Markos on Rove’s pre-war Iraq legacy.

Markos on Rove’s pre-war Iraq legacy.

Last night on the Charlie Rose show, DailyKos found Markos Moulitsas Zuniga discussed Karl Rove’s role in leading up the Iraq war. “I think he saw this is a great way to win some elections, let’s go with it,” Markos said. “He definitely was a chief architect in selling the war. I don’t know if he thought it was the best idea. … I just think he saw it as a great political tool to use to defeat Democrats.” Watch it:

Rove is an accomplice in the Bush Regime war crimes in Iraq. Therefore he can be prosecuted by the world court at the Hague.

  5. Vet says:

It’s very ironic how many WAR VETERANS, like myself, on this site are anti-war (when the war is based on lies), and how many supporters of the war are chicken hawks who never served in anything beyond the Boy Scouts.

Here’s my new idea: if you’re not a veteran, your pro-war opinions don’t count for SH*T!!!

Kut and run Karl. Bush let Karl bug out but is making our soldiers stay. Bush couldn’t lead an ant to sugar. Bush has failed our troops and is allowing one of the chief architects to cut and run while our military is stranded.

Ignorant pigs follow Bush but the rats are running away.

Wake up and call for Bush’s resignation!

  13. raynman says:

Karl Rove was the consummate political operative. To him, there was no other goal except political victory. It did not matter to him what the cost was in the ‘real’ world, as long as in the political arena, he (or his ‘champion’) came out victorious.

  14. hellinabucket says:

Bush is not holding himself and his administration accountable for this disaster in Iraq. But Bush and Rove ran on a platform of accountability. Bush is a liar and like pigs to swine the ignorant still eat up his slop.

Wait on Rove pension. He still has more to do for this Administration, like go deep into an undisclosed location in order to lead a flalse flag thrust which will result in more war – nuke Iran, for example.

Already I feel great sadness for all the thousands of sailors who will perish when “Iran” takes out one of our carriers.

  17. PeterW says:

#15 – The downside of the “bar no holds” approach is that it only works for so long before the backlash. Rove and his imitators have fouled the Republican nest badly. All that’s left are paranoid sexually damaged dead-enders, desperately trying to prove their manliness by their vehemence of their advocacy of the torture, humiliation, and killing of others.

I hate to say it, but yeah, we do need someone who is a better public speaker. He has a great blog, but that does not mean he belongs in front of the camera. Look, when the Repugs/NeoCons say Libs/Dems are weak on security, then they show a Lib/Dem who acts effeminate, how do you think most Americans are gonna react? I’m not trying to offend, I’m just trying to think like the other side. I wouldn’t want Markos to be anything, or anyone but himself, but I’m not sure he is the right one to speak for our side right now.
Remember, this is America, most of the time, it’s not what you say, but how you say it. I know it’s sad…look, I like Kucinich, but I’m afraid of how the people of this country perceive him…no matter how right he is, all people can do is say, “he’s short”, “he’s meek” , “he has big ears”…
This is our country and this is what we have to work with. Unfortunately, we have to play by their rules now or we’ll get beat again.

Kos a traitor? limpwristed? Because he did not swallow? At least the garbage that a few Religious reichist, neocon morons tend to spew, and for that I am grateful.

This administration politicized every single issue in government. Every one. From the EPA, to the DOJ, from the DOD to Agriculture, from the CIA to FEMA, from Homeland scrutiny to social security, from immigration to faith based initiatives. OF COURSE Rove treated IraqNam as a political opportunity, no different from every other decision he had a finger in.

To attack the message and messenger is typical of your standard, uneducated, unread, christian, auto-lobotomized right winger that supports the military by buying stickers for his SUV and enjoying the fact that minorities populate the military instead of him, or his family. They are amusing, in that you begin to wonder how they manage to make it through any day without soiling their pants (Zippers constitute pretty complex technology they have problems mastering) or causing a fatal accident.

If your not willing to die for your country, and you want to support the war, then YOU should be forced to visit the hospitals where the soldiers are laying in bed, and you should be forced to attend every local funeral.

    That is really a falsehood……

    http://www.leanleft.com/archives/2004/02/13/2323/

“According to Peter Feaver, a Duke University political scientist, veterans constitute 19 percent of the American public. A 4-year-old study by Feaver concluded that 37 percent of them were Republicans, 31 percent were Democrats and the rest were divided among independents, minor parties and political nonparticipants.

