Pentagon launching Iraq ‘war room.’

By Faiz on Aug 24th, 2007 at 10:57 pm

Pentagon launching Iraq ‘war room.’»

In advance of the September White House report, the Pentagon is launching “a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week Iraq Communications Desk that will pump out data from Baghdad — serving as what could be considered a campaign war room.” “I would not characterize it as a war room,” Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said. “It’s far less sinister than that. It’s more like a library.”

And who will be the beneficiary of these communications?

Why, Fox Opinion and any right-wing blogger or radio host, of course.

Damn. Even more proof that this “war” is being marketed to the public, courtesy of the Bush Admin.

  3. Zooeyisabraindeadrepeateroflibpropaganda Says:

As Zooey’s paranoid and government-distrusting post of conspiracy-theory BS proved, the progressives are already misapplying the most menacing connotations to this innocent “war room/library.” I congratulate the Pentagon for finally being ahead of the curve and already planning for the foreseeable future by counterattacking the anti-war smears the left will launch when the Sept. WH report emerges. We all know the lowlives like Zooey and her ilk will manufacture the dirtiest, most ignoble smears to discredit the independent report of David Petreaus (which will only be attached to the WH report as a House resolution authorized, but submitted by the military). This “war room” will tell people how to really interpret the report, disproving all the progressive slurs that the anti-war traitors will launch simultaneously. Some slurs the left will launch include: Petreaus is a Bush stooge; the military is hateful because it kills civilians; and Iraq is lost because WE the progs say it is!

The U.S. effort to install a democracy in Iraq within three to five years was a flawed strategy with little chance of succeeding, U.S. Rep. Peter Hoekstra said Friday. This administration only looks incompetent because you’re assuming that their stated goals are their actual goals. When one considers their actions in the light of their real goals (permanent occupation of Iraq and permanent military presence in the Middle East), one can see that they are quite competent.

Don’t buy into the ‘incompetency’ fallacy…it only serves to shield this administration from any real culpability.

The Military planners FAILED to secure or destroy the 500 MILLION Tons of explosives in Iraq after Sadaam was toppled. They were so fixated on Weapons of MASS destruction, that they ignored these weapons of Slighly less than Mass destruction. These explosives were looted by insurgents and ended up in the IED’s and Truck bombs that are a major cause of America’s casualties.
Our military has not found an answer to stop these low cost and deadly devices. And perhaps most importantly, insurgencies worldwide now have an answer to America’s high tech superiority.
I just can’t believe this was a “GOAL” of the Bush Administration. It seems more like incompetetency and plans based on wishfull thinking.

It’s not improved public relations the Pentagon needs. The problem with Iraq is that the liberals are angry about not getting their share of the spoils of war; how long can you stand to see guys like Cheney or Bucky Bush or James Woolsey lining their pockets with contractor profits before you want to get in on the action? How about a simple Halliburton kickback of, say, $50 million to Ted Kennedy? That ought to help.

The latest reichwing pocket padding scam of subprime mortgages coupled with the outsourcing efforts during this Administration is threatening to take the US economy, if not the world’s economy, right into the crapper. Neither of the two Democrats whom the right says said that the surge is working said that. As usual the reptards and their water carriers took part of a sentence and then made it in a fact in their dream world. Both candidates said that the surge is working in some areas of Iraq but that it is too little too late, and due to the fact that there is no functioning government in Iraq, securing certain areas does nothing to solve their problems. Both said that there is no way we can win this occupation.
