Gibson mocks Stewart’s emotional post-9/11 remarks.

On the August 10 edition of his radio show, Fox News host John Gibson mocked Daily Show host Jon Stewart, playing a clip of Stewart’s choked-up, heartfelt remarks just after 9/11 while he sarcastically mimicked them. After the clip finished, Gibson’s producer, “Angry Rich,” called Stewart a “phony.” Listen to the clip over at Media Matters.

Of course Fox is going to dis Stewart now. He had the balls to call Kristol to the carpet and show him to be the liar that he is.

Shame that our forth estate has turned to Comedy Central to do its job.

    Go Jon!!

  3. DRxJ says:

    John Gibson?
Who the F is John Gibson?

  4. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) says:

Well, of course! If you show emotion, like Clinton or Stewart did, you are a phony. Unless, you are also a conservative, like Boehner or Guliani, then you are sincere. IOKIYAR.

  5. MsJ says:

    IOKIYAR??? Wassat???

  6. MsJ says:

  7. E_I says:

Gbison is making fun of remarks made 6 years ago by Stewart? WTH?

  8. Master Shake says:

IOKIYAR = “Its ok if youre a republican”

…I knew that would never catch on LOL

  9. TerrytheTurtle says:

Hmm, Jon Stewart apparently scares John Gibson.

  10. hellinabucket says:

This is like gold to Stewart. The ignorant (exhibit A #8 post) can only see emotion if it’s on Fox.

Quantity doesn’t equate to quality. The number of people believing a certain way doesn’t make that way the truth.

Good Going for John Gibson–whose show, incidentally, is number one for its 5 PM EST timeslot, obviously because more Americans agree with him than with libtards. Comment by MayAllahSmiteLibs — August 14, 2007 @ 2:54 pm

The 2006 election says you should get off of that Unicorn you’re riding.

Gibson was right to apparently jeer at Stewart for his post-911 emotionalism because Stewart is an anti-American libtard who wasn’t sincere about his emotionalism, post-911. Comment by MayAllahSmiteLibs — August 14, 2007 @ 2:54 pm

Another illogical post of hate. You’re a a$$hole.

Stewart is the same libtard a$$hole who opposes war to target terrorists; wiretap phones to get terrorists; and basically do anything other than hate the US as a “response” to terrorism. Comment by MayAllahSmiteLibs — August 14, 2007 @ 2:54 pm

What do you do? Post lies, smear and project your hate on everyone else. No wonder you are siding with the terrorists, even in your alias. You know the terrorists hate us because we’re a ‘liberal’ country – they want people like you that share their values to turn us into a nation of religious fanatics. You are a tool of Allah extremists – I’m sure your mother is proud!

As such, Stewart’s emotionalism wasn’t heartfelt; instead, it was the liberal girlie-man’s reaction when your enemies hit you: start crying like the pussy you are. Comment by MayAllahSmiteLibs — August 14, 2007 @ 2:54 pm

    Projection.

We don’t listen to talk radio, so it’s no suprize he’s number one in this prestigioud 5pm time slot. Most of us are at work in office jobs.

Talk radio is for dummies who like their news “pre-chewed”.

  15. missmolly says:

Lemme get this straight — John Gibson is tilting at the Jon Stewart windmill? A political satire show? From SIX years ago? Gee — if he he really feels Jon is some kind of threat, maybe he could go after Jon’s recent stuff — like his interview with Bill Kristol.

Maybe John would like to look at political cartoons from six years ago. He could make a scathing editorial against some of those while he’s at full boil.

Wiretap phones to spy on everyone, you mean. Terrorists, americans, foreigners, people in other countries, political enemies, antiwar protesters, cheerleaders, Auntie Bessie down in Oklahoma.

But you don’t seem to care.

Please do not confuse higher ratings with “more Americans agreeing”. High ratings in this case mean that intelligent Americans have better things to do at 5:00 PM EST than watch television.

  23. Smitethis says:

    @Ringo # 20

Nope, the difference is that with a blog people can respond, add their opinions, or disagree. Talk radio is one-way propaganda that requires no thought. This site puts an item out and we discuss it.

  24. Robert says:

Then why are you here, Ringo? I never understand why Trolls snear at a site they perpetually troll at. Aren’t there some public restrooms in Florida you can be visiting instead?

