Right-Wing Media Give Favorable Platform To ‘Another 9/11′ Columnist»

In his Thursday column, Philadelphia Daily News scribe Stu Bykofsky seemingly wished for the tragic death of 3000+ Americans when he wrote that “another 9/11 would help America.”

A host of right-wing media outlets provided Bykofsky a national platform yesterday that largely served to give credence to the columnist’s ghoulish suggestion.

Drudge gave the article a top row, center column link:

drudge911.jpg

Radio host Mike Gallagher, who claims to have “over 3.75 million weekly listeners” across the country, hosted Bykofsky (on the very same day that he scored an interview with Rudy Giuliani):

gallagher911columnist.jpg

Bykofsky’s biggest booster, however, was Fox News. Yesterday morning’s Fox and Friends did a segment on his column. Later in the afternoon, Bykofsky appeared on The Big Story, where host John Gibson agreed with and validated Bykofsky’s thesis. “I think it’s going to take a lot of dead people to wake America up,” said Gibson. Watch it:

The Bush administration used the events of 9/11 to launch an unnecessary war, curtail the rights of Americans, torture, illegally spy, and violate the Constitution. The right-wing can’t wait for “another 9/11″ so they can take it to the next level.

Now we know who the real America-haters are, and they are quite clear about it. Right-wing, conservative media are the true enemies of patiotic Americans, wishing wholesale death and destruction here at home so they can advance their Stalinist agendas. This is a real wake-up call for the patriotic left, the founders of this country, and true owners, to do all in our power to shut down the treasonous poison of those that wish harm on America just to prove the point that they are, in fact, Nazis. tey have just given up their right to tout the 1st Amendment, and if we don’t stop them, they will work with foreign terrorists to bring about the destruction of the country. Treason and sedition are alive and well on FOX noise, and it’s time to get serious about taking back our freedoms before these scumsuckers destroy it in the name of greed and power. They have exposed themselves clearly and willingly, and should now be considered targets.

BTW, how favorable has the outcome been for the alleged perpetrators of 911, and the Arab world in general?

Does it make sense for them to attack us again, from their point of view?

What will they gain? Other than the inevitable destruction of Iran, which will obviously be blamed for the attack, whether they are behind it or not. The same way that Iraq was blamed for an attack that was perpetrated by mostly Saudis.

NONE of it makes ANY sense whatsoever… if you listen to the “official” story.

Our country is going to be in serious trouble, very soon, but not for the reasons these whack jobs expound upon.

Get prepared folks… before it’s too late.

For years, the boast of the Bush Administration and its supporters was “There haven’t been any more terrorist attacks since 9-11 thanks to the Bush Administration.” It was their boast of success and competence

Given such a boast, one would think that the implication of another terrorist attack would be that we now had proof positive that the Bush Administration was a complete failure.

But in the crazy, illogical and irrational world of these nutsos, they NOW WELCOME another terrorist attack. And should such occur, they and their allies in the corporate media, will once again try to use it to their advantage by calling for more “Sieg Hiels” for the Chimp.

Shouldn’t you rail against the ideological extremes in Iraq, thumping their bibles and sporting their rags, who kill innocent women and children?

That’s right, I’m talking about your “innocent” and “beloved” Muslims. I’m sure a sane venting in response to the U.S. “invasion” is, strap bombs to your back and randomly blow up women and children.

I’m sure your response will be another crazy talking-point — i.e., our brave military forces are “turning them into meanie pantsies.”

“Wake up” and do what? Give the Führer unlimited powers?

  39. bilbobaggins Says:

“I think it’s going to take a lot of dead people to wake America up,” said Gibson. “

The only thing another 911 would wake Americans up to is the complete and utter failure of the Bush Administration.

Bush and his vanity war in Iraq is responsible for the creation of thousands of new al Quaeda types around the world who are furious with us for interfering in the middle east.

Bush has done nothing to increase the protections for this country. He has not implemented the 911 recommendations, he has not increased port security, and he HAS weakened us by taking our National Guard (you know, the people who are supposed to protect us here at home) out of our country and putting them into Iraq.

If Bush thinks another 911 is going to help him and his party, I think he is sadly mistaken. He has already failed to protect us once, another failure will be the end of Bush and the Republicans.

This is in no way an “unjustified war.” Put up some real evidence to support your talking-points, please. The U.S. went in to exterminate evil Sadaam and his minions, to rebuild Iraq into a functional democracy. Yet it seems that fellow Iraqis are looking to join in on the fight and further Sadaam’s legacy, looking for a fight when we’re looking to help them help themselves after the years of oppression and torture they’ve endured.

You just have to repeat the lousy, condemned Vietnam speak, don’t you? Hippies didn’t exactly go down in the history books as well regarded.

Funny, I don’t see you railing against our government why is killing innocent women and children on a daily basis. Why is it OK for our military to kill the innocent and it is not OK for the insurgents to kill innocent women and children. The fact of the matter is that it is NEVER OK to kill innocents. That’s why I applaud Obama for having the courage to say that for him as president, nuclear strikes are off the table.

