In a new survey of media users and their attitudes by Pew Research, Fox News viewers “stand out among the TV news audience for their negative evaluations of news organizations’ practices“:
Fully 63% of Americans who count Fox as their main news source say news stories are often inaccurate — a view held by fewer than half of those who cite CNN (46%) or network news (41%) as their main source.
Similarly, Fox viewers are far more likely to say the press is too critical of America (52% vs. 36% of CNN viewers and 29% of network news viewers). And the Fox News Channel audience gives starkly lower ratings to network news programs and national newspapers such as the New York Times and Washington Post…
For example, fully 71% of Fox News Republicans hold an unfavorable opinion of major national newspapers, compared with 52% of Republicans who use other sources, and 33% of those who are not Republicans.
Given the recent New Republic “story” I can’t imagine why.

No, tax increases help pay for our crumbling infrastructure – thats bridges and steam pipes – if you hadn’t been paying attention to recent events. You only spout untruths. As long as i have read your posts (ringos also) it always is factfree. You check in with Limbaugh and Coulter for your daily script and off you go wasting everybody’s time. Maybe if your worship for Bush weren’t so strong, you could realize spending 1/2 trillion dollars on a vanity invasion does not help fix the immediate problems in this country.

Yet the economic recovery that followed the latest tax cut was one of the worst on history – while the period after tax increases under Clinton was one of the biggest economic boom-times.
Facts have a liberal bias – and so does the reality you refuse to live in!
If your tax rate is 90%, then a tax decrease can help the economy. When it’s so low that most american companies don’t even pay taxes because of loopholes – then you’re wrong, wrong, wrong.
That kind of contextual argument doesn’t do well in the world of fox lies, and soundbite hatefests like yours though. Loser.
August 10th, 2007 at 6:02 pmAll this proves is that their daily brainwashing is working. Those 28% of Americans that support Bush and watch Faux Noise need authority figures in their life to tell them what to think and what to do. They are really like little autotrons marching blindly behind their leaders off a cliff. If they weren’t so disgusting I might feel sorry for them.

A poll commissioned by the left? Never. I could care less as to what percentage New York Times.com browsers, for example, think of the president. It’s proven at this point that that paper’s reputation is in the crapper, and that they have no credibility remaining to even commission a “public” poll.
August 10th, 2007 at 6:07 pm“Though some news organizations suck more than others.”
The only news source that I think do a consistently good job are The Nation Magazine and the McClatchy newspapers. The rest are just a bunch of corporate whores. It is going to be very interesting to see what happens when the balance of power shifts to the Democrats. I predict that the MSM takes a left turn since they need to follow the money and the money will be going in the direction of the Democrats.

FoxNoise viewers are generally have low self-esteem and suffer from paranoid delusions. They think everyone is out to get them so they are prime targets for the sensationalism that FoxNoise churns out 24/7.
They are (deservedly) lonely, unhappy and angry little people. Their negative view of all media other than their beloved FoxNoise gives them a feeling of superiority and “specialness”. They also have a ready-made family of other brain-dead morons that gives them a feeling of belonging and acceptance.
Murdoch figured this psychology out long ago and has effectively marketed his NannyNews to these poor demented people while passing it off as journalism.

Man living in car since ‘00 upsets city
August 9, 2007
PITTSBURG, Kan. –Steve Graham might not be in the doghouse over a dispute with his wife, but as far as his neighbors are concerned, he’s not far from it. For the past seven years, Graham, 55, has been living in his car parked in the backyard of a house he and his wife, La Donna Graham, own.
“Every day he’s out there. He never goes into the house,” Kenny Waring said. “He sleeps out there, he eats out there, he watches TV, he plays guitar. … Everything that you do in your house, he does out there.”
Graham acknowledged that he watches TV, listens to music and sometimes sleeps in his blue, 1989 Buick Century. The car is parked on a concrete slab, mostly covered by a large, blue tarp that is secured with bricks and cinder blocks.
“I get better reception there than I do in there,” he said, pointing at the house. “I listen to Rush (Limbaugh) every day, just about.”
The neighbors say one of their biggest complaints is that Graham may be using his yard for a toilet.
Sanders said when her son-in-law was back from Iraq in mid-June, Graham began to burn trash and other debris across the alley.
“I walked out there, and (the smell) was terrible,” she said. “Then Ronnie came out the back door and said, ‘It smells just like back in Baghdad.’ He said he’d been on detail where they have to burn excrement and said that was exactly what it smells like.”

