Assume the worst: Iran threatens the US with a nuclear attack, and stays long enough on the map in order for it to produce a nuclear warhead. They are lucky enough to manage loading the warhead into a ballistic missile WITHOUT blowing themselves up in the process. They are dumb and crazy enough to target the US. Then they manage to launch it accurately enough(boy, that would be a real achievement for them) to hit one of US’s cities. Then the retaliation begins. In a matter of minutes/hours, Iran will be a red sea of molten rock, and another nation goes down because of it’s own stupidity. Period.

If, in fact, the Iranians “are” involved with illegal things, then why hasn’t that targeting information been provided to the IAEA for thier inspection; and what is the basis for the US military targeting in Iran? The only reasonable answer is tht the US has not got any targets related to imminent threats; and the IAEA has not been provided the information because the US is not interested in inspections, only in military action. This is the same pre-textual, illegal basis for the invasion of Iraq.

You’re starting from a faulty permise. Same problem we had prior to the Iraq invasion: Stupid arguments based on non-sense logic. Same thing today: Without reasonable arguments, the basis for invading Iran is dubious, not just illegal. Please stop supporting illegal warfare in Iran.

Woolsey needs to justify his assertions. Until he does, assume the information is no better than the Iraq WMD data: Fabricated, and politically driven to justify illegal warfare.

Time for the grand jury to compel Woosley to disclose where he is getting his information: Why is the US Government supposedly leaking this “classified” inforation to Woosley who is then disclosing it? The only reasonable conclusion: The inforation is not secret, has been fabricated, and is not linked with any real information the US wants to protect related to sources and methods; and Woosley is, in effect, acting like the Iraqi shills prior to the illegal invasion of Iraq.

More old quotes that have already been debunked, and proven wrong. I don’t know what the Bush loyalists expect to achieve by re-hashing them -maybe they want to highlight how completely wrong the White House intelligence was regarding Iraq.

We should remind them that the UN weapons inspectors were asking for more time to certify Iraq was a WMD-free country right up to the onset of the invasion; hardly the sign of a “gathering threat”. Not to mention the revelations that the Bush administration manufactured their own intelligence thanks to Feith’s “alternative intelligence” office.

But these are facts, the kind that has a liberal bias.

Bill Clinton and Sandy Berger and Richard Claarke launched a massive cruise missile attack (Operation Desert Fox) on Iraq. In that attack whatever WMD capabilities left to Iraq were destroyed.
