I read the GQ article in its entirety, and some of the quotes you pulled are WAY OUT OF CONTEXT. For example, that instance with the radio producer, that was something that happened years ago, when Glenn was an addict, he is clean today.

It is horrible to see how news on TV and in the papers has deteriorated to what it is know: biased and partisan. It is hard to be unbiased, but there used to be a time that readers, viewers or listeners had to make up their OWN opinion based on what they heard or read. Now American news is merely based on ’shady figures’ telling us what to think. Were becoming a dumm and uninformed, indoctrinated people. Of course Beck has problems with bloggers: the internet empowers people and provides alternative sources of information. I don’t need him to tell me how the world functions.

Polarizing pundits like the evil trifecta of Beck, O’Reilly, and Tucker are not what America needs, we need people who can unite us. Beck is a racist and speaks for racists like himself. If CNN feels it needs to cater to the lowest common denominator then it should remove it’s misleading motto “the most trusted name in news” off the screen.

those who think the Fairness Doctrine is a magic bullet are strongly behooved to see what FAIR has to say about it.

I’m not going to dig out a link because my posts never seem to make the cut on this board. you mods know how to hurt a guy’s feelings, I mean. look at some of the stuff that DOES make the cut.

Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting have some very interesting ideas about the actual practice of the fairness doctrine that make good chewing gum for the brain before we bring something like that back.

Michael, haven’t you read the article in GQ? Or at least the commentary? If you have to ask why, you aren’t paying attention. Please try to train your smarmy right-wing focus on a real issue.