August 10th, 2007 at 6:56 pmWhat’s scary is that Fox panders to these people…it’s like any other business…they found an “unserved” niche (people who refuse the truth) and they cater to these crazies.
August 10th, 2007 at 7:02 pmAmericans Smart and Good
Liberals like to say that Americans are bad and dumb, but I’ve always asserted that liberals are bad and dumb and Americans are smart and good. In support of my view, here’s a survey of Americans on their views of the press, and most Americans don’t trust the press at all (because Americans are smart and good). 56% don’t trust the press when it comes to the war. The only ones who are bad and dumb are Democrats and liberals who are completely naive and credulous when it comes to the press. Only 39% of them know the press is politically biased and 56% of them trust everything the newspapers tell them about the war. No wonder they’re so bad and dumb, nodding their monkey heads in stupid agreement as they watch the network news. They probably thought Dan Rather was smart and knew what he was talking about; that is very sad. Wake up, stupid liberals! You’re getting bad information! All Americans know this; you should try being like Americans yourselves! Then you’d be smart and good.
August 10th, 2007 at 7:17 pmIn other breaking news, the sun will be rising from the east tomorrow.
August 10th, 2007 at 7:21 pmJudith Miller wrote all the lies the 28%ers believed that got us into Iraq. The Washington Post is basically a war drum beating, Iraq agreeing mess. Liberals REALLY don’t trust CNN, CBS, and especially Mickey Mouse Network because of, for example the preponderance of Edwards hair stories. Faux went to court and won so that they can lie about news. it’s why I come here for news.

August 10th, 2007 at 9:04 pmPeople should be skeptical of the liberal media. Especially when it comes to the hoax of “global warming.”
Scandal erupts over NOAA Climate data.
Have you been suckered by the global warming crowd?
August 10th, 2007 at 9:15 pmOf course Fox viewers hate newspapers, they require reading. A skill not readily practiced by your average Conservative.
August 10th, 2007 at 9:50 pmok, this is how intelligent most fox news viewers are: THEY DONT BELIEVE 63% OF THE NEWS ON FOX, BUT THEY WATCH IT ANYWAY! if they believe that 3/5 of their news is false, then why do they watch fox news? are they hoping that they’ll be able to randomly choose the 2/5 of the news that is accurate?
August 10th, 2007 at 10:38 pmFaux News is the “short bus” of news channels.
But you have to hand it to them, they convinced their viewers that the entire world is lying, except for them.
August 11th, 2007 at 2:24 amRemember, Faux Noise, as per a court ruling, is kinda’ allowed to lie. Heck, I could get better news from Naked News.com than anywhere else.

Comment by Snowball — August 10, 2007 @ 9:50 pm”
Since readership of traditional newspapers is falling across the board, I would guess that liberals aren’t reading them because they cannot afford them, then?
August 11th, 2007 at 7:49 amFox News has very successfully portrayed itself as an outsider, earning the trust of its viewers while projecting all of its own faults on its opponents.
I’m sure a Fox News viewer who says that “the mainstream media” is biased isn’t including Fox in that group. While at the same time, they might boast that Fox News has more viewers than any other single news channel. What other measure of mainstream could there be?
It’s kind of similar to the president, who lives in Washington and whose hats include politician-in-chief, saying that he’s not going to let “politicians in Washington” run the war.
I think it’s OK to admit that many journalists are liberal (I guess because I’m a liberal and I don’t see anything wrong with that!). But I don’t think news organizations have a liberal bias. All the major ones are owned by corporations, and they’re pretty much just interested in continuing to talk about whatever everyone’s talking about (e.g,. Anna Nicole Smith) to keep you watching for as long as possible. I don’t think they have meetings at NBC News, for instance, to decide how they can tear down the president today.
But that’s exactly what happens at Fox News. They decide how to present the news (or whatever it is they’re calling the news) to tear down democrats and build up republicans. They’re the only news organization with a documented political agenda.
August 11th, 2007 at 9:05 amUm, and let’s not forget to put this in some context and cite the study that revealed that Fox viewers are the most misinformed. So the fact that they are the most disatisfied and distrustful of other news reporting shouldn’t really surprise… because they can’t handle the truth and therefore refuse to believe it and therefore distrust the news reported from those sources.
August 11th, 2007 at 10:21 am#47 Fraaaaank, did you forget to take your meds again this morning?
August 11th, 2007 at 12:15 pmHow many more polls do we need to show that the Fox viewer is just above mental retardation. It is a case of the rich (the have) dragging the stupid (the have nots) in with propaganda.
If you poor, black, hispanic, native american, female, stupid or gay your republican vote is hypocritical of your own need, benefit and lifestyle.
Yet, Fox and Rush get you to do it. When you pull the lever to vote you are pulling the lever to your own hanging.
August 11th, 2007 at 12:37 pmHas anyone ever debated someone who watches Fox exclusively? Its fun but not very fair. I usually roll right over them with “the facts”. They really get confused when you start stating facts. And as a last resort they end the conversation by saying all politicians are crooked.
August 11th, 2007 at 2:55 pmWhat would they do if we had a real free press instead of a corporate press?
August 14th, 2007 at 6:26 pm