In the 2000 election, veterans leaned solidly Republican, unhappy with President Bill Clinton’s sex scandal and his handling of foreign affairs. Now, however, “that appeal has receded a little bit,” Feaver said. “Veterans are not as prone to be Republicans as four years ago.””

  46. Hillary is a Communist says:

KOS is a Nazi. He should be holding Hillary and company to task for letting Rove ever defeat them over the war. But conspiracy theories are such a better sell in the ignorant, left-wing blog community.

One thing Rove said is spot on – Hillary is a fatally flawed candidate. AND after the fawning and gushing by the MSM, the right-wing will go for the throat, exploit the war (again) and win the 2008 election.

  47. hellinabucket says:

What should be the merc/soldier ratio? Why should we be paying private companies when we should be fighting the war of our generation (according to Bush).

    -

as for Ringo, low IQs are not something to be proud of in the game of Life, try as you might. The same goes for a total lack of knowledge.

Currently, there are more US mercenaries fighting in IraqNam than US soldiers. The problem is that they are out of control, not led by civilian DOD or military leaders. They kill indecriminently, they rape, they attack innocent Iraqis and they appear to be involved in the loss of billions of dollars in US currency and worse.
Blackwater is an evil institution, supported by Rummie and Bush. My real fear is that they are using IraqNam as a practice, training ground. For more domestic locations.

Markos is the idiot who wished death for Pat Tillman and all his mercenary buddies
    –Comment by Bob

    No he’s not.

He’s the guy who actually served in the military and found it repulsive that private mercenaries … who get paid six figures … who have to answer to no one … who have been responsible for rapes and murders … who have stolen millions from American taxpayers … and who have no concern about anything other than killing for money … were held up as “heroes” when they were killed.

    They’re not heroes.

The heroes are the families who find a way to make it through never-ending deployments that are continually extended … the ones who only earn $20K a year for serving their country … who have been used as props by Bush and Co. for the past five years … whose pay increases were opposed by Bush and the GOP … whose funerals Bush doesn’t bother to attend …

    THOSE are the heroes.

It’s not too surprising that wingnuts like you are too stupid to understand that fact.

    .

    Comment by hellinabucket

Because reality never gets in the way of their stupidity.

It’s the same reason they think criticism of Bush = criticism of America.

It’s the same reason they think Islamic radicalism is evil, but their own Christian radicalism is great.

It’s the same reason they ignore every single fact that shows Iraq is a complete mess, and latch on to a comment by a guy like Bill Kristol (who never served and has never talked to your average Iraqi citizen) that says everything is just peachy.

It’s the same reason they keep wanting to “give it six months” even though they made the same “give it six months” plea 18 months ago.

For them, what’s good for the party is much, much more important than doing what is good for the country.

“If you’re not a congressman, your opinions regarding our system of laws don’t count for SH*T!!!”

See how flawed this “if you aren’t or have never been in the military, your opinions regarding the war don’t count” argument is?

I have not served and I will not serve, but my arguments for or against the war are still as good as yours.

Only if you base your arguments on fact Bob. Otherwise it’s just an opinion that holds nothing more than your emotions.

“I think [ROVE] saw [THE "WAR" IN IRAQ] as a great way to win some elections, let’s go with it,”
Markos said. “He definitely was a chief architect in selling the war…”

THANK YOU! ROVE’S ROLE WAS IN THE TIMING OF THE IRAQ-INVASION…

    1) THE “RESOLUTION,” REMEMBER MAX CLELAND; SLANDERED… AMERICAN HERO! –2002 MIDTERMS–

    2) THE “MISSION,” STAYIN’-THE-COURSE, ET. AL., CALLED JOHN KERRY “FLIP-FLOPPER…” –2004 ELECTIONS–

THE “WAR,” OR PERMANENT-OCCUPATION OF IRAQ WAS DICK CHENEY & THE NEOCONS WET-DREAM, BUSH WAS UP-FOR-IT, BUT,

THE WHOLE IRAQ WAR WAS POLITICALLY-TIMED BY KARL ROVE — TO WIN ELECTIONS!

All I can say is good riddance to this dark “architect”, may justice come to call for you swiftly.

    “That is really a falsehood……

OK, Ringo states that the military votes more Republican than Democratic, and you say that is a falsehood. Then you go on to quote studies which support Ringo’s statement.

No wonder they call you the “kook fringe”. When the statistics don’t support your arguments, you just pretend that they do.
