If the u.s. troops were not there they may not be seeing the bloodshed now happening.
Who know what will happen if we leave, but we do know that we are not stopping the blood shed. WE do not have anyone that can see into the future if that were so, we never would have gone into Iraq in the first place.

If the as yet unstated goal is to take over Iraq so their oil resources can be handed over to the multi-national oil companies, if Iraqis step their killing of each other, eventually there won’t be anyone left and the United States can take over the country by default.

The neocons can populate the country with a few true believers from the red states, and make Iraq the 51st state (which should be a bright, blood red — the Republicans wet dream come true).

First there has been no reduction in deaths.

A few items later, there has been a small reduction, but it’s caused by the number of people who have left or been killed, which just happened to coincide with the surge. Or it’s caused by the Iraqi’s thinking the U.S. is pulling out in the midst of the surge.

If one accounts for the ratio of the Iraqi population to that of the US, that is the equivalent to one nine-eleven every 4 days.

FACTS??? Then why is the military rushing to provide MRAPS to the Army in Iraq after being criticized by the Defense Secretary, stating that Army blood is not less valuable than Marine Blood. Marines have MRAPS (V shaped IED resistant vehicles) while the Army does not.
