The confusion over 93 AGs and 50 states can be solved as follows. States have there own STATE GOV AGs. There are 51,DC has a GW poodle in there). There federal court system is devided into 93 districts, some by state, some as just a city, ets. Ex. Manhatten has a federal district court, as does Philly, New York has another in Albany, etc. Sometimes districts are added, jurisdiction can be altered, so all things are not constant. They are considered to serve only the president that appoints them, and may be reappointed to different districs, run for judgeships and AG appointments, etc. GW fired assistant ags(district ags) in respose to their record of pro republican activity, a federal felony and a violation of the hatch act. This is the crime most likely to spawn an impeach motion and vote, as we are really having impeachment hearings now. It is this blatant interference with the justice system that freaks out repugs, as they know whats next....93 liberal federal district AGs. The smell of smoke........makes me feel like.......victory.....NOW SURF

The arguments I see on this page show me how screwed up the USA has become. Everyone has taken up such an extreme position and is so willing to sling mud I’m wondering how long it will be until Americans are slinging bullets at Americans. Demoncrats and Repugnicans who are extremists are going to drive our country into a civil war. If that happens, Bush won’t be just a “war time president”, he’ll be the “civil war president” having caused not one but two civil wars.

For now I’m going to continue to practice at the rifle range and stock up on ammunition, food and water filters. If ya’ll succeed at starting a civil war I’ll be ready to defend my family and property from all of the crazies. If on the other hand you’d prefer a revolution that takes our country back from the corporations and gives it to the citizens, count me in.

Zooey,
I can't quite make up my mind whether or not you're being too harsh on weasels. The rest I can unequivocally agree with. But I hear that the WH will still try to claim "executive privilege" for private citizen Turdblossom.

John Conyers was the man who, as senior minority member of the House Judiciary Committee defied the Republicans and held unofficial hearings to establish the level of fraud and vote suppression committed by Blackwell and the Republicans in Ohio. He issued his own comprehensive report on the illegal activities that went on. Conyers, now in his mid-seventies, continues to stand up for the recovery of our democracy and do his job. He's one of my heroes.

Reading the above, I see extreme polarization, debate a-la spitwad contest. No more interest in learning from one's critics. It's all about who gets the power.

This is Rove's legacy.

Pity the Foolish Trolls and RemoveBush,
You mental midgets assume way too much. I never referenced 93 AGs in ANY of my posts, and you both ASSume that I was speaking of US Attorneys.
Comment by Libsaregoodfornothing — August 13, 2007 @ 5:11 pm

Hey, LAGFN/liberalsdestroyedamerica/IHeartAlito/Ihateliberals/
neoconsfartterrorists, etc. ,
If you never referred to 93 AGs in any of your posts, what did you mean by
"BJ Clinton himself fired 90-something AGs in his 2nd term" (Comment by Libsaregoodfornothing — August 13, 2007 @ 4:06 pm)?
The number "90-something" applies to US Attorneys, because if, as you have written, that each state has its own AG, then there should be only 50 of such people. Or are you telling us that 43 new states have suddenly been added to the Union? BTW, Clinton did not fire any state Attorney Generals but 92 of the 93 US Attorneys at the beginning of his first--not his second--term.
No matter how you try to spin what you said (like a typical neoCON conman), you can't erase your first post at 4:06 pm, August 13. Maybe instead of thinking up yet another new moniker, you ought to devote a little more time to thinking about the contents of your posts and checking the facts. But, of course, facts don't mean much to a neoCON KoolAid addict, do they?

actually you guys are both right example in Minnesota Lori Swanson is the Minnesota Attorney General for our state and Rachel Paulose is the US Attorney for our state. The federal gov't ie Bush only has the authority to remove US Attorneys not state elected Attorney Generals. Clarified boys and girls

“You’re a dummy because you claim there’s only one AG. But, if you knew about civic structure, you’d know that every state has its own AG. That’s what we were talking about.
Comment by Libsaregoodfornothing?

Oh dear, you are being a silly boy again. The United States has an Attorney General (only one). The states each have a US Attorney. Now is that clear enough for you to understand.

I think that maybe you didn't get enough sleep last night little man. You aren't making a lot of sense here.

"You have no proof that Bush “selectively fired” only AGs who weren’t digging up “BS” charger of voter fraud in “vulnerable” districts."

Of course there is no proof you silly person. How can there be any proof when Bush refuses to turn over documents and says that no one can talk to the investigating committee because of Executive Privilege.

And, it was just a really big coincidence that all of the US Attorneys (Not AG's) who were fired were either investigating Republicans or refused to become involved in "voter fraud" cases where there was no proof.

You are a silly, silly person. But, you are entirely welcome to live in your dream world if it makes you feel better.

And, it was just a really big coincidence that all of the US Attorneys (Not AG’s) who were fired were either investigating Republicans or refused to become involved in “voter fraud” cases where there was no proof.

You are a silly, silly person.
John Conyers, needs to grow a set of cojones. He has been weak with Pelosi, Bush, and Cheney! I don't believe the Dem's I really don't. I am so disappointed with how Congress just rolled over and gave Bush the ability to legally spy on us, and furthermore allowed Gonzalez to be in charge. Finally slipping into the bill, protecting the phone company's from being sued from violating the law. Don't you love it. No, I rather doubt John Conyers will do anything other then spin hot air in front of the reporters.

"You’re a dummy because you claim there’s only one AG. But, if you knew about civic structure, you’d know that every state has its own AG. That’s what we were talking about.

Oh..... Yeah.....

One more thing to SHOW YOUR IGNORANCE!!!!!

The ONLY AG that Bush has ANY control over is the US AG!!!!!

So obviously, when I stated ONLY ONE AG that is what I meant.....

But of course to an IGNORAMOUS like you, who is uneducated, you think Bush has control over ALL AG's even the State AG's.....

Keep posting..... PLEASE, as you just show how ignorant you are and just what the Republican base really represents.... I-D-I-O-T-S

HEY DICKWAD!!!!

YOU are the FIRST one to bring up the AG's when YOU meant the US Attorney's......

Now go stick your head back up Bush's ass.... he needs to know if those polups came back....

Oh.... And in the order it was discussed.....

1) "BJ Clinton himself fired 90-something AGs in his 2nd term, showing how legal that was. Conyers just insists on publicly shaming Rove; that’s why he wants a full hearing in front of the cameras.

Comment by Libsaregoodfornothing — August 13, 2007 @ 4:06 pm"

2) "It is best when a new president dismisses ALL ATTORNEYS at the beginning of the new term in office. The problem with Bush and Rove - numbnuts - is that Bush SELECTIVELY FIRED only the atorneys who were not digging up BS charges of voter fraud in PARTICULARLY VUNERABLE DISTRICTS.

3) "Tom,
You have no proof that Bush “selectively fired” only AGs who weren’t digging up “BS” charger of voter fraud in “vulnerable” districts. You just regurgitated talking points from what your brainwashers (Air America, Lib media) tell you. The REAL TRUTH is that Bush justly and legally fired some AGs for NOT going after Dem lawmakers more aggressively despite overwhelming evidence of wrongdoing on their part. Those AGs were obviously inept, so they had to be fired.

"and you both ASSume that I was speaking of US Attorneys. However, I specifically keep coming back to the point of US Attorneys because both of you morons keep falsifying that the US only has one AG. This ignorant lie is present in posts from both of you ignoramuses. That’s why I included the helpful link for TX AG Abbott’s website–to disprove your lunacy of claiming the US only has one AG.
