Pundits fail to mention Rudy’s 9/11 worker gaffe.

Last week, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani angered 9/11 rescue workers when he claimed he “was at ground zero as often, if not more, than most of the workers.” Though the insensitive and revealing comments garnered traditional news coverage, political pundits overwhelmingly ignored Rudy’s gaffe, according to a media analysis by Greg Sargent and Benjy Sarlin at The Horse’s Mouth.

Rudy is the golden boy for the GOP nomination. Pretty funny when you think about it. Mistresses, mob ties, corruption, ineffectual leadership. I guess he wants to cover more bases then Clinton.

  2. ronjazz says:

I hope he gets the nomination. He’s a puchover. So to speak.

  3. WaltTheMan says:

Rudy carries more baggage than a bellhop at a magicians’ convention. A ticket led by Giuliani would be a Deomocratic dream.

  4. Nachos of Justice says:

Rudy was a great, revitalizing Mayor for New York, and he’d be a great, revitalizing President for the U.S. despite a few personal nicks and cuts.

  5. bilbobaggins says:

Well, what do you expect. Do you really expect them to be honest about their candidates? Sheesh….you need to get out more.

If you think that Rudy was a great, revitalizing Mayor for New York, I advise you to talk to people who live in New York and see what they say.

This reminds me of when Regan was running for President. He was touted as the great former governor of California. Problem was, everyone in California hated him and thought that he did the state much more harm than good.

Unfortunately there are enough sheeple out there who can be convinced of anything as long as there is enough money behind it and it has been said enough times for the lie to somehow become the truth.

  6. VerbalKint says:

Rudy won’t even make it to triple digits in electoral votes. The Republican fantasy of the Giuliani candidacy shows just how far down the rabbit hole they’ve gone. Hilarious.

  7. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper says:

Calling all conservatives: why would the “liberal media” gloss over Rudy’s gaffes? Why would the “liberal media” ignore Romney’s equating his sons working for his campaign with other peoples’ sons going to Iraq? Why does the “liberal media” pound away on Edwards’ troubling haircut and Hillary’s troubling cleavage while ignoring gaffes by republicans?

We await your reasoned explanations on why “liberal media” would ignore republican gaffes while pounding on democratic non-issues as if they are symbols of bad character.

  8. bilbobaggins says:

Good question Col. Ripper. But, don’t expect an answer from any of the trolls on this site. I don’t believe there is even one who is capable of independent critical thinking. It’s like they all have chips implanted in their brains that constantly feed them talking points from the RNC, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Lielly, Mann Coulter, etc. It must be really weird not having control over your thought processes.

That would explain why they still live in mom’s basement and depend on her to wake them up and tell them what time to take the daily dump on the blogs?

  10. WaltTheMan says:

It seems that Rudy sets a new standard for lack of family values. He has gone through three wives, the last being a mistress while he was married to the second. As an example of his humility, he announced his intention to divorce #2 during a news conference, not having informed her beforehand. I have had but one wife and I still love her. She has her faults, but, then, so do I.

  11. Marie says:

Rudy is the golden boy of the media right now. He can do no wrong.
Hilliary is the favored candidate of the media now too.
The msm is losing viewers and readers of their newspapers are diminishing, so what better to perk up Nielsen ratings and subscriptions but a good cat and dog fight?
The msm/punditry are no better than vulchers, except instead of waiting for carrion, they actually set up the scene.

  12. OxyCon says:

That’s because only Libruls can be serial exaggerators (according to the “Librul” media).

  13. Zooey says:

    Rudy Giuliani 2008!

    Oh please, please, please……..

    :-D

  14. UpFromTheSkies says:

Rudy Giuliani is one of the great dramatic actors of our era. His ability to point and shout orders at people at ground zero who were off camera and not even there was amazing acting on his part. He should receive a major dramatic award.

  15. Probus says:

Guiliani’s comments were ignored because they were embarrassing to the republican pundits on TV. It was the worst kind of political blunder. Try to pass yourself as a hero at the expense of the real heroes of 9-11. Use a tragedy like 9-11 to make yourself look good. It backfired big time.

  16. kathyo says:

Yes but they made the evening news.