  48. Scarecrow Says:

    Bilbo,

another failure will be blamed on the Democratic controlled Congress, for failing to give Bush even more authority to spy on U.S. citizens.

another failure will be used to point out the need for even more surveillance, even fewer civil liberties.

another failure will be used to reinstate the draft.

another failure will be the excuse needed to invade Iran.

another failure will mean hundreds of billions of dollars of profits to the War Industry.

and I would be willing to bet, after another “failure” Bush will haul out a “mastermind” from a black site and claim that he had knowledge of the attack, but we couldn’t get it from him because Bush was hamstrung by not being allowed to use “coercive interrogation techniques” on him.

another failure will result in a nation-wide “national emergency” and martial law, with the consolidation of legislative and judicial functions within the Executive Branch. The “national emergency” will last until the War on Terror is over. We will continually be asked to endure for another six months…and another…and another….

  76. funky p Says:

any support for this insanity? well there’s fox, right wing radio and, of course, the trolls here are loving it!

And that is the problem. This story is not controversial (what Bykofsky wrote) it is what the media has done to distort it. That’s the story.
Trolls need no encouragement in embracing a far right philosophy. They can take any story on any topic and divert it to the RWTP (right wing talking points); even, and maybe especially, when the topic has no relation whatsoever to their talking point.
Those should not be addressed. If you confront them, the trolls win, no matter how valid your point is, they are not listening. They are pushing your buttons, and, tempting as it is, maybe you should not let them.
Troll identification is fairly simple. If they whip out a totally off topic non sequitur, then it’s a troll. If they change the subject or ask you for proof (demand it) it’s a troll.
They should not be acknowledged (get their email address, give them yours, and argue amongst yourselves)

CT_V2 you are just as stupid as CT_V1. You are a moron, and a sheeple, go suck Bush’s a$$. You are the exact type of scum that this country needs to be killed in a terrorist attack.
I wish that all the conservatives would get in a small area and then the mushroom cloud of doom on you all.

  79. Toss these losers Says:

This looks like a calculated floating of a goulish idea. If the backlash isn’t loud and clear, the reichwing will see it as an opportunity and a false flag becomes more likely.

Martial law anyone? Elections canceled in the name of national security?

As was pointed out, it does kick the legs out from the excuse that Bush has kept us safe, but people will be scrambling and so terrified that will be lost in the kaos.

  80. Arthur C. Says:

In their fevered imaginations, the wingnuts seem to think that another domestic terror incident will in some way validate Bush’s failed anti-terror strategy? Why? On the contrary, it would highlight Bush’s failure to make Americans safer, and how Bush’s willfully ignorant, reflexively belligerent policy has increased terrorism instead of reducing it.

  81. TomR Says:

If anything, this proves that the right-wingers never had any intention of winning the war against terrorists and in fact need them to stoke their own fearmongering, cowardly bloodlust and line the pockets of fat cat defense contractors.

Absolutely abhorrent. Go away, you fearful people who lack the capacity to reason. You’ve done enough damage to our country. SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU!

Remember the old saying that if the economy is doing well, Republicans take credit and if it is doing poorly, the Dems get blamed? You know, like how the great economy during Clinton’s two terms were credited to the actions of Bush Sr. when he was in office (never mind that Dems had control of Congress during the same term, not to mention Reagan’s).

I believe the same thinking is going on here. No terrorist attacks mean Bush is doing a heck of a job. But should we get attacked again, the Dems will be front and center in the blame. Remember Bush and the other Repubs saying if Dems win a majority in Congress in 2006, it will be a victory for the terrorists. Remember that Repubs have been piling on the Dems for discussing & suggesting withdrawal options from Iraq, saying that it helps the enemy. They have their scapegoat.

An extension cord runs from the house to the car, providing power for a 13-inch TV that rests in the passenger seat, an oscillating fan and a radio.

“I get better reception there than I do in there,” he said, pointing at the house. “I listen to Rush (Limbaugh) every day just about.”

Did you see the excuse parade yesterday on that restoring the draft thread? It was hilariously reminiscent of the Blumenthal video of the College republicans. The contortions of logic for why they support the war but are themselves unable to serve. Priceless, and very telling.
The reason we will not answer the troll questions is because they are not questions that want a real answer. They are most often diversions from the topic at hand.

Why the new FISA bill is even worse than you think

By: Anonymous Liberal @ 11:01 AM - PDT

As you know, just prior to adjourning for its August recess, Congress caved in to Bush administration pressure and passed the Republican version of a bill amending the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). Sixteen Democratic senators and over 40 Democratic representatives voted in favor of the bill, ensuring a comfortable margin of victory in both houses. I’m not convinced that these Democrats fully appreciate what it is they’ve done.

I say that because the full implications of these amendments are not obvious from the four corners of the bill itself and it seems to have been intentionally structured (and sold to the public) in a way that obscures its true scope.

If they cannot get that, they are beyond rational thought. The constitution is about limiting what the government can do, not about limiting our freedoms.
