Yesterday, Media Matters noted that Fox News host John Gibson had rudely mocked Daily Show host Jon Stewart’s emotional post-9/11 comments on his radio show. Later in the day, Gibson addressed Media Matters’ criticism, saying “the war on Gibson is real. It is pursued every day.” While Gibson did admit it was “mean” to mock Stewart, he and his producer “Angry Rich” proceeded to personally attack Media Matters CEO David Brock.
Is it a Global War on Gibson? (GWOG)
Has there been an AUF?
August 15th, 2007 at 5:05 pmA note on winger psychology: Wingnuts tend to get "meanness" confused with "toughness." They think if they're being mean, or saying mean things, this makes them tough.
That's why righties have such mean mouths. They think they're being tough guys.

gibson: "you are mean! you are persecuting meeeee!!"
Gee -- I never heard of John Gibson until this Gibson/Stewart situation. Maybe Gibson is hoping for some kind of war because he needs the publicity?
August 15th, 2007 at 5:13 pmThe war "is pursued everyday by the people who just can't abide by what you hear on this radio program."
Now children...
August 15th, 2007 at 5:13 pmplease, abide by what I say.
Leftarded progressives (code for anti-Americans) really have no use for intellectual honesty if they dare deny that there's a war going on against John Gibson. Why, this site alone posts many news stories about Gibson, confirming the fact that he's in the crosshairs of many of these librul sites and schools of thought. The more important question to ask is why is Gibson on the receiving end of a war from radical, internet leftards such as TP and Media Matters?? Flagrantly, it's because Gibson--like most conservatives--is so diligently effective in skewering libtards and exposing their endless failures, inconsistencies, double speak, and outright anti-Americanism. Since progressives are so impotent in rebutting Gibson--evidenced by their name-calling and changing of the subject--they can only get angry like little children.
August 15th, 2007 at 5:13 pm#4... can't we break just one guitar--the one I'd like to bust over this clown's head? I'll use a Fender, I swear...

August 15th, 2007 at 5:15 pmHey, we have to fight them there (in lalaland) so we don't have to fight them here.
August 15th, 2007 at 5:15 pmThis flippant use of the word "War" is pathetic. War is not to be waged against a single person. A spat, a tiff, an argument, a loathing for the very existence of Gibson can accurately be used but a War on one guy?
Delusions of Grandeur

Hmm really double speak like being for family values but having been divorced twice and your own daughter won't speak to you or saying you are pro-life while taking lobbying money from pro choice organizations that type of hyprocrisy or having 5 sons now of which are in the military or having an entire field of candidates not one of which is serving in this "honorable" war that type of double speak.
August 15th, 2007 at 5:20 pm‘the war on Gibson is real.’ - - Don't flatter yourself, John. But watch out just in case a newspaper tries to assassinate you, like they're trying to do to Se. Stevens.

August 15th, 2007 at 5:22 pmwar on this war on that. How about a war on war?
August 15th, 2007 at 5:22 pmI don't think that a guy with flesh colored hair should be mocking anyone.
Seriously, can you tell where his forehead ends and his hair begins?
August 15th, 2007 at 5:25 pmit’s because Gibson–like most conservatives–is so diligently effective in skewering libtards and exposing their endless failures, inconsistencies, double speak, and outright anti-Americanism.
What universe do you live in? Are you suggesting that Bush's administration has been a complete success?
I'll be waiting for your examples of of Bush's accomplishments.....
August 15th, 2007 at 5:25 pmThis guy Gibson always talks about a war on something or war on somebody...
August 15th, 2007 at 5:25 pmremember, the War on Christams he wrote a book about...
Everytime he talks about a war,the test shows it does not exist...just like his war of Christmas..
But he sold a good number of books to the dummies who believed his story about Christmas.
#4… can’t we break just one guitar–the one I’d like to bust over this clown’s head? I’ll use a Fender, I swear…