You idiots and your freakin’ radio ratings. Here’s a clue, most liberals listen to music on the radio. Most liberals are unable to get Air America on their radios. Basically you have to have XM satellite radio to hear it decently. You people are such tools. /even Rove jumped ship but you’re still hanging on.

  26. murphdog says:

Leave it to Fox News and John Gibson to use character attacks. The bigger question in all of this is the point. He’s just filling his time slot with what he thinks is important. His oversimplification of progressives is all but played out in the MSM today. One of my closest friends is a Fox News Republican but that doesn’t deter us from getting along: he’s the best friend I have. The battle between progressives and conservatives tires me out.

One thing to keep in mind is that these little partisan snowballs shouldn’t matter; the real question is how long can irresponsible fiscal policies on both sides of the aisle keep America floating until it collapses. If and when that happens, people like John Gibson won’t matter.

Check this out what I’m referring to. Whoever gets elected next has their work cut out for them – healing partisan tensions and the divide in the country, repairing this country’s image abroad, and keeping America solvent. As far as I can tell, I’m looking forward to leaving to a safer and saner nation.

Sorry — I shouldn’t have said television, I should have said radio. You can tell I don’t keep up with this kind of broadcast blather.

    Typical Faux News whore.

And the conservative “fans”/”trolls”: assistant whores.

History will relegate you to the same dustbin containing the Nazi party members from 1939 Germany.

  30. Papa Montero says:

Commenter #8 is a crowning example of both Gibson and his target demographic:

Angry, ignorant bootlickers with erecticle dysfunction.

  31. Gerald Gibson says:

  33. RagingGurrl says:

Gibson is down on his knees, praying that Jon Stewart will pay attention to him. This latest attempt at getting Jon’s attention is pathetic. I think Gibson has a crush on Stewart.

I guess when you have nothing valuable to say you just rant and call names. Don’t you have a dog to kick somewhere? It must suck to carry all that irrational anger day in and day out.

  37. Loonie says:

Hey, MayAllahSmiteLibs, I’m curious. Is this actually just a clever attempt to elicit attention and a response, or do you actually pass such stagnant, viscous bile as “thought”?

  41. Godprotectmefromconservatards says:

    Um, Idiot, I mean “Mayallahsmitelibs”,

Gibson’s show isn’t even in the top 10 conservative radio talk shows.

Why is it you guys can’t say ANYTHING without getting your facts wrong?

  43. circusfifthfloor says:

That’s a tough time slot too. Up against Tweety Matthews and Flintstones re-runs. I’m sure many viewers are surfing about and see this hideous looking mutant on the Tele, and stop for a moment out of curiosity. Then, they linger for a moment, because they’re amazed that “IT” speaks. And then, they return to regular programming. Can there be no one in these staff meetings at Faux saying, “Are we really going with this”? No adults over there, nor viewers.

  44. River says:

Ah, omnipotent one. I see that you are able to read other people’s thoughts and emotions from afar, through a TV screen. How honored we are to receive your wisdom.

  46. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper says:

John Gibson is one of the biggest, phoniest a-holes on television. He’s a congenital liar and pretty stupid on top of that. He wouldn’t last a minute in a non-biased environment. He gets a free pass because he parrots Rupert Murdoch’s absurd politics. And, attacking someone for their emotional reaction to people attacking their home town is as low as a low-down dirty rat can get. Gibson has no soul, no humor, no intelligence and he’s ugly as a horse’s ass can get. On his best day, he couldn’t pull a tenth of the women Stewart used to get without even trying. Everyone in New York knows it. Stewart is a legend and Gibson is just a tired old jealous whore. (my apologies to whores)

  50. rfklives! says:

Keith O took on Gibson for this last night-second that emotion!! Rather than hoping for San Francisco to be hit to justify the blood lust and running sorry imitations of Stewart that fail as they should-perhaps the kool-aid sippers at faux should not snear and belittle real emotions any and every american felt after 9-11. The neo-con dream was built on bs and now it is falling apart-good riddance.

  51. Probus says:

When we were attacked on 9-11 we were all Americans. We all felt the same grief. The terrorists didn’t distinguish between republicans and democrats. It is shameful to mock someone’s genuine grief just because you disagree with their political views. Republicans like Gibson lose their humanity every time they attack someone like this. It was a heartless thing to do.
