.
