Think Progress should have been following the trial. Lew Koch at FireDogLake has had some excellent articles and TP should have been sending people there.

This is an abomination. A show trial – our just us system is broken and we need to fix it.

CNN is no longer the most trusted name in news. Their coverage is always skewed to the right. Neo-cons are often invited to their shows. Like Fixed News they are often blatantly dishonest and factually irresponsible in their coverage. Blitzer can’t even tell the difference between Sen. Sessions and the Defense Secretary.

The Padilla story is so important it should have appeared alone. That’s how they always do it with important stories, right? They never clutter up the page with a lot of stories, do they? ;)

I agree with Rodrigo. I saw this live. Verdict news broke at around 2.20, not exactly 2 pm. The engagement news broke just before the top of the hour. Thanks “think”progress. Check your news first.

I don’t care for CNN anymore than the rest of the MSM (except for Keith O. of course).
However, to be fair, I was on their site when I heard the verdict was going to be announced. They had that Jenna Bush crap posted but the tag line changed to Pedilla story as soon as the verdict was announced in open court.

the mortage default rates skyrocketing are a combination of several factors, and have a hand in what’s going on with the market.
Many borrowers took on interest only and ARMs with the plan of selling before the Arm increases took hold. Then the housing prices flattened, and they couldn’t flip at a profit. Now their bailing, and the holders of those bad loans are getting shat on by wall street.
Lots of blame to go around. I’ve only shed about 10 grand of my 401K so far. Not time to panic. Yet.

Want happend to the LONG overdue changes in corporate bankruptcy laws. The current law only requires companies to pay off preffered lenders not the companies 401K, or pension, or meet all their debts like individuals have to. Companies think the government is their mommy waiting to take care of them.
