The fact that they are resisting efforts to investigate reconstruction investigations indicates a possible link between such efforts and high-level personnel in the White House. The reconstruction allegations clearly demand an independent investigator. Will this happen with the current Justice Department? Unlikely. Should they happen? Definitely. Congress needs to use their power of Inherent Contempt and use it quickly.