Sure, here, use a bass, it's heavier, and the strings are tougher.
August 15th, 2007 at 5:25 pmGibson is funny. He reminds me off all the Pointdexter types I remember in middle school who had no friends and never had a date to the dance.
August 15th, 2007 at 5:26 pmWar on Gibson????
Sorry a complete war would be a waste, John.
Let's just set a "Piss on Gibson" national holiday, so everyone can take the whole day to express their opinion of one of silliest Fox Snewz hacks ever ( behind O'Liely, of course).
August 15th, 2007 at 5:26 pmOK you neocons can stop lying that progressives are wimpy anti-war types since you've accused us of waging a war against Christmas, a war against Easter, and a war against Gibson. And by all things holy we aren't going to stop until we bring democracy to the United States, the American Taliban is on the run, the television terrorists are axed, and our country is safe from internal threats. Freedom is on the march.

August 15th, 2007 at 5:39 pm"But he sold a good number of books to the dummies who believed his story about Christmas."
Actually, he sold a good number of books to right wing organizations. That's how the right inflates the sales numbers of its favorite authors. They buy pallets of books, thereby jacking up their sales numbers. Then they try to sell them and when they can't sell them, they give them away and then when they can't even give them away they have them shredded. Bookstores send unsold books back to the distributors, which changes the sales figures for the author. The right wing organizations don't return the books so they can keep the sales figures inflated.
I know this is a fact because I once worked for a book publisher. I talked to a rep of a company that shreds books (to keep them from being resold at cheap prices). He told me that they shred pallets and pallets of books by conservative authors like Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly on a regular basis.

This is the best wingnuts can do to counter the Progressive blogs! Isn't it pitiful? They really think they can hire trolls to post on these sites and it will be the same as posting for nothing but passion. That's because they think money will buy anything and everything. Sad.

Bilbobaggins, that is interesting. Do the authors still get the money? Makes you wonder what they could have done with the money for printing all those books let alone the waste of energy to produce those books - before and after shredding.
August 15th, 2007 at 5:49 pmGibson admits that it was mean to attack Stewart because he knows it was a mean thing to do. On 9-11 we grieved as Americans not as democrats or republicans. Conservatives who have called for another 9-11 have forgotten how tragic and painful this event was. Any American who lived through that day will never forget it. Stewart's emotions were real and should be respected.

August 15th, 2007 at 6:31 pmSpecifically, Clinton wanted to attack the financial underpinnings of the al-Qaeda network by banning American companies and individuals from dealing with foreign banks and financial institutions that al-Qaeda was using for its money-laundering operations. Texas Senator Phil Gramm, chairman of the Banking Committee, gutted the portions of Clinton's bill dealing with this matter, calling them "totalitarian."
Bill Victimized America?? Bill was ahead of the curve, the (R)s wanted to play wag the dog and made the Americans Victims.

August 15th, 2007 at 6:33 pmObviously, the right wing talking point for the day (week, month, year) is to accuse any Progressive posting on a Progressive site (?) as being paid for doing so. That is so stupid that it is hard to even explain it to these trolls. Who in the world put that talking point out there?? They should be fired. It just makes no real sense, now does it? Do you even have a concept about what a blog is? That it is there to have an intelligent conversation with someone about something?? That the point is not to PAY someone to have an intelligent conversation with someone else. It promotes discourse (look it up, I will not post a 'link'). People LIKE to have intelligent discourse. They don't need to be PAID to do so.
Just because this is Karl Rove's bright idea to have paid trolls come here to disrupt (or provide fun and games to Progressives) this site, doesn't mean that ALL people who come here are PAID just because YOU are. If you're so ashamed of it that you have to accuse everyone else here of being paid just like you, why not go get a real job and some self-respect?
August 15th, 2007 at 6:35 pmDog: "His ex wife and all of his ex girlfriends all support him for president."
Yes, that must be one of his selling points. "Support Fred Thompson! His ex-girlfriends support him!" You can't say that about the frontrunner. Rudy's ex-wife and current children all hate him.
But, that should work well for you in the general election: the Democrat will say something like "I support universal healthcare." Fred will answer with "I don't, but my ex-girlfriends support me!"

August 15th, 2007 at 6:35 pmClinton could have signed an executive order for that. But he was too busy getting head from an overweight intern.
Comment by Dr. Dog
It was a Republican controlled congress.
AAOOAOAOOAOAOAOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Congress, Clinton was thwarted by the reactionary conservative majority in virtually every attempt he made to pass legislation that would attack al-Qaeda and terrorism. His 1996 omnibus terror bill, which included many of the anti-terror measures we now take for granted after September 11, was withered almost to the point of uselessness by attacks from the right; Senators Jesse Helms and Trent Lott were openly dismissive of the threats Clinton spoke of.
August 15th, 2007 at 6:36 pmDog: "Clinton could have signed an executive order for that. But he was too busy getting head from an overweight intern."
Right, and Clinton wanted to kill bin Laden but he was too busy being forced to answer questions from Repubs about that bj. You tell us, Dr. Which was more important for the country? Forcing Clinton to address his personal affair or helping him kill bin Laden?
August 15th, 2007 at 6:38 pmWhile Drudge was concerned about Bill:
Republican philanderer and hypocrite Newt Gingrich was cheating on his wife while denouncing President Bill Clinton's extramarital affair
AND

Dog: "And Fred will say he supports free market solutions to healthcare.
The American people don’t want Hillarycare, “Col.†"
Maybe it's time for you to review the polls, Dog. By 3 to 1, Americans are tired of "free market solutions to healthcare." 75% of Americans say they want government-mandated universal healthcare.
I just hope your eventual Repub nominee listens carefully to people like you.

So hopefully the TP admins will realize that you're just Mr. Pee, urinating all over this thread and figure out a way to ban your dumb ass permanently.

Dog, don't you ever get tired of playing the victim? And, were you the little snot who was always telling on people in school. Did you get beaten up very often? Didn't your Dad explain to you that nobody likes a snitch?

Boy, you sure seem to be greatly concerned about "meth". What's up with that?
August 15th, 2007 at 6:46 pmClinton turned down many opportunites to kill or capture OBL.
*yawn*
Roger Cressy, National Security Council senior director for counterterrorism in the period 1999-2001, responded to these allegations in an article for the Washington Times in 2003. "Mr. Clinton approved every request made of him by the CIA and the U.S. military involving using force against bin Laden and al-Qaeda,"

Earlier in this thread, you demanded links. You said "links, or admit you lied!"
Do you care to hold yourself to the same standard, or would that be asking to much of a victim like you?

August 15th, 2007 at 6:47 pmI've convinced my County Sherriff's Department that they need to start monitoring GOP events in the area for sex offenders.
It took a few meetings, but with the preponderance of hard evidence now available, they ultimately decided it was in the best interests of public safety to covertly photograph GOP event attendees, and record their license plate #'s, to help take dangerous sex predators off the streets. I can rest a little easier, as as parent, knowing someone is keeping an eye on those villains.

August 15th, 2007 at 6:48 pmClinton was 45 minutes late in his attempt to kill bin Laden with cruise missles on the same day that Repubs forced him to spend the entire morning in deposition answering questions about Lewinsky. I asked you before and now I'll ask again:
What was more important to the country: getting bin Laden, or getting the details of Clinton's sexual affair? Bonus question: what was more important to congressional republicans: fighting terrorism or removing an elected president from office?

August 15th, 2007 at 6:59 pmAt times Dr. Pee can sound pretty rational, and then out of nowhere, a hit of crack or meth and he's spinning around, ranting incoherent babble.
Go easy on that stuff Pee, or start watching "Intervention" late Friday nights.

Comment by crassus — August 15, 2007 @ 5:10 pm
He is a host of Fox news troll. You could at least read that at the top.
August 15th, 2007 at 7:13 pmWhen Osama Bin Laden declared war on America the Republican party responded promptly by declaring war in President Bill Clinton.
Then when Clinton attacked Osama Bin Laden the Republicans all jeered Bill Clinton for "wagging the dog".

August 15th, 2007 at 7:25 pmI think the War on John Gibson should be fought with guns and knives.
August 15th, 2007 at 7:26 pmHey, what happened to Dr. Dog? Did he slink away with his tail between his legs or what?
You know, I have been thinking about that "meth" thingy and it seems like he is rather obsessed with it. Maybe that would explain his frantically answering every post up here?
You know, Dr. Dog, you should be careful if you are using that stuff, I hear it causes brain dama..........oops. Sorry.

Dr. Dog ran away. People must keep their dogs leashed.
August 15th, 2007 at 7:34 pmGibson represents all that is reprehensible about the right wing. It is his brand of "humor" that typifies both the reason for the rise to dominance of the Republican Party and now its downfall.
The Republican majority was attained through opportunism, elitism, racism, and moralism. As people understand that they were used, they are rejecting this. The only people who remain loyal and support these principles are those who identify with one of the "isms."

August 15th, 2007 at 7:38 pmwhy would anyone want to declare war on mel gibson?

I favor spoons and toothpicks.
August 15th, 2007 at 9:11 pmYa know,I used to think winger pundits were pandering,fear-mongering populists.
Lately, though,I've actually started listening to some of them,Gibson included, and one fact about all of them is glaringly obvious.
They, and those who absorb this pathetic garbage and then spit it all out as fact, are retarded. There can be no other explanation for the shiat that spews forth from their blow-holes.There's not an adult of normal or better intelligence on this planet that could honestly believe this crap.

August 15th, 2007 at 9:46 pmIf one well-deserved but mild criticism is enough to make Gibson crawl into a fetal position and cry foul, I guess then it is no surprise that he has no problems supporting a war that others will fight so he can feel safe.
Gibson is such a passive-aggressive fool, a hypocrite, and a coward.
"War on Gibson"? How utterly pathetic.
August 15th, 2007 at 9:49 pmWho could possibly watch that washed out freak?
August 15th, 2007 at 9:59 pmGuns or knives, Gibson? Guns or knives?
August 15th, 2007 at 10:32 pmThe primary antagonist of the War on Gibson is Gibson. He discredits himself nearly every time he opens his mouth. If he is at war, he's been fragged. No combatant necessary. Or perhaps he shot himself to keep from being drafted. Anyone who holds this clown up as a sentinel of their beliefs deserves to be labelled as an absolute spoon-fed fool. When are these loonies going to quit picking fights with comedians and blogs?
Oh, and on a personal and totally unprofessional note, nice hair. I'm sure Haggard loves it.
August 15th, 2007 at 11:17 pmGibson is a coward. He can dish out criticism but can't take any of it.
August 16th, 2007 at 2:43 amIn the immediate aftermath of the tragedy on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, we were a nation in shock, and we were grieving. The unthinkable had happened. Thousands of our citizens were dead as a result of a terrorist act. Most of us didn't know how to express our feelings, so we turned to television where we were exposed repeatedly to planes hitting the towers.
Time moved on, but there was a surreal quality about it. Overwhelmed, we tried to go through our daily routine despite feelings of a vulnerability which we had never before felt.
On Thursday, September 20, 2001, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart returned. Many tuned in wondering perhaps how this show could continue. What could Jon Stewart, the king of satire, possibly have to say to us at a time like this?
Jon's opening segment was noticeably subdued from the start as many of his regular listeners could tell. What followed was a genuine outpouring of grief mixed with a powerful message of hope. Jon Stewart showed his audience that night that it was okay to grieve. But he didn't leave it at that. He provided a antidote to the despair. He gave us the courage to carry on.
Thank you, Jon, for your immeasurable contribution toward the healing of a hurting people.

August 16th, 2007 at 6:03 amMaybe he can write a book about this new war. It would go nicely on the bookshelf next to his "War on Christmas." In fact, he can start a series...."The War on...." whatever bee is in his bonnet that week.
